TRIGGER WARNING: MISSING CHILD, VAGUE DESCRIPTION OF A CORPSE.
PROCEED.
I placed the last pin on the corner of the map, effectively pinning it up. Stepping back, I looked at it in full, a full map of the prefecture.
Ok, Sakai and her son live here.
I stuck a pin over where they lived, in a nice neighborhood with good people.
Sakai's ex-husband lives here.
Another pin, about twenty centimeters from the first.
Then they trade off here.
Another pin.
Then father and son never showed.
Sakai, that what the woman's name was. She was supposed to pick up her son from his father at their usual meeting place, a parking lot in between the two homes.
"They're always on time!"
She claims her quirk went out of control, making her black out once she realized they didn't show. She says her quirk is called Other, and it gives her another personality.
"My son loves us both, we're both his mother!"
When I asked to see this other personality, she told me that she never got proper quirk training so it's really hard to just call her other personality up.
"No one taught me how to control it..."
I asked why her other personality didn't do anything once they didn't show, maybe take over or something. She claimed her other personality doesn't care for her son the way she does.
"We may both be his mother, but she doesn't care for him the way I do."Β
When I asked about the father, she said he had left her and it was a messy divorce. Once she left the agency I got Daichi to search his history. Clean, of course, but Sakai herself had a bit a of a violent history.
When she burst into the agency screaming, she only mentioned her son. Not her husband. Obviously she still had unsolved feelings against him because of the divorce.
Usually in a missing child's case, the first twenty-four hours are crucial. After that, there's a less than five percent chance the child will survive.
I didn't tell Sakai, but I expected to find her son dead.

"(Y/N)!" Chiharu yelled, making me run to the front desk.
"What?"
"Police just found a male body fitting the description of Ono Akemi." She informs me.
"Sakai's ex-husband." I muttered to myself. "Where?"
(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)
Ono Akemi, a saint on paper and Sakai's ex husband. He honestly seemed like a perfect guy. Dark hair and light eyes, a jawline that could cut glass. He seemed perfect.
But his dead body, sprawled out against the concrete of an alley, limps all other the place, half under a dumpster didn't seem so perfect.
His cause of death was a stab to the throat, though there were other stab wounds all over the body.
"Overkill?" I muttered, looking over the scene.
Alright so this is him raging. Why? What did Ono do?
The place was obviously just a dump site, since there was no blood on the concrete. How long had he been dead? How long had the unsub waited before dumping his body?
(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)
"Hey Daichi."
"Hey. Get this." Daichi started and I heard his pen click over the phone. He was in game mode.
"What's up?"
"Two years ago across the country, there was a woman named Nakano Urano who reported her ex-husband and her daughter missing, the husband later being found dead in an alley withβ get thisβ a stab wound to the throat and severe overkill to the body." He explained, clicking his tongue when he finished.
"What happened to the child?"
"That's the thing. The police then received an anonymous call that the daughter was in a shipping container. When they checked all the shipping containers at the nearby harbor, low and behold, there's the daughter, passed out with a bruise on her wrist and no memory of what happened." Daichi explained. "Seems a little sus to me."
"So this has happened before?"
"Yes, multiple times over the past ten years, but two years ago was the first time it happened in Japan."
"Where was it happening before?" I asked, walking down a hallway towards the medical examiners office to get the report on Ono's body.
"America."
"Keep me posted," I demanded, already noting to call Noah after I get this report.
"Your wish is my command!"
(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)/(/)
Ono's report did not come back as clean as I expected. There were rather questionable amounts of methamphetamine in his system, enough to signify that he took it within the last twenty-four hours.
Strange.
Before I could take out my phone to call Noah, Chiharu called from the desk phone.
"Yes?"
"Sakai's here but she freaks out whenever I call her that. She's demanding to see you." Chiharu said quickly.
Her other personality.
"Be there in ten."
When I get there, Sakai's on me the minute I'm through the door.
"Agent! I need to talk to you!"
Sakai never told me their name. I'm guessing they'd have the same family name.
"Sakai, let's go to my office, we can talk there." I urged, leading her away and towards my office.
"Don't fucking call me that! My name is Sugimoto!" The woman screamed, gripping my shoulders tightly.
Different family name?
"Alright, alright Sugimoto, let's go talk in my office." I said again, leading her down the hallway.
We sat in my office, on the couch as she had asked.
"I've talked to Sakai already, what do you have to tell me?" I asked quietly, as not to anger the woman. She seemed to get upset easily.
"I wanted to come and tell you what that bitch did!" She exclaimed. My eyes widened in surprise.
"Who?"
"Sakai! She fucking killed her ex-husband! I have proof too!" Sugimoto yelled, waving her hands around in her anger.
What?
"Alright, let's back track, why do you want to tell me this?" I asked softly, trying desperately to calm the woman down.
"Because I hate her! I fucking hate her! She deserves to rot in a cell!" Sugimoto screamed.
"Alright, alright Sugimoto, let's calm down and breathe. Can you do that for me? Breathe." I inhaled deeply and Sugimoto did the same, our chests rising mostly in sync. I breathed out and she followed, visibly calmer than before.
"Alright, are you calmed down now?" I asked, rubbing Sugimoto's shoulder. She nodded, swallowing hard.
This other personality... it doesn't seem like a quirk. But it's not like I can check in her head space without her permission. I can only do so once she becomes a suspect.
"Now you can tell what you want to tell me." I said in a quiet voice, trying to keep her calm.
She breathed shakily in and out, closing her eyes.
"Sakai ordered a hit on her ex-husband."
"She did what?"
π¬π¬
Am I about to cheat in virtual PE class? Maybe.
Fun Fact: (Y/N) had to stop herself from saying "Deadass?" when Sugimoto told her about the hit.
Reminder: Don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't do. You are your own boss bitch, one who doesn't have to listen to anyone else. I love you all ππ
Over and out.
