Red Eyes Fating Fate

A dash of hatred pulled through Silas's mind, forcing him towards a cabinet, pinching it to let relief down his eyes. However, he felt something off with it, checking the date.

"It expired this month? Mom?"

She had already left, and he had to go, rapidly blinking on his way to the door.

Camila got to school on time, finding him struggling to even walk through the hallway.

"You okay?"

"Yeah," groaning, taking a cap of water to thrust in his eyes. "Let's just get through the day."

Every second she took a glance to see him, he was forcing sneezes out, punching himself in the face, and closing his eyes so much his teachers assumed he was sleeping.

Towards the end of the period before lunch, his eyes burned so much, he begged the teacher to let him call a doctor, in too much pain to make it as everyone left the room.

Camila raised her hand. "Could I help? What's your password?"

He figured desperate times were for desperate measures and exposed it to the first person, telling her to contact Doctor Libra.

"She's here."

"Yeah, can the pharmacy get the prescription? Hours?" He slammed his face down. "I can't wait that long," listening to the list of remedies she offered in the meantime. "Thanks doc, you're the best."

"Why do you sound so far away," leading him to explain. "Oh, is that the girl you-"

"Bye doctor," reeling in pain immediately after she hung up.

"Hold on." Camila went to wet cold paper towels to let it rest on his face. "I'll get you something to eat."

She later came back with two trays, with their science teacher letting them stay in their room for lunch, knowing full well what he enjoyed at this point.

"I owe you big time," clutching his eyes. "I want to claw my eyes out!"

"Let's just go after school."

Throughout the end of the day his condition got so bad he felt his energy fading, as tears slipped out of their closed eyes.

"I don't think I can make it there," clearly running out of stamina, too distraught to open them.

"Come on," as the bell to leave rang. "I'll lead the way," offering to hold his hand.

"But, everyone's gonna see, and think-"

"Remember what you said? I don't care what other people think, as long as I'm with you."

Those words hit him, silently taking the only hand that reached out.

She paid no mind to the people staring at them through the hallway, heading out the school and guiding them down the downtown busy streets, making sure he had the strength to stay awake, narrowly avoiding getting run over.

They got inside the pharmacy, but he went dead silent, only finding out he was breathing. She told the worker the situation, asking for the prescription.

"Does he have any ID?"

"Um, wait," going through his pockets. "Sorry about this Si," pulling his shirt and pants to reach inside and get his wallet, before putting in his phone number.

The pharmacy worker went to grab it for her. Feeling his face burning up, she lifted up his glasses, finding the crimson infestation of his eyeball when she spread the lid open.

His body began to shiver, but she held it in place.

"It's okay. You'll feel better soon."

Though his eyelids were fighting to close, she refused to let his torment continue, narrowing her eyes to make sure she didn't miss, firing the droplet in his eye point blank, barely making it in as it closed.

His breath rate went up, squirming so hard, she gripped his hand.

"I won't let you go," she whispered. "Just trust me."

His hand slowly, un-subconsciously, calmed down, opening her to expose his second eye to release the tears of irritating tension flowing like a geyser. She pressed on the eyelid underneath, while her other hand pulled the trigger, injecting the moving virus with the antidote.

She let his eyes close. Over time, she saw the tension across his face simmering down. She measured the heat of their respective skin to make sure, placing a water bottle over his forehead for reassurance.

"I hope you're having a good dream."

Silas found his spirit chained. Red spores rose up his body, unable to stop the parasitic, natural infection clawing into his eyes. It forced him to tear it open, staring into the blinding vermission sun incinerating his psyche and body, begging for the sweet escape from suffering.

The hands of a winged angel in light brown skin covered the smoldering rays. Able to shelter the fragility of his waning power, the sound of the winged warriors' words compelled him to see his savior. Barely able to let her cross that bridge, she summoned a shining torrent. pouring down.

The angelic force slowly rid himself of Silas's anguish, finding the gift of sight returning. The overwhelming sun recovered back into its natural glow, overshadowed by the angel staring at his cracked spirit. With one mighty embrace, she reconstructed him back to his normal state. Stunned, all his face could do was thank her with a smile.

He reached out to her, but reality briefly switched places with his psyche, finding Camila in place of the angel.

Silas asked her name, nuzzling into her arms as their heads vertical to one another.

"You're awake?"

"Camila," yawning, "sleepy."

She was at ease. "Wake up soon, we have to go home."

"Thank you," speaking from his heart with one last statement.

"Camila, I love you."

Her ears and eyes opened, only for him to fall asleep, fully comfortable with her.

She smiled, as a tear dropped from her eye, able to pour out the words breaking through the dam of doubt.

"I love you too," resting his head on top of her face.
