somethings last forever : 5
It was a beautiful, Shoto remembered it very well. He could still recall the moment he had held his brother's hand and had dragged him around the house. Shoto wanted to show him that he could use both of his quirks at the same time! He wanted to show his big brother that his freezing quirk was very useful. He wanted to help his brother.
Todoroki saw how bad Toya's condition was. He was still a kid when he started to hear his parents fight over Toya... but when his brother had stopped using his quirk, Shoto had shown his abilities to everyone. His father was excited. He had laughed loud for the first time in years. There was a glorious glow in his blue eyes.
Enji was excited... Todoroki was confused, Toya was hurt and didn't look at nothing.
Natsu was shocked.
But Todoroki didn't want to impress his father and steal the light for himself only.
He wanted to help! Toya was forgotten.
And so, after the incident, when he came back home, Enji made sure they never speak of Toya again.
When Shoto slowly woke up, his head was aching. His chest hurt and his vision was blurred. When he tried to stand up, he realized that he was lying on a soft mattress with a real pillow under his head!
He looked around... he could see that this place was clearly a normal room, with windows and a single picture of a half naked girl. Shoto didn't stare too long at the details of the said picture, but instead tried to stand on his feet.
He was wearing a button up shirt with a pjama pants. He didn't remember wearing them.
Then he realized that he could use his quirks to run away. He could set the room on fire. Or freeze the door or the window and break them. And he tried...
Nothing happened.
His heart was beating rapidly. He couldn't use them!
"Ah, good morning, Shoto." He knew the voice. Dabi.
"I see, don't worry. I didn't remove your quirks forever. Just for a few days. I injected a medicine into your blood stream, and it hinders your nerves from creating the pattern which leads you to absorb the heath around and exhale it in form of fire. The same goes with freezing.
Don't be surprised if you feel a little dizzy." Dabi put a cup of orange juice on the table.
Shoto only watched him with anger. Dabi couldn't do that. He couldn't act this calm.
"Don't worry, Shoto." Dabi looked at him with a new expression. His face seemed softer. But then, as short as that moment was, his expression hardened and Todoroki wasn't sure if it had a good meaning or bad.
"I'll come back."
All though he hated to admit it, Shoto was glad that Dabi brought him a glass of orange juice. And he was going to wait again.
But his heart skipped a leap everytime he thought about running away. And where was his father? Where was everyone?
Shoto stood in middle of the room for a while and finally his knees gave in. He fell and started to cry.
...
Everybody couldn't break the quietness and the solitude of the each passing days. Nobody talked about it, but they knew that the situation was worse than imagined.
Promises were broken and hopes had faded. Only the people who had witnessed everything with their own eyes felt the most responsible.
Kacchan couldn't stop his anger. He was disappointed and furious. He thought it was his fault. All the things happened rapidly and he hadn't found a way to help Todoroki. It all only pushed him further to the depth of his insecurities which had started on the very first day he was kidnapped by a villain. On the very first day Midoriya had tried to rescue him. On the very first day, both of them had met Allmight from a very close proximity.
That half and half bastard had saved his life. Kacchan hated pity and he hated more when people tried to help him. But, even with that, part of him was glad that he was standing on his feet and that he was safe. For that, Kacchan wasn't going to act as if nothing had happened. He hated Tordoroki, but he had to do this to repay his deed.
Every night, when everyone was asleep, Kacchan sneaked out of his room and went to the teacher's room. He searched for any news that was related to Todoroki the the league of the villains.
All he had found out was that Dabi, the man with the flames hotter than Endeavour, was the man incharge of everything.
Tonight, as he was aiming to go out, he suddenly heard quiet whispers. Downstairs. He quietly followed the noises and found the source. Midoriya... it didn't even surprise him... but he wasn't alone. He was talking to someone else. To Kirishima.
Kacchan's eyes grow rounded. Kirishima of the people, how could he...
"Oui, broccoli and shark boy, what are you up to?! Some of us are trying to sleep." Kacchan whisper yelled. Both boys turned around and just stared at Kacchan without any expression.
Kacchan furrowed his eyebrows.
"What is it?" He asked. Kirishima looked at Midoriya and nodded his head. He stepped closer.
"Katsuki... we want to find Endeavour." The red haired boy whispered.
"You are insane. You have to leave UA. You know that well enough?" Kacchan was trying to hold Kirishima back. It was too dangerous and fatal. They were already targeted by the league of villains several time.
"Kacchan is right. That is why, I want to go alone." Midoriya stepped up.
"Are you crazy?" Kirishima said quietly.
"You wanta die alone? We've lost Todoroki, I am not gonna letcha go alone." Kirishima protested. Kacchan slowly snaked his hand into Kirishima's and squeezed it.
He looked at him with confused eyes.
"No." He mouthed.
Kirishima was blank for a moment, then he squeezed his hand back and shook his head.
"I can't." He mouthed.
"Midoriya, l am coming, too." Kacchan growled lowly. Kirishima glanced at him with an expression of admiration.
"I have found some information about blue-flames." He said.
Midoriya nodded his head hesitantly and led the way.
They didn't realise that Aizawa was watching them this whole time.
