I laughed at a joke Mina told as we walked along the darkened streets of downtown Musutafu. Kirishima walked beside me to my left, Mina on my right.
"So a little birdy told me you helped Mirio with some of his classes the other day, (L/N)." Kirishima said, looking at me.
"Yeah, I did."
"Hey, no way! That's so cool!" Mina exclaimed, looking up at me with wide eyes.
"It was pretty cool." I said, rubbing the back of my neck. "They're all so talented, it's insane."
"Did you meet that Kasai kid? With the weight quirk?" Kirishima asked.
"I did! He was amazing in combat, using his quirk to fling himself around like that."
"I'm glad you liked him! He interned at my agency his first year, and I was really impressed with him." He informed me, smiling again.
"Hold on, back track, I'm still caught on the fact (Y/N) taught a class!" Mina exclaimed.
Kirishima and I laughed, and I looked down at Mina.
"It was a lot of fun, especially watching them spar. They put all they had into it. It was so inspiring!" I exclaimed.
"That's so awesome! I sometimes step in on classes at the USJ, but other than that I'm just a pro hero who's a model on the side." Mina said, adjusting the purse strap on her shoulder.
"Wait, you're a model?" I asked. This was news to me.
"Yeah, I'm an InstaGram model, haven't you seen my posts?" She asked.
"No, I've only been on InstaGram for about a month. I don't think I follow you." I said.
"Well that makes sense! I mostly just try and promote body positivity. Make other women feel good about their bodies." She smiled at me and heart melted a little bit.
"Mina, that's so awesome!" I exclaimed.
"What about here guys?" Kirishima said out of nowhere, pointing across from us.
He was pointing at the ramen place Bakugo took me the night we met.
"That place makes great food, I'm game."
"I'm in!" Mina lumped her fist in the air and I giggled at her antics.
We entered and sat down at an empty table. We ordered and I looked around, smelling the spices in the air. I could see the table Bakugo and I sat at, imagining how we must have looked from here. I chuckled when I realized that whoever was sitting here had the perfect view of Bakugo's face when I used his quirk.
"What's funny?" Kirishima asked, sticking out his tongue to feel around for his straw.
"When I met Bakugo, this is where he took me to eat. From here you have a perfect view of the table we sat at." I pointed to the table, which was empty today.
"Wait, Bakugo comes here?" Mina asked, looking shocked.
"Are you guys not supposed to know that?" I asked, making them both laugh.
"We used to drag him here all the time in high school." Mina told me, leaning forward with her chin in her hand. Her other hand played with a piece of her hair, twirling it around her finger.
"What was it he used to say? Something like 'This food is shit,' or something?" Kirishima asked, using a high pitched voice.
"'This food is shit! Why the hell did you bring me here, can they even cook back there?!'" Mina exclaimed, scrunching up her face and using a deep voice to mock the blonde.
I laughed, throwing my head back.
"That definitely sounds like Bakugo." I said, taking a sip of the tea I had.
"Speaking of him, have you seen him since your rescue? I know he was really worried about you." Kirishima asked.
"He came by my apartment the other day just to check on me and make sure I was alright." I informed them both.
Kirishima sniffled. "So manly." Mina and I chuckled before she turned to me.
"So did you guys make out?"
"Mina!"
"What, it's a valid question!"
"No we didn't make out." I said before they started yelling and drawing attention.
"Then what did you do?" Mina asked, leaning forward. The waiter came with our bowls and she sat back, letting the man place them down in front of us. After he left, Mina turned her attention back to me. "Spill, I want to hear every detail!" She exclaimed excitedly as she split the egg in her ramen.
"Yeah, what has Bakubro been up to lately? Nothing unmanly I hope." Kirishima said, unwrapping his chopsticks.
"Sorry guys," I said, grabbing some noodles, "I can't say."
"No way! Come on, what happened?" Mina exclaimed, mouth wide.
"I'm on the edge of my seat here." Kirishima said, laughing.
"Per Bakugo's request, I cannot tell the activities that went on in my apartment the night after I was rescued." I laughed and ate another bite of my ramen.
"The night after?! Damn he works fast!" Mina exclaimed, back hitting the back of the seat of our booth.
"Of course he does, have you seen his numbers?" I asked, leaning forward.
"I know right! He's always so focused, it's crazy!" Kirishima exclaimed.
"But then again, you know him." I said. They both looked at me.
"What do you mean?" Kirishima asked.
"Well, I may not have been in your class, but I heard his speeches about how he was going to be number one. Even at the sports festival. He was determined. I knew he was going to far." I explained, sipping my drink.
"When he was kidnapped by the League, I knew, I just knew, they wouldn't be able to break him. I remember sitting in my living room home alone, watching the news panel. I was thinking there was no way that they could turn him villain! There's no way, he's too determined to be a hero." I took another bite of ramen.
"Didn't the second years go on a trip like ours though?" Mina asked, cocking her head to the side. Kirishima elbowed her. "What was that for?"
"He's telling you to not ask that because I was expelled. Right after the sports festival actually." Mina seemed to pale, opening her mouth to apologize. "No, no," I said laughing, "it's fine, it's fine, really."
"You're sure?" She asked.
"Of course! I'm not mad about it, not anymore at least. I'm kinda glad it happened actually." I said, smiling. Mina sighed in relief.
"You're glad that it happened?" Kirishima asked.
"Of course! Without my expulsion, I wouldn't have met Chiharu or Daichi. I wouldn't be a detective. There's so many things I wouldn't have done. So in the end, yeah, I'm glad I was expelled." I said, leaning back and smiling at them both. They looked at me with glittering eyes.
"You have such a good attitude about it! It's so manly!" Kirishima exclaimed.
"Yeah! You're such an inspiration!" Mina exclaimed.
I laughed, making them both flush the tiniest bit.
"I just decided a while ago to live my truth. And look where that got me."
Almost to chapter fifty! I have no clue what to do for it, or even if I should do something for it. What would you want me to do if I do anything?
...you should check out the book I published yesterday if you haven't already. I know most of you guys love Iida so...
So I might have to cut someone really important to me off because of different views on certain things, mostly because I'd feel like a hypocrite being with them and knowing they thought the way they thought. It hasn't even happened yet and I'm pretty torn up about it. So today's reminder is this: never change yourself for someone else. Don't lower your standards or expectations for anyone. If they make you feel the need to change yourself for them, then they aren't loving you right. You are beautiful; absolutely stunning inside and out darling ๐๐
Fun Fact: - Iida has a shoe brand! It's mostly running shoes, but you can get sport shoes like cleats and basketball high tops. The emblem for the brand is a stick man running.
IF YOU ARE PROTESTING OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS: please stay safe. Cover any identifiable scars, tattoos or piercings. Try to keep the protests peaceful, I'm begging you, but I know it's hard when cops pull out weaponry.
Stay safe my loves ๐๐
