x_Apple_Bottom_ x: Just because you picked a color doesn't mean you only have to work with one shade of it.

re-ika: A lot of the creative process is left up to you. We're not looking for anything specific, it's all up to your imagination what you come up with. Just do what you want with the color you chose. Also, although you're most likely going to go for a monochromatic color scheme, you won't be marked down for small hints of other colors.

✎ Can I participate even though I'm not an official participant and the contest slots are closed?

Yes, however you will not get all the benefits/prizes that the contest offers participants.
