Chapter Three
Christine's point of view
"Well, Erik, why don't you come inside? Marguerite and I were just about to eat dinner." Erik smiled. "I'd love that, my dear." "I shall go and fetch Marguerite. Please, make yourself a cup of tea."
Marguerite's point of view
My mother opened the door to my bedroom, where I was sitting on my bed.
"My dear, aren't you going to come and eat?"
I sighed. "Mother, who is that man? Something about him doesn't feel right to me."
My mother sat next to me. "His name is Erik. I know him from my time as a chorus girl." I gave her a look. "Still, something about him doesn't feel right to me."
My mother took my hand. "I understand how you feel, my dear. But give Erik a chance, please." I sighed again. "Yes, mother."
Phantom's point of view
Christine had a child. Just like I had hoped. She was so beautiful, as beautiful as my Christine, perhaps more. She appeared to be an angel.
No, I told myself. Angels have nothing on Marguerite Daae.
