Bakugo was walking towards us, hair still spiked perfectly despite the fight that just occurred, his gauntlets swinging with his arms.
"What the hell?!" He yelled when he approached me. "You didn't tell me about you had other quirks!"
"In my defense, you didn't ask." I retorted, making Sero stifle a laugh.
"Shut up Elbows!" Bakugo exclaimed, making Sero laugh harder.
"Where did they come from?!" He yelled, turning to me.
"You of all people should know, Lord." I said. I looked around to make sure no one else was watching or listening. "After all, I did the same thing to you."
"You stole other people's quirks?!" He whisper yelled back frantically, leaning towards me.
"They consented!"
"You have his quirk?!" Sero whisper yelled at me, leaning in towards us.
"Yes!" We said simultaneously, turning to Sero.
We turned back to each other, Bakugo glaring at me.
"Are you sure they consented?"
"Most of them."
"Only most?!"
"I was a dumb kid! I may or may not have stolen a few strangers quirks!" I whisper yelled, Bakugo's face close to mine.
"Which was it dumbass? Did you or did you not?!" He exclaimed back quietly.
"Can you really not figure that out from what I told you already?!"
"Excuse me," said a new voice, making Bakugo and I turn. As we turned, our cheeks pressed together, which shouldn't have happened unless Bakugo moved forward. We pulled away from each other, seeing the police officer in front of us.
"Yes officer, what can we do for you?" I asked, smiling.
"You're the woman that Hawks was swinging around right?" He asked me, staring me down.
"Yes sir."
"I'm gonna need you to come with me, you're under arrest for illegal quirk use." He told me, beckoning my closer with his hand.
"With all due respect, officer," Bakugo started stepping closer to him. I put my arm out, stopping him in place.
"How long have you been on the force officer?" I asked.
"Only a few weeks ma'am, now turn around." He answered.
"Oh, I see. My name is (L/N) (Y/N), as in the head Detective in the prefecture." I said, knowing that all police personnel knew my name and that I had a hero license.
"That's a lovely name, ma'am. Turn around please." He sighed, twirling his finger around.
"Listen officer-" Bakugo started again, making me hit him in his chest.
"Heel." I told the blonde, looking at him. I turned back towards the police officer, feeling my back pocket.
I don't have my wallet with me, it's on my desk. I left it so I wouldn't loose it during the fight.
"I don't have my wallet with me, but I can assure you officer, I have a hero license." I said, laughing lightly.
"I don't see any proof. Come with me." He said, staring me down.
"I'm not getting out of this am I?" I asked. The officer shook his head, twirling his finger around again.
I sighed, turning and putting my hands behind my back. I felt cold metal clasp my wrists tightly, uncomfortably so.
I gave my wrists a few tugs, the chain remaining intact. I tried submerging into my head space, but my eyes just rolled back.
This bitch just quirk cancelled me.
"Let's go." The officer said, seizing my arm and walking me towards a police car.
"You're just gonna take that?!" Bakugo yelled at me.
I turned, shrugging as best I could.
"I don't have my license on me, there's not much else I can do!"
We approached a cruiser, and I stood silently as the officer opened the car door, his hand still on my arm.
"Hello Agent," the chief said as he passed.
"Hello Chief Suzuki," I answered.
The chief took a few steps back, looking me up and down.
The officer that brought me over tugged me forward lightly, putting his hand on my head to duck it down and into the cruiser.
"Fujii." The chief said.
"Yes Chief Suzuki!" The officer exclaimed, snapping to attention.
"Why the hell is Detective (L/N) ducking into your cruiser?"
"Illegal quirk use sir!" Exclaimed Fujii, eyes staring straight ahead and his body still ridged.
"Chief, it's not his fault." I said, making Fujii look back at me. I leaned forward and turned my head back to look at Suzuki, who leaned forward to look at me. "I left my wallet on my desk to come help with the fight, so I had no proof. Don't punish the guy, he's just doing his job."
Suzuki narrowed his eyes at me, staring a moment before nodding.
"Alright. Fujii. Get her out of that cruiser and out of those cuffs now." The chief demanded, making Fujii nod and start helping me out of the car. "And a word of advice." Suzuki leaned towards Fujii, their faces close. "Don't ever arrest Detective (L/N) unless she tells you to. Got it?" He spoke slowly and calmly.
Fujii swallowed, nodding before turn back to the handcuffs on my wrists.
We both watched as the chief walked away, the cold metal leaving my wrists. I rubbed them, trying to get the feeling of handcuffs to go away.
"I apologize detective!" Fujii exclaimed, making me turn towards him. He bowed deeply, at a perfect ninety degree angle.
Ok, pack it up fifteen year old Iida.
"Really officer, it's fine. You were just doing your job. I didn't have my license on me, what were you supposed to do?" I said laughing and putting my hand on his shoulder.
"Thank you for understanding Detective!" He exclaimed, bowing again.
"Anytime. Call me if the station needs any help alright?" I said, patting his shoulder. I turned, walking away.
God cops are weird.
"Agent!" Yelled Iida from behind me, making me turn.
"Ingenium! We seem to keep running into each other today, how crazy." I said sarcastically, hooking my hands in my pockets and my thumbs in my belt loops.
"Well of course," he responded as he stopped in front of me, removing his helmet, "we just fought together! How would we do that without seeing one another?"
"It was- you know what? You're right. What did you need?" I asked, giving up on explaining.
"I wanted to see if you'd let me walk you back to the agency."
"That's fine, I can walk back myself." I assured him, about to turn towards the street I needed to go down.
"I insist Agent. Consider it a thank you for your bravery." He blurted out. I sighed, nodding my head and letting him walk up beside me.
We walked mostly in silence, the only noises we made were our foot steps and the clinking of Iida's armor.
It was peaceful between us. Words not needing to be spoken, both of us knowing what the other was thinking. The sky was a bright blue when I looked up, almost too bright compared to the dim grey of the fog I had just been in. My adrenaline had faded by now, the pain coming back to me.
My back hurt from Pitch's ball, along with my head from both being swung through the air while upside down and possible overuse of my quirk. I would have been cold, but I wasn't. Thanks Shoto.
We stopped in front of the agency, my eyes scanning the front window, my name and the number printed on it. I looked through the glass door, seeing Chiharu typing away at her desk.
"Agent." Iida said, turning to me. I hummed, giving him my attention. "Forgive me. I know this is not the best time to talk about this but I just wanted to say thank you for everything you did for me that night." He explained, bowing his head slightly. I smiled softly at his words.
"Thank you for trusting me. I just did what anyone should in the situation."
Iida's face twisted into a small smile. His smile was nice. His teeth were weirdly perfect, showing a bit through his lips.
"I'd like to spend more time together if you don't mind!" He exclaimed, chopping the air with his hand. "Perhaps we could go get a drink! Or something!" He seemed almost nervous.
"I'd love that Ingenium."
God Iida makes me soft.
Fun Fact: Whenever (Y/N) goes under cover, (which is more often than she'd like to admit), it's usually as a prostitute or a stripper since they can be easy targets. The outfits she wears for those occasions are literally just her outfits from high school. She just repurposed them.
Me, starting this book: it'll be like, thirty, forty chapters tops.
Me now, realizing it'll probably be over a hundred chapters, ninety at least:
