Hello and welcome to The Aphmau Book Club 2018 Edition!

Now, you may be wondering, why do we need another book for 2018?

Well, to answer your question, there are a large number of reasons.

First and foremost, I'd like to introducd, the new system.

Due to the fact that TABC is approaching 70 members, we decided to implement a new way to keep all of our members involved, and, at the same time, keep all of the club activities organized.

If you're familiar with this book club, you would know that there's an activity held per week, and this activity is done with a randomly-assigned partner. Along with this paired activity, there are also discussions, where people may share their opinions.

With the rising number of members, it has gotten harder and harder to keep up with pairing each and every member. And, if I were to pair everyone up, only a portion would actually do the assigned activity.

With this in mind, I created the new weekly system to keep all our members involved, with the benefit of getting to socialize with other users, and receive reads and votes from these newly-made friends.

First of all, the addition of teams.

What do these teams do?

With the team-system, a number of members may be able to join a particular team. But, make sure to choose wisely, as the team you choose will define the people you will be with for your time in the book club.

Every week, there will be a paired activity. The admins will randomly-assign a partner to you from your team. With every passing week, you will meet a new member of your team.

The team-system can be made possible with the help of Discord, and TABC's Discord server; you may find an invitation to the server on our about page here on Wattpad. This means that, to receive the perks of being a member, you need to have a Discord account.

What is the benefit of the team-system?

Not only will you meet a potential-buddy and find a new read, but you may also receive new reads and votes. Paired activities require you to read, vote, and comment on one of your partner's books, increasing your demographic.

This will also keep our admins on their feet, as every team will have an admin to accommodate them. This admin will become responsible for pairing the members of their respective teams. If a head admin is on a hiatus, another admin will temporarily take their place.

Second thing's second, pairing punishments.

What are pairing punishments?

I know it sounds somewhat threatening, but I promise it isn't.

As mentioned earlier, you are required to read, vote, and comment on your partner's book. This is required for your partner as well, so the both of you receive the reads, votes, and comments.

If your partner has read, voted, and commented on your book and you haven't done the same with their book by the end of the week, you will receive a strike. Five strikes, and you can no longer be a member.

Can I become a member again after receiving five strikes?

Yes, you may, but receiving another five strikes after renewing your membership will receive in a permanent kick; this means that you may no longer re-apply to become a member.

What if I am on hiatus?

Please inform the admin of your team and your partner beforehand. This will help prevent any misunderstandings in the future.

Next on the list, the new member form.

NOTE: As I will be discussing the new member form, please do not leave your forms under this chapter. Any form left in the comments of this chapter will be ignored.

For 2018, we have added a new requirement to become a member; a Discord account. This applies to new members, and old members (2017).

What if I don't have a Discord account?

The lack of a Discord account will strip you of the benefits of being a member; this means that there are much lower chances for you to be noticed by other members.

Related to the previous one, the Discord server.

If you are amongst the few to have joined our Discord server, you will know that there are multiple channels;

The general chat, where everyone may chat and socialize with each other. The admins' chat, exclusive to TABC's admin team; this means that, if you do not have the admin-role, then you are not allowed to enter the chat.

There are also a few others, naming a few, we have the one for announcements, welcomes and goodbyes, ranting and venting, etc.

With the new changes to the system, there will be additional roles and channels. These new chats will be exclusive to only those with specific roles.

For example, there will be a new channel for "Team A." In this chat, only members with the "Team A" role along with the admins will be able to enter. This will help with the organization of the group as a whole.

Another addition to help make small writers recognized is the Book of the Week.

What is the Book of the Week?

If your book has been, well, how do I say this, "elected" per se, then your book will be featured in the next week's activities. This means that your book will be given a special in-your-face shoutout, in other words.

How do I become Book of the Week?

If your partner has felt that your book was extraordinary, then they may nominate it for book of the week. You may not force your partner to nominate you.

After being nominated, the admins will look into all the nominations and choose one. The book of the week is judged on its creativity, literal value, graphics, and so on.
