As I fell through the air, only two things crossed my mind.
'Oh shit, what if I die?'
And it's cousin;
'Oh shit, I just jumped off a building.'
Everything seemed to happen in slow motion, from my hair whipping around my head to the cold night air rushing past. I was cold. So, so cold. The romper I wore was flimsy and thin, so it didn't shield me from the angry jaws of the bitter cold. And it was silent. So utterly silent, I could only hear my own heart beat, fast and hard, hammering against my rib cage with reckless abandon.
My limbs were like string in a breeze, shaky and unreliable. They swung around my body and I felt that I had no control. It was freeing. And terrifying.
I look up just in time to see Tomura slam himself against the wall on the roof, and scream. He reaches a hand toward me, but all I do is continue to fall.
I stare up at him with empty eyes and everything is silent. I feel my heart start beating faster, if that's even possible, as I fall farther and farther. I might die.
My eyes widen in fear until I feel a body slam into mine, sending me flying to the right. I squeeze my eyes shut as the silence consuming me faltered and fell away, as arms clamped around my sides. I heard shouts and Tomura's screams, but what I heard loudest of all was the beating of wings.
I open my eyes and I see a large red dragon holding me close to it's own body, staring straight ahead. I had to stifle a laugh.
"The hell did you have to eat for this?" I ask.
"Dragon gummies." Tamaki murmured. I felt us slowly descend until Tamaki landed on the ground. He placed me on a gurney, which was almost instantaneously wheeled away. But I watched as the wings shortened and disappeared into his back and the horns were absorbed into his skin. The color of his skin lightened and his hair grew from his head, along with ears that kept growing until they formed a sharp point.
"(Y/N)!" Izuku yells, running over to me and not hesitating to throw his arms around me.
"Excuse me sir, but you have to let us check her out first." The nurse said, annoyed that Izuku was hugging his possibly injured patient.
"I'm fine, I swear." I said to the nurse, hugging Izuku in return and sliding from the gurney.
"You're back. You're safe." We sat and hugged until he pulled himself away from he with a harsh movement. "Did he hurt you?" He asks sternly, his gaze suddenly menacing.
"No. He didn't." I left out details, because who knows what Izuku will do if he loses his temper.
"Dumbass!" Bakugo yells from behind Izuku, jogging over to us.
"Bakugo!" I yell in return, breaking away from Izuku and meeting Bakugo halfway.
I wrapped my arms around my waist and buried my face in his chest. He didn't know what to do, his hands up in the air like he was surrendering to the police. He slowly placed his arms around me, hugging me in return. I look up at him, only to find that he's tearing up.
"Hey, hey, hey," I said, wiping a tear as it fell down his cheek, "I'm here."
"I know." He whispered. "But I was so scared." He looked up, and when he looked down again, the only clue he had cried where the red whites of his eyes. "You tell anyone I cried-"
"You're secret is safe with me." He smiles down at me, and I stare right back. "Is Nessie ok? Did you take care of her, because I swear to God-"
"Oh, shut up, you already know I took care of your dumb motorcycle."
"Ok, that's enough weirdos," Chiharu states harshly, pushing Bakugo away from me, "you're back."
"I'm back."
"She's back!" Daichi yelled from behind Chiharu.
Both of them looked like shit. Their hair was messy and their clothes were tattered, they looked exhausted.
"You guys need a nap and a comb dear God." I say, laughing.
"We spent every minute we had trying to make sure this plan would work out. We had like eight backup plans just in case." Daichi explained. "Does my hair look that bad?" He whispered to himself, running his hands through his hair.
I laughed and hugged them both, Chiharu having an especially hard time letting me go.
"We're here! We're here!" A bubbly voice yelled. "(Y/N)!" I turn and see Mina, Yaoyorozu, Jiro and Uraraka floating towards us. Uraraka had her hands together, fingertips meeting each other. The girls dropped down from a safe height, and instantly Mina stumbled before running and engulfing me in her arms.
Jiro and Yaoyorozu followed, making a group hug and once she recovered from her near sickness, Uraraka joined as well.
They were all in their hero suits, meaning they came straight from duty.
"We were so worried! What happened to you?" Mina asked.
"It's a long story." I simply say, not particularly in the mood to tell of the long hours I spent in Tomura's arms.
"Group hug!" I hear Kaminari yell. Everyone joined in on our group hug. At one point I felt someone kiss my cheek, and when I turned to see who it was, all I found was a bright red Sero burying his face in my shoulder. Eventually, everyone broke away and I started to greet everyone.
"(Y/N). You're home." A cold voice says from beside me. I turn and see Shoto staring at me. He's in his hero uniform and his right side was covered in ash.
"Shoto." I whisper, escaping Sero's grasp and throwing my arms around his neck. He wraps his arms around my waist, lifting me up and spinning me. I squeal a bit, and he puts me down.
"You're here, you're really here." He says, grasping my face.
"I am, I'm back, I'm home." I say, smiling.
"(Y/N)! My baby! Oh my darling!" A high pitched voice says from behind me. My throat tightens and my breathing quickens. I can't move.
"(Y/N)?" Shoto asks.
I finally blink hard, taking Shoto's hands from my face and turning.
"Mother."
This chapter is a bit shorter than normal, but I hope you enjoyed anyway!
(Y/N)'s back.
Over and out.
