Lucifer's pov

*Domestic abuse warning*

I headed into work expecting it to be another normal day when vox marched up to me. I tensed up, something's wrong.

Without warning he smacked me across the face. I collapsed to the floor. He grabbed me by the collar, forcing me to look at him "You're ex really upset poor velvet so she asked that you pass on a little message. Can you do that?"

"Sure" I said, my head still reeling from the hit.

"Good boy" he stroked my face before throwing me to the ground and pummeling me. A thought flashed through my mind. I should stop him. I should fight back but I stopped myself. I deserve this.

"Now you go tell that bitch that if she ever messes with the vee's again you'll come home looking like a busted up Barbie doll. You got that baby" he lovingly stroked my bloodied and bruised face.

"Y-yes" I winched at his touch.

"There's my good boy" he stroked my hair tenderly. If you didn't know better I'd find that touch conferting "now you run along home baby and pass on that message. I'll see you at work tomorrow"

I nodded shakily before rushing out the door.

Charlie's pov

I was playfully wrestling vaggie for the last packet of mxms when dad entered the door backwards. I raised an eyebrow.

"Dad?" I approached him.

"Just a second honey, I'm just fixing something" he kept his back to me. I grabbed his shoulders and forced him to look at me. What I saw shocked me.

Black eye, broken nose, busted lip. He looked like he'd just been jumped.

Vaggie and me covered our mouths in disbelief. Mom and Alastor were trembling with rage. Alastor was even coming close to breaking the bar.

Dad squirmed uncomfortably under everyone gaze. I gently took his hands "dad tell me what happened"

He sighed "apparently velvet and the vee's got upset by Liliths actions. They used me to send a little message"

"You allowed those lowly beasts to hurt you" mom muttered in disbelief.

"You're blaming him? He's a victim mom!" I held him protectively.

"It's alright Charlie" he pushed me away getting "she's right. I should be able to defend myself but I just can't" he looked away shamefully.

"Well no one harms my family like that" she smirked "I'll give velvet a visit she won't soon forget"

"Absolutely not!" I marched up to her "it's your fault this happened in the first place!"

"Now Charlie you shouldn't blame your mother-"

"No dad!" I cut him off before turning to her angrily "did you even consider how this would affect dad? No! The only thing you ever cared about was fueling your own ego. That's all you ever cared about! Well I'm not going to let your selfish bullshit hurt this family again!"

A strange aura enraped my mother. For a moment I wasn't sure what she'd do. Then she gave me a smile "suit yourself" she tapped her cane three times before disappearing.

"I appreciate you concern guys but I think I'd just like to go bed" he smiled weakly.

"I'll take you down" alastor gently took his hand. He's so tender towards him, it's really sweet. As he passed us by I heard him mutter "I'm going to kill that TV prick"

I chuckled softly. I feel ya buddy.

Alastors pov

"What do you mean you're going back!" I shook my head in disbelief as I watched him put his coat on.

"I have to al. It's my job" he refused to look at me.

"Lucifer this has gone too far" I gently took his hand "you're not tied down by a soul contract so why-"

"You know why!" Tears streamed down his face.

"Lucifer you don't need to keep punishing yourself" I tried to reason with him "you are so loved here. How can you not see that?"

"I'm sorry" he pulled away before stepping out the door.

"Dad wait-" Charlie was cut off by the door slamming in her face "no" she fell to her knees with tears in her eyes. Vaggie rushed up to hug her "that's it, I'm taking him out myself!

"Not a good idea kid" adam appeared "you're no longer a princess. If you go around picking a fight with the vee's they could come for this hotel"

"I hate to admit it but Adams right" Lilith spoke up "you could unknowingly bring danger to everyone in this hotel"

"But I have to do something" her eyes were filled with desperation.

"You don't have a status but I do" Adam smirked "I'll go bring the baby bitch home"

"Thanks daddy" vaggie nodded greatfully. He waved at us as he exited the room.

Please bring him back.

Lucifer's pov

I hung my head as I walked down the streets. Seeing their pained faces hurt more than anything vox could do to me. My thoughts went back to the day they found me.

*Flashback*

"You really shouldn't get involved in fighting my dear" vox tilted my chin up, forcing me to look at him. I'd just taking care of a gang threatening the vee's, hoping vox wouldn't make me do as much sex work. Clearly it backfired "what would people say if they thought I got my whores to fight my battles"

"I didn't think of that" I muttered.

"Darling you know how much I love your recklessness but I'm going to need you to start thinking" he stroked my hair "now you missed a whole day of work so I'm going to need you to whore yourself out until you make at least two hundred"

"Ok" I sighed as I jumped out of the car. This is going to be a long night. I walked up to the first car I saw and leaned forward "hey baby looking for a good time"

"Dad!?"

"Charlie!" I reeled back in shock. My adult daughter was staring at me gobsmacked. This is officially the worst day of my life!

"Wow this is awkward" a gray haired girl giggled nervously "hi my name's vaggie. I'm currently dating your daughter"

"My daughter's in a relationship? And with such a nice looking girl too. Oh honey I'm so proud!"

"Wish I could say the same" Charlie muttered. I shook off the mean comment and turned to vaggie "so what are you girls up to?"

"Actually we have a rehabilitation project" she explained "you see we have a hotel and-"

"I'm in" I said without thinking.

"Really?" Her eyes lit up.

"Of course. I want to help my daughter out anyway I can"

"Wow thanks dad" she smiled softly.

"Now I'd love to catch up with you guys but I've got work to do-" I was cut off by a stack of cash being dropped in my hands.

"That should be enough right" vaggie grinned "you should join us for dinner. I'd love to get to know you"

"Sounds good" I smiled at the girls kindness. I hopped into the limo, vowing to build a bridge with my daughter.

*End of flashback*

I sighed to myself. It would have been better if they never found me.

I headed inside when I was struck in the face by vox.

"You're late" he glared at me.

"Sorry" I stumbled back onto my feet "I was held back-"

"No excuses!" He growled "it seems some people think they can take advantage of my kindness so unfortunately for you darling you'll have to be the example!" He raised his fist to hit me only for it to be caught by..

"Adam?" I muttered in disbelief.

He ignored me, throwing vox aside "this" he punched him in the face "is for making my daughter cry. And this" he punched him again "is for making my daughter's girlfriend cry. And this" he punched him once more "is for my own personal enjoyment"

"Now listening here you pompous piece of shit" he grabbed vox by the collar, his tv screen cracked from the punches "that one" he pointed to me "is under my protection. If I see so much as a bruise, a cut, even bloodshot eyes I'll give you the royal fucking treatment! Do you understand?"

"Yes-"

"Yes. Your. Highness" he growled.

"Yes your highness" he parroted.

"Good" he tossed him aside before turning to me "we're going home. That's not a problem is it?" He turned to vox with a threatening glance.

"No of course not your highness" he stuttered "go ahead. I'll even give him a paid day off"

"How gracious of you" he said sarcastically before grabbing my hand and dragging me out.

"Alright let's haul ass back to the hotel-" he was cut off by my sobbing. I couldn't stop. My emotions were overwhelming me.

"Oh fuck me" he grumbled before turning to me "take a seat, I'll grab you something to eat"

"You don't have to babysit me" I said through choked sobs.

He turned to me with a glare "I'm fucking adam and Adam doesn't do anything unless he wants to. I'm grabbing you some grub. Try not to get molested"

"I'll try" I wiped my tears away as he ran over to a stall. He came back with two ice-cream cones.

"Here. I got you vanilla you basic bitch" he sat down beside me.

"Chocolate's pretty basic too" I pointed out.

"Yeah well- shut the fuck up!" He yelled, making me laugh.

He huffed "I don't understand why you're doing this. You have more power than me and Lilith combined. Why the fuck are you being his bitch?"

"It's my punishment" I hugged my knees "Charlie, Lilith, you. I ruined so many lives. It's only right that I suffer like this"

He stood up and with one fell swoop punched the back of my head.

"Ow"

"You fucking idiot!" He folded his arms angrily "you really think I want you to punish yourself?"

"Well you gotta hate me. I ruined your life" I averted my eyes.

He sighed "It would be so much easier if I did hate you but you were my first friend. I can't really bring myself to hate you. Lilith may be a bitch but she doesn't hate you. She was ready to wreck havoc on the vee's when she saw your busted face. And Charlie? That girl adores you. No one you screwed over holds anything against you so who the fuck are you doing this for?"

"I don't know" I hiccuped as the tears continued to fall.

He reached out and gently wiped my tears away "now here's what you're going to do. You're going to march over there, quit your shitty job, punch that asshole for me and buy me a drink"

"Ok" I nodded as I stood up "I'm going to do it right now"

"Don't puss out on me luc!"

I smiled as I ran back to the studio. I won't. Not this time.
