Hitoshi and I didn't say a word as we toted Denki back to the apartment. We had to switch directions going down the stairs so the blood didn't run to his head, but other than that it was a smooth transport.
I used the time to think about the conversation Hitoshi and I had had. I had spilled my guts to him, told him things not even Chiharu knew about me. And she knew everything about me. Everything. High school was a wild ride for us.
Why had he asked about kids anyway? Making friendly conversation? I'm not sure.
Hitoshi led me to Denki's bedroom and we laid him down on his bed. He twisted and turned, getting used to the feeling of the mattress below him.
He eventually settled and cuddled into a body pillow. We giggled and left the room.
"Well, that was an adventure." I said, laughing as I spoke.
"It was that. He's always doing stupid stuff like that." Hitoshi said with a wave of his hand as if to brush Denki away. He wandered over to the cabinet, getting out two glasses.
"It's kind of refreshing though, isn't it? Living with Denki? It seems like a new adventure everyday."
"Somewhat." Hitoshi sighed, breaking the seal of the bottle I had brought. "It just gets tiring when he wants to go out for ice cream at three in the morning after I just got back from a shift."
"I still don't understand how you guys do it. Those crazy shifts. It's insane!" I praised, making Hitoshi smile.
What the hell. Why is his smile so perfect? Why? I don't understand.
"It gets tough, but it's worth it to know I'm helping people. To know I'm living my dream. Proving people wrong." He poured some liquid into the two glasses, a thin layer of it lying at the bottom.
I laughed his words.
"What?" He asked, smirking.
That's hot that's hot that's hot that's hot that's hot that's hot. Fuck that's hot.
"Just you. 'Proving people wrong.'" I said, smiling.
"What can I say?" Hitoshi said, shrugging, "I love being right." I laughed as he handed me a glass of liquor.
"Hear hear." I said, raising my glass. He clinked his against mine and we both sipped the alcohol.
It burned as it went down my throat, making me cough slightly.
"What the hell are you guys doing?" Denki said, emerging from the hallway rubbing his eye with the back of his hand.
"Hey, that nap didn't last long." I said, smiling at the man as he walked towards us, sitting himself on the barstool beside me.
"I guess not. Sorry for falling asleep on you by the way." He said, laughing.
"It's fine, really. Hero work is taxing." I assured him, patting his shoulder.
"Still, that's not an excuse for me to fall asleep with guests over."
"It is in my book." We smiled at each other and he reached for the bottle. He leaned back on the chair legs, holding onto the counter for balance while opening a cabinet over his head.
I could see him falling so I put my hands on his back, pushing him back up. I got him a cup from the cabinet and set it on the counter.
"Thanks!" He exclaimed, winking at me. "I hope you and Hitoshi got on without the life of the party."
"We got on just fine without Sero, thank you." Hitoshi said, taking another sip of his drink.
Denki's mouth dropped open, hand flying to his chest. "Hitoshi, must you wound me so?"
I laughed and they both smiled at me.
"We got on fine. It was rather..." I trailed of, meeting Hitoshi's eyes.
Please say you enjoyed it, please say you enjoyed it, please say you enjoyed it.
"Informative," I finished, "very interesting."
Hitoshi looked down, trying to hide his smile.
"Careful (Y/N), I might get jealous." Denki sang, making me laugh.
"Maybe that's the point." I flirted, making Denki's eyes widen and his cheeks flush.
He tried to stammer out some sort of response, but nothing would leave his mouth other than parts of words, bits of phrases ripped apart and put together again.
I started laughing and rubbed his back gently. "I was kidding, Denki."
Hitoshi laughed as Denki tryed to play it off, saying he knew I was kidding (which obviously wasn't true).
"Hey, how did you guys end up living together anyway?" I asked. The two were fond of each other, that much was obvious, but they were also constantly aggressive towards each other.
"Well," Denki said, taking a sip of his drink. "We met at our first year sports festival. We hit it off right away!"
"I thought he was annoying." I laughed at Hitoshi's response and he winked at me over the rim of his cup.
"He did, but that's beside the point! We ended up meeting later when I needed a place to call home."
"And I needed a roommate to help pay bills. We were both up and coming hero's at that point and I expected one of us would move out after a few years of our career's kept expanding at the rate they were." Hitoshi expanded. "But neither of us ever did."
"Nope! And we're best buddies now! Right Hitoshi?!" Denki leaned forward to look past me and at Hitoshi. I leaned back, looking between the two.
Hitoshi took a long sip of his drink, putting the glass down in front of him. He sighed and looked back at Denki.
"You could say that."
"Yes!" Denki exclaimed, pumping his fist in the air. I laughed at them both and finished off my glass.
"Dinner was amazing, thank you both."
"It was our pleasure." Denki said, winking at me.
"It was. We should hang out more often." Hitoshi offered, smiling at me.
Don't swoon, don't swoon, don't swoon, don't swoon, don't swoon.
"We should." I smiled at them both and looked between the two before letting out a sigh. "Well, I'll get out of your way. It's getting late anyway." I fiddled with the collar to my sweater, placing the glass at the edge of their sink.
"If you think. You could stay if you wanted, we have no objection." Hitoshi said.
"It's alright, I'm sure you guys have shifts tomorrow anyway. We really should do this again." I said, smiling at them both.
Denki and Hitoshi followed me to the door and I grabbed my helmet from their side table.
"Goodbye. I'll see you guys soon." I said.
"Bye."
"Bye!" Denki leaned over and kissed me on the cheek, making Hitoshi's eyes widen.
"Um..." I stammered, not quite sure what to do.
Denki laughed out loud, throwing his head back. "Revenge!" He exclaimed.
"Haha, very funny." I said, chuckling to myself.
I leaned over and kissed the insomniac on his cheek.
"Even?"

The men watched as (Y/N) pulled the door closed behind her.
"What the hell man?" Hitoshi said after a moment to make sure she was down the hall.
"What? It was right there, I'm surprised you didn't do it!" Denki exclaimed, defending himself.
"I'm telling you man, I've never felt so betrayed as I do right now. Wingman my ass!"
"Hitoshi, come on, you know me, I can't not flirt with a pretty woman!"
"Just go back to your nap lover boy."

Fun Fact: I said this when I answered someone's question once, but (Y/N) is 99.999% the smartest one in the room at any point in time. That's not an assumption or her bragging, she's done the math herself.
You guys are so nice what the hell. Is it even possible to be as nice as you are? ๐๐
I have an idea for when this book ends and I'm lowkey really excited about it๐
Reminder: Be the bigger person. Walk away from it. But only after putting them in their place. Walk away a bad bitch ๐ I love you all ๐๐
