No One Likes A Timid Boy, Keigo

I continued walking around my dorm room, packing up my things in an overnight bag. Today was the day Keigo and I were supposed to go visit my family, and I was to meet him at the Hawks Agency in twenty minutes.

The sudden ringing of my phone made me groan slightly, as I continued trying to shove all of my stuff into a duffel bag.

I almost ignored the call, until I saw Keigo's name flash across the screen.

"What's up?" I asked, putting him on speaker as I continued packing.

"Hiya, chicky! I got a question for ya." Keigo called out loudly into the phone, the sound of blowing wind filling the background noise.

He must be flying.

"Shoot." I uttered absentmindedly.

"Sooo, which dorm room is yours?" He asked casually, causing me to stop what I was doing.

"Huh?" I replied dumbly.

"I said, which dorm room is yours? Because they all look the same from out here. I mean, guess I could try every single one, until-"

"Wait, you're here at UA? I thought you told me to meet you at the Hawks agency." I asked, going to my open window to spot Keigo.

"Yeah, but I finished packing early and I figured I'd swing by and pick you up instead-oh, I see you!" He exclaimed, abruptly hanging up on me.

I furrowed my brows in confusion, not seeing a trace of red wings in the sky.

That is, until I did-

My eyes widened as I saw Keigo's figure quickly break through the clouds, zooming towards me at a deathly speed.

He saw me from all the way up there?!? He seriously has great vision-

"Ah!-woah, HEY SLOW DOWN!" I yelled in panic, quickly backing up as Keigo appeared on my windowsill in an instant.

His sudden stop created a powerful gust of wind, that quickly knocked me back on my ass.

"Whoops! Sorry, chicky. Guess I got a bit carried away there." He chuckled, quickly hopping inside my room to help me up.

"What's with the rush?!" I laughed, grabbing his hand as he hoisted me to my feet.

"Well, I don't know if you know, but UA's got a serious restriction on bosses and interns banging-" he started off, plopping down to sit on my bed.

"Don't get ahead of yourself there, chicken boy. We're not banging yet." I stated matter of factly, looking at him in amusement.

"So, anyways I imagine it would look odd to the school security cameras if they spotted me flying into your room. I just had to be quicker, that's all." He smirked, grabbing my hand and pulling me down onto his lap.

I wrapped my arms around his neck, feeling myself becoming a little flushed at the sight of him on my bed.

He's never been in my room before.

"Quicker than the school security cameras, huh? That's like secret agent type shit. You're fast." I smiled, dipping my head down to kiss him.

"Mhmm. It's because I'm a spy." He whispered jokingly, humming softly in content when my lips meshed with his.

Keigo was clearly feeling a little needy today, as his hands immediately went to my butt, squeezing it lightly.

I rolled my eyes, as he lay back on my bed now, pulling me down with him.

"Mmm, no. No, no. Not right now." I stated quietly, hearing him groan in frustration against my mouth.

"Whyyy not?" He pouted softly, grazing his wings along my back.

Ever since Keigo and I started dating, he always wraps his wings around me whenever he gets the chance. I absolutely love it.

"Because, we're supposed to be at my parents' house in an hour. I imagine that telling them I was late, because I was hooking up with my forbidden boyfriend/boss won't be a great excuse." I laughed, giving his lips one more peck before climbing off him.

"That's a great excuse in my book." He teased lightly, watching me walk around the room.

He continued laying sprawled out on my bed for a moment, before rolling over on his side.

He didn't like to lay flat on his back, as he's told me it makes his wings a little uncomfortable.

"No way. What's this from?" He asked, grabbing the picture that was on the table next to my bed.

I looked over my shoulder at the picture, smiling softly at the memory. It was a picture of me, Mirio, Tamaki, and Nejire. We were all in our hero costumes, looking beat up....but still smiling.

"Oh, that was after our very first mission. We were able to participate in it, altogether. That picture was taken from one of the news people. But, I love it." I smiled, shoving more stuff into my duffel bag.

"Aww. Hey, that sandy background looks kinda familiar. This wouldn't happen to be from Tokyo would it? When that giant sand monster attacked the city, like two years ago?" He asked, quickly grabbing my attention.

"I-It was!! Were you there?" I asked eagerly, watching his face light up with a smile.

"Yeah. I was. I got there way later, though. I was just flying back from another mission, so I was more on the support side...but I was there. Hah, come to think of it....I remember seeing you there, too." He explained, lazily sitting himself up on my bed.

I furrowed my brows in curiosity, slightly surprised at Keigo's statement.

"What? I don't remember seeing you!" I exclaimed, waiting for him to give an explanation.

"Well, you actually saved my life that day. I kinda forgot about it, until now." He smiled, clearly reminiscing a little.

I was astounded that I didn't remember this. Keigo's a hard guy to forget. Not just because of his gorgeous wings, but because of his big personality.

More than anything, I was astounded that he did remember.

He saw my confusion, laughing softly before he continued.

"Yeah. At one point, the sand monster created this dust tornado in the sky. I was flying around, but starting to lose my flight balance from the strong gusts. Well, the sand monster shot a giant gravel spear at me and I wasn't able to dodge. I thought I was a goner, until I noticed the structure had stopped in mid air. Well, I remembered your quirk from back then, so I immediately scanned the ground for you. You were stopping the pillar from reaching me, and that gave me time to get out of the way." He explained, rubbing the back of his neck slightly.

"What do you mean from back then?" I asked, not understanding.

"Hm?"

"You said you remembered my quirk from "back then." Back then...when? Did we meet before that?" I uttered out, leaning against my wall.

Keigo's golden orbs widened for a fraction of a second, before he quickly composed himself.

"O-Oh-I just meant "back then" as in....your first year sports festival. That's all. Yeah, I watched the sports festival on tv that year, trying to find recruits. I just remembered your quirk!-Hey, speaking of that...do you know I invited you to join my agency after you won your first sports festival?" He asked, quickly changing the subject.

I smiled sheepishly, finally zipping up my duffel bag.

"Oh. Yeaaah. I declined." I cringed softly, shooting him a fake apologetic look.

"Yeah, I figured that one out, Chicky. Why did you reject me?!" He asked, clearly finding it funny that I turned him down.

I thought back to first year, when Aizawa told me I got an invitation from the Hawks Agency.

"Hah. Honestly-ugh, never mind. You're gonna think it's ridiculous." I dismissed, trying to back out of the question.

Of course, Keigo was now only more interested than before, quickly shooting up from the bed to follow me around the room.

"Do tell." He smirked, clearly wanting some gossip.

I let out a sigh of debate, before finally deciding to cave.

"Fine. But, don't laugh at me." I warned, watching him already biting down on his lip to stop himself from laughing.

"I won't." He muttered curtly, clearly intending to break that promise.

"Well....I was really excited when the Hawks Agency requested me. I actually almost accepted your invitation. But....um, so you know I'm afraid of flying. And since flying's like your thing, I was afraid we'd have to end up doing that at some point. So, I chickened out and went with Best Jeanist instead." I quickly explained, surprised he wasn't already making fun of me.

"Wait, seriously? That's why you declined?" He asked, sounding more surprised than anything.

"Well, yeah. Why else would I decline?" I asked.

"I thought you were gonna say you declined, because you heard I was a dick. Or because you were afraid you were gonna fall in love with me." He smirked, before quickly continuing.

"But, hey. I know about your fear of flying, and how scary it can be for you. I would have understood." He reassured, giving me a small smile.

A Keigo smile. Not a Hawks one.

"I know that now. But, I mean...come on, Keigs. You have to admit, you make yourself look like a total douche to the public." I reasoned, causing him to laugh softly.

I groaned in annoyance, trying to grab a jacket at the top ledge of my closet.

Damn, Mirio. He was helping me clean up the other day, and forgot I'm not eight feet tall like him.

"Chicky, you know me. And by that, I mean you already know that I'm a total douche in public and private. Don't pretend." He stated, floating a feather over to the jacket and plopping it carelessly over my head.

"No. You're not a douche. I actually think you're pretty great, and I know the public would think so too...if they knew who you really were." I reassured, seeing a text from my mom light up my phone.

"Hah. Please. They wouldn't. No one likes a timid boy." He blurted out dismissively, immediately grabbing my attention.

I looked up at him, noticing he was busy fiddling around with the knick knacks in my room. It's almost like he didn't even realize what he just said. It came out of his mouth so automatically.

"Timid? You're not timid." I uttered softly, suddenly becoming curious as to why he said something like that.

Keigo quickly stopped what he was doing, upon hearing my soft tone of voice. He trailed his eyes to me, before quickly looking up at my ceiling.

"W-What? No! Nah. Chicky, I-I'm not timid. I was just saying. A hero is supposed to be brave-it's really not important." He explained, grabbing my packed duffel and slinging it over his shoulder.

I studied him for a moment, looking for any signs of memories or emotion on his face.

Keigo sensed me looking at him, as he quickly swiped his protective glasses over his eyes and pulled up his jacket collar.

"Hey now, stop overthinking it. I can already see those pretty eyes of yours trying to make somethin' outta nothin'." He mumbled softly, lightly tapping his wing on my head.

While I wasn't totally convinced by Keigo's words, I didn't want to make the happy atmosphere go bleak. So, I decided to drop it.

For now.

"I'm not. I'll stop. I guess I just....care about you." I uttered out, internally cursing myself for sounding so mushy.

My cheeks immediately started to flush at my words, causing Keigo's smile to grow three sizes.

I expected him to deflect my statement with some cheeky, playful remark. Or say something to make me more embarrassed.

Instead....

"I care about you too, Ari....a lot. You're my girl." He smiled, pulling me in for a hug.

I felt him plant a chaste kiss on my forehead, as we reveled in each other's embrace for a moment.

"Mm, this is nice. How about we just skip my parents house, and stay in here for the weekend-" I started saying, before Keigo immediately stopped me.

"Nooope! We are going to see Susy and Michael, and we are gonna like it." He stated, releasing me from his embrace so we could finally go.

"Fine. But, don't say I didn't warn you." I mumbled, as I turned off all the lights in my dorm room.

"Ready to go?-oh, wait. How do I look?" He smirked, popping his hip out so I could inspect his appearance.

I pursed my lips, in fake thought as I shamelessly checked him out. Of course, he looked good. He always did. So much so, that it was a little irritating sometimes. We could be working out or fighting crime, and the guy still looked like a male model.

He was in his hero costume today, even though we were supposed to be having the weekend off from hero work. He had a job to do this morning. I offered to go, but he insisted I stay here and take a real day off.

"You look smokin' as usual." I shrugged, watching the mischievous glint in his eye get brighter.

"Damn, chicky. Looks like you're saying all the right things today." He laughed, wrapping his arms around my waist as we came right up to the window.

"Okay. So, I'm gonna have to speed out of here pretty fast, since I snuck in. Can you handle that?" He asked unsurely.

I felt my heart jump out of my chest at the thought, thinking I might puke.

"Yep." I choked out weakly, swallowing my nerves.

Keigo laughed at my response, clearly knowing I was about a second away from having a heart attack.

"You'd make a horrible spy. I can always tell when you're lying." He countered lightly, gripping my waist tightly as he got ready for take off-

"W-WAIT! I wanna be ready. A-At least give me a countdown." I hissed out, really just trying to stall more time.

Keigo groaned lightly, relaxing his muscles and his wings.

"Fine. We'll go on one." He shrugged, placing his own headphones around my ears.

I simply nodded, getting ready to brace myself for the countdown.

"Five...four....three-"

In the blink of an eye, I felt an amazing jolt of wind and pressure...realizing Keigo decided to go for an early take off.

ONE!!! HE SAID HE'D TAKE OFF AT ONE. NOT THREE!!

I stared blankly at the growing sky ahead, before the reality set in of what he just did.

My mouth opened as I was about to involuntarily start screaming. Keigo noticed, quickly slapping a hand over my mouth to shut me up.

Feeling irritated now, I began yelling muffled profanities at him into his hand.

"I'll slow down in a sec! Just gotta get out of UA territory!" He yelled over the aggressive winds.

Being the smart ass he was, he just had to add something else.

"Hah. Besides, when I imagined you screaming for me, I always assumed it'd be for something else."
