"How did they even get one?" Cellophane exclaimed.

"I don't know, but now it's our problem." I answered, running towards it.

The fog around me started thinning, letting me see what was around me.

The fog was never the main point of attack, it was merely a distraction. How could I not see that?

"Agent!" Yelled several voices behind me. I paid them no mind and continued running, my hands getting unbearably cold.

I approached the monsters feet, looking up at it.

Ok, channel your inner Shoto.

I grunted as I threw my hands forward and up, ice sprouting from my hands. It incased the Nomu's feet, making it roar in frustration. I shivered, cold racking my body, making my knees almost start shaking.

"Agent, you need to go," Iida said once he stopped in front of me, "these things have targets and no doubt that target is you. It's too dangerous."

"It'll break through the ice soon," I started, rubbing my arms to get some warmth, "no doubt, when's backup coming? If they get here within the next minute, we could totally take this guy down. Where's Cellophane, he could possibly restrain it-"

"Agent!" Iida yelled, interrupting me, "leave, please!"

"I can't Ingenium," I said, looking at him. "Not while there are innocent people in danger. I may not be a hero like you, but I sure as hell was raised to be one. We're not as different as you think we are. We both want the public to be safe." I shot back, tearing my gaze from the armored man.

I heard him sigh deeply through his helmet.

"Alright then. What did you have in mind?" I smiled at him wide, opening my mouth to speak.

I was rudely interrupted by the Nomu roaring and bending at the ankles, effectively breaking my ice.

Bitch rude, I almost got hypothermia for that.

"Change of plans." I said, looking up at the Nomu. It was a replication of the one from the USJ attack back at U.A. all those years ago, with its brain exposed and the beak of a bird. The only difference was this one was bigger.

"Let's go, let's get to the other heroes," Iida insisted, staring up at the monster as well. "Let me carry you, it'll be faster that way."

Without saying a word, I put my hand on his shoulder and jumped up, letting him catch me. He took off and I shut my eyes to keep from getting motion sick.

"Here," I heard Iida say and I opened my eyes, hopping down.

"What do we do?" Ochaco asked.

"The villains (L/N) sent us to fight are all either in police custody or tied down somewhere right?" Hawks asked, looking from face to face. The heroes nodded and hummed in agreement.

"Alright, we need a plan of attack and we need it now, we shouldn't even be gathered like this." I said.

"Hey!" Yelled a voice from behind Ochaco. We all turned and there was Denki, running towards us.

"Chargebolt!" I exclaimed. "I think I have a plan guys."

I stood in my position, watching as heroes attacked the Nomu. They had arrived while I talked through a plan with everyone else, the whole lot.

Bakugo, Shoto, Izuku, Yaoyorozu, Mina.

The beast hissed and slapped its legs when Mina's acid landed on its skin, burning through his hand as well.

Alright, just wait for the signal.

I tore my eyes away from the sight in front of me, looking to where Ochaco and Iida were.

They stood, Ochaco in Iida's arms, both looking up. I watched them as they nodded and Iida took off.

This is it.

The Nomu roared, swatting at the heroes around him.

Ochaco reached out from her spot in Iida's grasp, trailing her hands along the monster's ankles.

It tried the scratch her, or swat her away, but Iida was too quick.

They went around and around for about thirty seconds, but with Iida's speed, they must have gone around more than thirty or forty times.

"Go!" Ochaco yelled, making Hawks take off from the rooftop he was perched on.

He flew towards another building, where Denki was doing a shaky handstand. Hawks grabbed Denki's ankles as he flew by, soaring through the air with the hero dangling from his hands.

Denki let out a loud whoop as Hawks flew towards the Nomu's head.

"Two million volts!" Denki screamed, pointing his hands at the beast's exposed brain. The Nomu screamed in pain when the lighting hit, bending to his knees.

Iida ran forward, Ochaco touching the monsters knees as she went by. Putting her fingers together once she passed, the Nomu started to rise into the air.

The Nomu twitched and jerked from the electricity, it roared and writhed, trying to touch the ground again.

Hawks dropped Denki off at a rooftop, flying in my direction.

I saw the equations as he approached, seeing when the perfect time was.

Now.

I put my hands on the ground in front of me, balancing my body in the air, the perfect handstand.

I blew my tie out of my face, letting out a surprised yell when Hawks wrapped his hands around my ankles.

"Ready kid?" He yelled down at me.

"Ready!"

I flew over the Nomu, sprouting ice from my hands and encasing its wrists. I did the same to it's feet, before Hawks threw me into the air.

I looked up at the sky in a moment of pure bliss, looking at the clouds around me.

The air was sharp and crisp, absolute heaven to breathe in. It was peaceful up here. The trees on the outskirts of the city blew calmly in the wind, making everything else around me fade away.

It was just me and the air.

I envy you, Hawks. I thought. I want to see this everyday.

My moment was interrupted by Hawks catching me again and flying to the closest rooftop. He set me down on the cement of the roof, taking a moment to breathe.

"I'll see you later. Think about what I said." He told me, flying off before I could answer.

I got up and watched him and Dark Shadow push the suspended Nomu towards the fields outside the city, Ochaco leaning out the sky room of a cop car, fingers touching and face slightly green.

This is a lot for her.

I felt bad, since it would be a while before they actually got out of the city and she couldn't put the Nomu down till then.

Sighing deeply, I leaned against the wall on the building.

Looking up, I saw the sky I had just seen moments ago. It was different now. Duller.

I have to see that again. I need to feel it again.

I rolled my shoulders back, stretching my arms. I fixed my shirt, tucking it back into my pants and straightening it out, fixing my tie.

I teased my hair and closed my eyes, humming softly to myself.

This was never in my job description.

Turning, I located the roof access, walking over and pulling the door open. I started down the stairs and entered the cold hallway, listening to the soft music coming from one of the offices.

Making my way to the elevator, I found myself singing along with it softly. It was a song I hadn't heard in a long time, not since I was last in America.

I remembered that day with Noah. He was determined to show me American things, movies and music and the like.

"It's an older song, from about 1973," he told me. I remember wondering how he even knew about it, after all, it was over two hundred years old. "Just listen."

"Strumming my pain with his fingers," I hummed under my breath as I pressed the down button.

"Singing my life with his words," I stepped back, waiting for the elevator.

"Killing me softly with his song," the doors opened, the elevator dinging.

"Killing me softly... with his song," I walked through the doors, turning and pressing the button for the first floor.

"Telling my whole life with his words," I mumbled out, watching the doors close.

"Killing me softly."

WHEN I TELL YOU KILLING ME SOFTLY WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAINโ€”

The last scene was a bit self indulgent, but I think it's just so haunting. Just the thought of being in a cold and empty hallway and hearing that through the walls gives me chills.

Fun Fact: The building (Y/N) is in is rumored to be haunted, so when the people in the offices heard (Y/N) singing, some thought it was the ghost.

Reminder: Go do your school work. That's it. That's the reminder. Don't procrastinate on it because you'll regret it later. Do it now and save yourself the worry and the stress, ok? I love you ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž
