I took a deep breath as I settled into the court case. My confidence faded once I saw them "oh fuck why them" I groaned.

"Let's get this shit over with" angel growled, clearly also upset that he was called in. Great!

"Court is now in session" sera arrived with Emily close behind "today we're hear to determine whether or not a soul can be redeemed. Miss eden you have the floor"

"Thank you Sera" I took a deep breath as I stood up "Webster's dictionary states redemption as-"

"Objection!" Angel cut me off with an annoyed expression "I didn't get called in from my only day off to listen to dictionary quotes"

"Objection sustained. The defendant will refrain from dictionary quotes"

"Right" I flipped through my cards which were all unfortunately dictionary quotes.

"Do you even have any proof this works" angel grumbled.

"We have a client that's making amazing progress" I said firmly.

"Oh? And who is this client of yours" husk eyed me suspiciously.

"Lucifer morningstar" everyone gasped as soon as his name left my mouth. I guess he is kinda like a boggieman round here.

"You think Lucifer is worthy of redemption" angel laughed mockingly.

"I know he is" I said firmly.

"Then let's fucking see it" he growled as he snapped his fingers, revealing a ball showing Lucifer and the others in the bar.

"Ah this really hits the spot" Lucifer downed a drink with a sigh "it's been a really hard couple of weeks"

"Oh Luci baby don't you worry about a thing" Ozzy handed him some pills "just take a few of these and you'll be in pleasure town in no time"

"Hff" alastor scoffed.

"Oh? You got something to say deer boy?" Ozzy glared at him.

"Not to you no" he turned to Lucifer "if you're willing to throw away all the progress you've made so far be my guest but I know you're better than that" his eyes softened.

"He's right Ozzy. I should hold off on that stuff" Lucifer handed the pills back. I let out a sigh of relief. Good job alastor!

"Fine. If you don't want the pills then at least let me buy you a drink"

"Well I'm not one to turn down a drink" he grinned.

"Umm may I buy you a drink too?" Fizz asked nervously.

"Sure knock yourself out kid" Ozzy shrugged, making fizz's face light up with joy.

"Ha you see that!" Angel smiled smugly "The traitor chose a night of deboachry! Clearly he is not a soul worth redeeming"

"Objection! You can't possibly tell me that you hadn't had a drink with friends after a long day"

"We don't have bad days. It's fucking heaven bitch" I glared at his statement.

"Lucifer will make good choices. We just have to keep watching"

"We should give them a chance Sera" emily whispered to Sera. I smiled. At least I have one ally.

"Very well. We'll keep watching"

"Fuck yeah!" I punched the air in victory. Sera stiffened up disapprovingly "I mean thank you" I muttered awkwardly before turning back to the ball.

The five of them sat around laughing. Lucifer was holding alastors arm and fizz and Ozzy seemed to be getting along for once.

"Ohoho the room is spinning" mimzy giggled

"Alright missy I think you've had enough" he took the drink from her.

"Noooo!"

"No complaining. It's for your own good" Lucifer said, his inner father showing.

"Whatever old man" she stood up shakily "like I need you to tell me when I've had enough-" she was cut off when she bumped into vox.

"Well aren't you gorgeous" he bent down to her level with a fake smile "would you like a job sweetheart"

Charlie stiffened up angrily at the sight of the guy. I placed a conferting hand on her shoulder. Please let them be ok.

"Leave her alone!" Lucifer pulled her away.

"Aw what's the matter Luci" he smirked "jealous?"

"Fuck off " he spat.

"What did you say?" His screen glitched in anger.

"I said fuck off!" He growled "you can do whatever you want with me but I draw the line when it comes to my friends"

"Why you arrogant little-" he raised his hand to hit him only for alastor to stop him.

"I think that's enough vox. We wouldn't want to cause a scene" his voice was calm but I could tell by his face he was furious.

"Alastor?" His eyes widened.

"Run along vox before you embarrassed yourself"

"Grr I'll get you back for this" he shoved him aside.

"As charming as ever I see-" he was cut off by Lucifer hugging his waist.

"Thank you" he muttered into his chest.

"Of course" his face softened as his hands slowly rested on his back.

"You see. Lucifer put his own safety on the line to protect mimsy. Clearly a selfless soul like that is more than worthy of redemption" I said determinedly.

"Well then why isn't he here" angel yelled.

"Yeah, why isn't he here?" Emily's eyebrows knitted in confusion.

"Wait" my eyes widened in realisation "none of you know what gets a soul into heaven"

"This questioning stops now" sera cut me down "we know when a soul arrives. We know when they pass divine judgement. It is our job to keep these souls safe"

"But she was right Sera" emily spoke up "she showed us a soul can improve. She saw the light Sera. Checked all the boxes that you said would proves a person deserves a second chance. Now we turn our back so second glance!"

"It's not as simple as you think" sera said simply "not everything is spelt in ink"

"It's not fair Sera" I spoke up.

"Careful vaggie keep a cool head" Charlie warned.

"No!" I shoved her away "don't you care Sera? That just because someone is dead it doesn't" I flipped through the ball, showing images of Lucifer and the others "mean they can't resolve to change their ways, turn the page escape eternal blaze!"

"I know you wish it could be so" sera gave me a pitying glance "but there's a lot that you don't know"

"What are we even talking about?" husk slammed the desk angrily "some crack whore who fucked up already" Charlie growled at his statement "he blew his shot like the cocks in his mouth this discussion is senseless and petty!"

"There's no question to be posed" angel and husk flew up to us "he's unholy cased close. Did you forget the hell is forever!?"

"A man only lives once" he grinned "we'll see you in one month. Gotta say I can't wait to-"

"Antony-"

"Come down and exterminate you!"

"Wait!"

"Shit!"

"What are you saying? Let me get this straight, you go down there and kill those poor souls" she reached out to Lucifers image.

"You didn't know" I gasped.

"Whoops" the boys smirked "guess the cats out of the bag"

"What's the big deal?"

"Sera tell me that you didn't know" emily turned to her desperately.

"I thought since I'm older it's my load to shoulder"

"No!"

"You have to listen it was such a hard decision" she flew over to her "I wanted to save you the anguish it takes to do what was required"

"To think that I admired you well-" she shoved her away "I don't need your condensation. I'm not a child to protect. Was talk of virtue just pretention? Was I too naive to expect you to heed the morals your portraying?"

"That's what the fuck I've been saying" we smirked at each other before turning to the others "if hell is forever then heaven must be a lie"

"Emily!"

"If angels can do whatever and remain in the sky" angel glared at my words. "The rules are shades of gray when you don't do as you say when you make the wretched suffer just to kill them again!"

I breathed heavily as I finished the song. I was beyond angry but more than anything I was scared.
