Okay.

Don't panic. That's the last thing I should do.

Maybe Dabi just came to talk-

That sinister, low chuckle rang throughout the room again causing another shiver to run up my spine.

Dabi's grip on my face got tighter as his flame got hotter. I simply remained frozen, drawing a blank on what to do.

How the hell did he get in here? UA has one of the strictest security systems in Japan.

What does he want with me?

I was too shocked to process anything. Half of me was convinced I was still dreaming-

"Oh? Not even gonna fight me, hero in training? I always pegged you as the type. I was expecting it, actually. I was hoping you wouldn't disappoint me." He said lowly, roughly pressing his stitched hand into my face to cut off my air supply.

My eyes widened in pure panic, trying to decide on how to proceed.

Dabi's here in my room. I have my back turned to him, so I can't see what's going on behind me. There could be others here with him. Even if they aren't in my room, they could be waiting for me outside in the hallway.

What is he after? Are the other students in the building in danger as well-

"Hm. Are you going to disappoint me, after all?" He said lowly, as his hand got even hotter on my face.

I squeezed my eyes shut, realizing I'm going to have to fight my way out of this. I don't have a plan. I don't know what's going on. But, I live in a school full of hero students and teachers. There's no way the winning outcome is on Dabi's side here.

It's on mine.

And I'm going to win.

I opened my eyes, slowly moving my arm around so I could activate my quirk-

"You know as well as I do that I'll be able to burn you quicker than you can immobilize me." He chuckled, burning the blue flames on his free hand brighter than before.

First the guy wants me to fight, then he tells me there's no point cause he's faster. What the hell does he want here?

I need to at least catch a glance at Dabi, so I can aim my immobilization effects at him.

Deciding to bet on the chance that I'm faster than Dabi, I elbowed him in the stomach to break away from his grasp.

I dove off the bed, catching his figure in my peripheral vision. At the same time his blue flames spiraled out, I activated my quirk...watching a giant flame incinerate the spot where I just was.

Now taking cover on the other side of the bed, I heard nothing. I kept my quirk activated, slowly crawling out from the side of the bed to see if I got Dabi.

I smirked when I saw the sight of him lying paralyzed on his back. I got him, but I still need to keep my guard up.

First things first, I need to tie him up and call someone. Fifteen seconds have probably passed on my immobilization quirk, and I don't have much more time.

"Looks like I was faster." I called out, quickly opening up my desk to find something to tie up Dabi with.

"You'd like to think so, wouldn't you?" He countered calmly, making me whip my head around at him.

He was still lying there on the floor, completely unable to move-

Footsteps are behind me!!

Without even looking, I dove to the side of the room, watching another blue flame incinerate the spot I was standing in.

"What?!" I exclaimed, looking up and seeing another Dabi grinning at me.

Is that a double?

Dabi number one began melting away, as Dabi number two casually walked towards me.

Okay. First things first....I just need to get out of this room. The space is too small.

I began scrambling backwards, not knowing if this Dabi was real. I don't want to over exhaust my quirk on doubles. That's too wasteful.

"Come on, hero. Let's fight." Dabi smirked, out stretching his hand with another blue flame.

Barely getting to my feet, I managed to move out of the way as blue flames began destroying my room completely.

Only seeing this version of Dabi, I decided to activate my quirk on him again-

Before I could, a blue flame blinded my vision, causing me to involuntarily activate my quirk on it to stop it from killing me.

Immobilize. I just need to get out-

Another flame. Immobilize.

Another one. Immobilize.

Shit. That's three things already. I lost count on my timing for the first immobilization-

Dabi whistled from behind me, shooting me a malicious grin.

"That's three things you've stopped. I have forty five seconds now. Right?" He stated calmly, quickly shooting more flames at me.

Fuck. I'm toast. Now, I can't even immobilize him.

I quickly sprinted across the room, barely managing to dodge Dabi's flames as I tried to grab my weapon bag from my closet.

Along the way, I took cover under my desk, deciding to slide it at Dabi to give myself a distraction.

"Shit-" He muttered upon seeing the desk, before a loud crashing was heard.

I took a chance and ran as fast as I could to my closet, throwing it open and grabbing a few knives. Ooo, maybe a grenade would work, too-

"No cheating!" Dabi called out happily, the sound of his voice making me dive backwards away from the weapons bag.

Another blue flame.

Damn it. I only managed to get a few daggers.

My forty five second time limit on one of the three things has to be up by now.

I quickly looked up, groaning in annoyance when I saw five new doubles standing in my room.

Twice. These doubles are of Twice. I remember him from Kamino. This is his quirk. Now, I get it. He can only make doubles of other people...

But, he can make infinite doubles of himself. Dabi was nowhere to be found now, as I tried to decipher between the five Twices.

Which one is the real one?!

"Heyoo, Ari Parker! Sorry about Dabi's mess. He's pretty reckless when it comes to kidnappings. Ah, but you probably remember that from Kamino, right?? With that explodey kid?" One of the Twices exclaimed, as three began charging me head on.

Did he say kidnapping?

Not having the time to strategize, I took a chance and immobilized the three Twice doubles who were charging at me, before throwing daggers at the two who remained stagnant.

To my delight, all five Twices disintegrated right before my very eyes.

Hah. They were all doubles...

"It's hilarious to me how you've managed to immobilize every possible thing in this room, but me. I thought you were supposed to be smarter than that." Dabi chuckled from behind me.

I quickly turned around, activating my quirk-

What?

It's not activating, even though the doubles disintegrated.

That means even though Twice's doubles are no longer active, the time limits on my quirk still apply. What a pain.

Having no other option, I decided to charge at Dabi, trying to catch him before he could activate his flames.

I quickly got into my fight stance, going for a-

"Roundhouse kick. That's your go to." Dabi said, automatically dodging my kick.

How did he know that?!

"What the hell!" I yelled in frustration, trying to land a hit on him before he had time to activate his fire-

"Followed by a left hook!" He called out again, easily dodging my hook, before I even threw it.

Gaging my forty five second time limit had to be up on something by now, I got ready to activate my quirk, giving my wrists-

Dabi payed close attention to my wrist movements, quickly shoving me back to throw off my balance.

"A flick of the wrists?! Oh man, you're gonna try to activate your quirk on me, aren't you? I can't have that!" Dabi laughed out, quickly grabbing a hold of my wrist and throwing me across the room.

I went flying into the wall, hearing the baseboards splinter from the force.

How does Dabi know all of these things about me? I've only fought him once.

Coughing and wheezing from lack of air, I forced myself to shuffle to my feet, realizing Dabi actually knocked me right next to the door.

Time to dip!

I threw my door open, sloppily running out of the room, hearing Dabi laughing.

"You can't hide from me, Ari Parker!" He called out, as I turned the corner of the hallway-

Slice!

I hissed in pain, stumbling to the floor when I felt a stinging pain on my cheek.

Hearing the maniacal giggles of a girl, I quickly looked up to see Toga from the league of villains. I also remember her from Kamino.

I was about to activate my quirk on her, before I felt the air knocked out of me. A kick had landed me in the stomach.

I looked up seeing another Twice.

Shit!! More doubles. This is literally a nightmare for a quirk like mine, since I can only stop three things at once.

Instead of activating my quirk on Toga, I immobilized the Twice double.

I decided to go hand to hand with Toga, since we were about the same size, quickly dodging her aggressive knife swings.

Already being on the ground, I quickly swung my leg out, knocking her feet out from under her.

I used my momentum to get to my own feet, quickly stomping my foot down on Toga' stomach-

Barely managing to look up, I slammed myself backwards into the wall, seeing a blinding blue flame coming right towards me.

Shit. I am so outnumbered!!-

In the next instant, I saw tentacles shoot out and grab Toga, who was going for another slice on my face, before restraining her tightly.

I whipped my head around to see...

"TAMAKI AMAJIKI, I LOVE YOU!!" I exclaimed, watching his cow hoof punt another Twice clone across the hallway.

"Ari!! Are you alright?! Your face is bleeding! I came out when I heard all the commotion. What's going on?!" Tamaki exclaimed, as another Twice clone came up behind him.

"BEHIND YOU!" I exclaimed, as I felt a numb, blunt force whip across my face.

I slammed back into the wall, realizing I'd been punched.

"See, the plan was to corner you alone. I can't have any other heroes getting in my way. Surely, you understand." Dabi smirked, before using a wall of blue fire to cut off my contact with Tamaki, as well as that exit from the building.

Dodging another one of Dabi's punches, I tried activating my quirk on him, realizing I must have already activated it on three other things. It's not working, and I'm too frazzled to count the seconds until I'm able to use it again.

I gave him a rough kick to the groin, quickly sprinting down another hallway to escape.

Now, I'm in the classroom hallway. I need to get to the teachers corridors. Once I'm there, I'm practically-

"Gotcha!! Sorry, Ari! But you're coming with us!" Someone exclaimed happily, before I felt harsh kick to my side. To my delight, I was running next to a glass window, so the blunt force from the kick sent me flying through it.

I crash landed into a classroom, seeing Twice jogging over to me. He's the source of these stupid doubles. If I can take him out, I have a chance at saving myself.

"Ah! Sorry, Ari! I didn't mean to hit ya that hard. I just got done watching one of those flashy action movies, where the guy does some cool body slam, and I wanted to try it out-"

Using one of the daggers I was able to bring with me, I quickly belted it at Twice's throat watching it hit his jugular perfectly.

"Yes!!" I exclaimed, before I watched Twice disintegrate before my very eyes. Fuck, it's just another double.

"No!!" I groaned out, crawling to my feet to continue my escape.

I bolted out of the classroom, seeing blue flames now blocking the direction I was trying to go.

Fucking hell Dabi is really cornering me here.

I still had two directions I could go. I needed to think about my next move very carefully. I'm now cut off from reaching the teachers and the students, meaning they can't reach me either. I don't necessarily want to head back in the direction I came. If only I had my phone. Then, I could call someone and tell them where I am-

Wait just a diddly darn minute.

I gasped in pure epiphany, as my mind flashed back to a conversation I had a few days ago with Keigo.

The HFRA.

THE HFRA!!!!

Holy shit, I forgot I had that!! I'm saved!!

If I can get to it, as many top heroes as possible will all crowd to my location in three minutes or less. The device is currently in my room, sitting in the desk by my bed.

Which means, I have to go back the way I came.

Basically, I have to go back to Dabi.

But, I don't have another choice. I need that device if I want to escape this.

I was a mess now with blood, cuts, and broken glass all decorating my appearance. My eye was swelling from Dabi's punch, and my cheek was bleeding from Toga's knife.

But even so...I can do this.

Taking a deep breath, I mentally psyched myself up for a moment, before sprinting back down the hallway.

I stepped to the side, hearing a knife whiz past me.

Barely dodged the blue flame that came my way.

Quickly immobilized a flying Twice coming straight at me.

"There you are. We missed you." I heard Dabi say mockingly, not being able to dodge the blinding blue that lit up my vision.

The bright lights of his flames disoriented me, as I felt myself stumbling around the hallway.

Hearing exerting breaths behind me, I blindly moved to the side before my arm was yanked backwards into someone's body.

The hands felt rough and stitched leading me to believe it was Dabi.

"It's over, hero in training. Give it up already-"

Activating my quirk a second time, I immobilized Dabi kicking him in the stomach as I continued my limp run towards my room.

My body was screaming at me to stop now, as the effects of this chaotic night began taking place-

Yes! There it is. My room.

Watching Toga sprinting at me from the side, I made the decision to sprint faster in an attempt to reach my room.

I took a flying dive into my doorway, rolling inside before kicking the door closed with my foot. I quickly locked it, knowing it would only give me about a thirty second window of time. If that.

Yes. All the Twice clones in my room melted away. It's just me in here.

I limped my way over to my desk, yanking it open so hard, the entire drawer flew out.

Shuffling around, I quickly found the HFRA feeling myself on the verge of tears from being so relieved.

Okay. Just press the big red button.

I quickly clamped my thumb down on the giant red button, hearing the device ding happily. A little hourglass showed up on the screen, as it began trying to activate.

I did it. I'm saved-

HFRA STATUS: NO CONNECTION FOUND.
