"Will you guys leave? We all have work to do." I groaned out, still sifting through some paper work.

Chiharu's watch clicked rhythmically as she kicked her right leg which was thrown over the other.

"Nope, we're not leaving this office until you tell us everything that's going on with you and all your pro hero mistresses and misters." She smiled as she spoke, and Daichi hummed in agreement.

We had been sitting there for over two hours, them just waiting for me to tell them everything.

"That's a long story, it would take a while," I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose.

"We've got time." Daichi informed me.

"I can tell," I grumbled under my breath.

My phone started ringing and I picked it up to look at the caller ID, which showed an unknown number. I pressed call, holding my finger up to my lips as a way to tell the adults in front of me to stay quiet.

"Detective (L/N) speaking." I spoke into the receiver.

"You are receiving a call from an inmate at Fuchลซ Prison. To accept this call, please press one. Send to voicemail ifโ€”"

I pulled the phone away from my ear, looking at the people in front of me, who were leaning out of their chairs in anticipation.

"Can you leave my office please, this is an important call I have to take." I told more than asked them.

"Not until you tell us everything." Daichi demanded.

"If you leave now and let me take this call, I'll tell you everything," I said, finally caving, "it's not that interesting anyway."

"Deal!" Chiharu exclaimed, grabbing Daichi's wrist and leading him to the door.

"And no listening either!" I yelled after them as they shut the door behind them.

I sighed, pressing one and putting the phone back up to my ear.

"Finally!" Exclaimed an excited voice, "you took forever to pick up!"

"Sorry Toga, I had to get some people out of my office." I explained, smiling to myself. "How've you been?"

"I could be better, jail isn't very cute you know." I could hear her pouting over the phone.

I chuckled at her words, feeling happy at the fact she hadn't changed.

"I know Toga, and I'm sorry. I'll have to bring you something to make your cell brighter."

"Oh, would you, that'd be amazing! I'd guard it with my life!" She sounded so excited.

"I'll go look for something and bring it to you, ok?" She squealed in excitement at my promise.

"Yay! Oh! I called because you're going back to work today! I wanted to ask how it was going!"

"It's going well! Some friends gave me some gifts to celebrate and I went to lunch with two friends of mine."

"I wish I were there with you! We would have so much fun!" She exclaimed.

"We would, I wish you were here too." I smiled sadly, thinking about how I put her there in that drab cell.

"I mean, you could always break me out..." Toga suggested in a sing song tone.

"Toga, you know I can't do that." I said sadly.

"I know." I heard a thud and I could only assume she had slumped against the wall beside the phone. "I know what I did was wrong, but it was so much fun! How could I not want to do it over and over?!"

"Well honey, most people don't find murder fun, since it's messy and illegal." She huffed in response, saying she knew.

"Oh! Dabi and I saw you on the news the other day! I used to have a crush on Deku you know, back when he was at U.A.! But not anymore, I grew out of that puppy love stuff." She explained. "And we saw what you said about us! I thought it was really sweet."

"I was only speaking my mind Toga babe." She squealed at my words, and I heard stomping as if she was jumping in excitement.

"Aw, thanks!"

We made idle conversation a bit, talking about whatever could.

"Well, I wanted to call and tell you congratulations on going back to work! If you were anyone else, I would threaten you to stay at home, but since we're best friends, I won't do that!" She sounded so excited, her voice was high with happiness which was something that fascinated me about her.

"Well thank you Toga. I hope your day goes well, and I'll stop by and see you guys soon, yeah?"

"Yay! I love it when you come and visit!"

"I enjoy it too."

"The guard says I have to go now, but I'll talk to you soon! Bye bye! Love you bestie!" She exclaimed.

I laughed, smiling despite myself.

"Love you too. Bye bye."

The dial tone rang in my ear as Toga hung up, and I sighed contentedly while putting my phone down.

"It's nice to hear from her, felon or not." I murmured to myself.

I was about to stand up to bring Daichi and Chiharu back in the room (as I'm not one to break a promise), but my phone ringing stopped me.

I answered without looking at the number, answering how I always did.

"You are receiving a call from an inmate at Fuchลซ Prison. To receive this call-"

I cut of the robot on the end of the line by pressing one.

"Dabi?" I asked, halfway hoping the burnt man would be on the other end.

"Hey doll face, how'd you know it was me?" He responded.

"I just got off the phone with Toga."

"Damn, did she tell you I was gonna call?" He asked. "Because this was supposed to be a surprise."

I laughed, thinking about how he wanted to surprise me by calling. It was sweet.

"No, she didn't say anything. What's going on with you?" I asked, sitting back down.

"Nothing as big as going back to work. Huh? Yeah? You're back today right?" I could hear how happy he was for me, which was stupid of him when you consider how we met and how we parted ways.

"I am, it feels great to be back at my desk."

"I sure it does. Hey, Toga and I saw you on the news about that Deku guy." He told me, "You guys aren't dating right? Like secretly?"

"No, we're not dating secretly. Everything I said was true." He let out a sigh, saying he was glad that he didn't have to break out of jail to make sure Izuku was good enough.

"You know," he said after we had talked for a while, "every week or so the staff replaces my staples to keep them 'sanitary.' They were sanitary before, I was fine!" He exclaimed.

"How often did you change them before?" I asked.

"About every month or two."

"Dabi!"

"What, it was fine, I'm fine!"

"You could have gotten an infection from the rust dude! It's good that they're changing them so often, it keeps you safe." I explained. Once a month?! Really?!

"I was safe before," he mumbled and I heard someone else speak in the background.

Dabi groaned a bit in response, saying "alright, alright, fine."

"Well squirt, the bitch ass guard here says my times up. You know, this whole jail thing isn't that great." I chuckled, saying I knew.

"Bye squirt. Don't... get shot... or whatever on the job, ok? I care about you." He said, sounding hesitant.

"Aw, you do care!"

"See, I knew you were gonna do that squirt."

"Yeah yeah. I love you too Dabi. Bye."

"Bye."

The dial tone rang in my ear again and smiled to myself. I sat there for a moment, just smiling.

"Well," I said standing up, "guess I have to go get the idiots."

Fun Fact: (Y/N) has a huge tie collection and it includes limited edition pro hero ties.

So I have two MHA books in my drafts, and I want to start posting one soon, but I'm not sure which one. So what if I dropped teasers for both in the next chapter and let you guys decide? ๐Ÿ‘€

The next chapter is over 2000 words ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Reminder: I know it's hard, believe me I know. But it's time to let them go. I know you love them. They'll always be in a special place in your heart, they'll be there with you whenever life gets tough. You'll feel them there, trust me. I love you ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž
