"Bye!"
"Good bye."
Tamaki and I waved at the camera as Mirio hung up, his class waving behind him. Tamaki stood from his crouching position beside my desk, putting his phone back in his pocket.
"Well thank you Tamaki, that was really sweet of you to bring the card over." His face lit up and he looked away from me.
"I should have brought it sooner, I'm sorry." He mumbled, playing with his hands.
"Don't be babe, it's fine! You were busy, I get it." His breath hitched when I called him babe, and I got worried I said something wrong.
"Ok then," he stuttered out, "I'll leave you to your work. Sorry to bother you." Turning towards the door, he put his head down and took fast steps to get out of my office.
"Hey Tamaki, do you have time off right now?" I said without thinking.
Idiot, he probably wants to be alone.
"Yeah, I'm on my lunch break." He muttered, looking at me over his shoulder.
"I'm about to go on mine, do you wanna grab lunch together?"
Idiot, idiot, idiot.
"That would be nice." He gave me a nervous smile, stepping away from the door.
I smiled, standing and smoothing out my tie. I walked over to the door, opening it and gesturing for Tamaki to go through first.
Nodding in thanks, he went through, leading towards the lobby.
I caught up to him, us now walking together down the hallway.
"How have you been?" I asked, looking at the hero.
"I've been alright," he said quietly, and I took note of how he didn't stutter. "What about you?"
"Oh, good. Life's been pretty simple lately."
We entered the lobby and I waved goodbye to Chiharu. She looked from me to the back of Takami's head and smirked.
I shook my head quickly, dragging my thumb across my neck to tell her to cut it out. She hid her laugh and waved us off, but made sure to wink at me first.
Rolling my eyes, I held the door for Tamaki and he stepped out of the agency, into the sun.
"Where do you want to go?" He asked, head tilted towards the ground.
"Whatever you're in the mood for, I don't mind." I answered, Tamaki glancing at me, head still tilted down.
"What about dim sum?"
"I haven't had dim sum in forever, that sounds great." I answered, trying not to be to loud and startle him.
He reached up to his face, using his knuckle to adjust his visor. I noticed how he fidgeted, tracing the edge of it and tapping it with his fingertip.
"Don't your feet hurt?" I asked randomly.
"What do you mean?" Tamaki asked nervously, turning to look at me.
I pointed down at his feet, making him follow my finger.
"Your hero costume doesn't have shoes. Don't your feet hurt after a day of patrols?"
He reached up and rubbed the back of his neck, scanning the area. Perhaps out of habit.
"I'm used to it at this point I guess. I don't really feel it anymore." He explained.
"Damn." I looked out at the street, analyzing it as well. "I guess that shows your dedication to heroism though, doesn't it?" I asked, "Putting heroism over personal comfort. People have a hard time with that, it's impressive how easily you can do it." I tore my eyes away from the scene before me to look up at Tamaki, who looked away from me.
"Thank you," he mumbled. I leaned forward slightly to try and see his face, only catching the tip of his ear, which was dusted pink.

I tapped the table in thanks as the waiter refilled my tea cup.
I smiled at her as she walked away, leaving Tamaki and I back at the table.
"I wanted to tell you congratulations on that last case you solved." Takami asked quietly.
I noticed that the more we talked, the less he stuttered. He still looked down, didn't make eye contact often and when he did it was only a glance on my direction.
"Thank you, though I'll be honest, I didn't do much solving on my own." I chuckled, sipping my tea.
"I never saw anything about a formal arrest for a killer though. I know that the mother was arrested for relations with both the murder and the kidnapping, but it was never disclosed if she was behind it. I wanted to ask you about that. But if you can't talk about it, that's fine I get it!" He defended, waving his hands on front of his chest. I was a bit surprised, I think that was the most he had ever spoken to me at once, and it made me feel a bit proud.
"Well," i said, cutting off his mumbling skills about how he shouldn't have said anything, "I'm not supposed to talk about it, not with civilians anyway." The hero opened his mouth, ready to tell me that it was fine before I cut him off. "Butβ since you're a hero, I can technically tell you details without getting in trouble. Are you sure you want to know?"
His eyes widened a bit and he looked up at me, his bangs going over one eye. He slowly nodded, fixing his hair.
"Well, there hasn't been a formal arrest for the killer made yet. Yes, the mother was arrested in relations to the case but that was because she had hired a hit man." I explained, holding my hands and putting my elbows on the table.
Tamaki looked up in shock, making eye contact for more than a second.
On her own family?
"Yep. It only gets worse from there too. Turns out, the father? Drug addiction."
"You're kidding," he mumbled.
"Nope. Methamphetamine. Turns out mother dearest found out about it, thought he was an unfit husband and hired a hitman to get rid of him. The hitman has worked for years, mostly in America but has spread around the world. He kidnaps the father and child, kills the father, and leaves the child safe and sound with no memory of what happened." I split apart a bun, looking up at the hero.
"Oh dear." He muttered.
"Oh dear is right. It's messy, but I'm working together with some colleagues in America to track this person down."
"I hope you catch them. They deserve justice." Tamaki said. That's right, said. He didn't mutter.
"I couldn't have said it better myself Tamaki. Couldn't have said it better myself."
The next chapter I think is one of my favorites I've written for this book π³π³
Fun Fact: The drunk drawback on the reader's quirk also applies to drugs. All her friends would smoke weed in high school, and she got high with them once or twice, but otherwise she wore a thick face mask (if she can do it, so can you) to not spoil their fun.
Not this girl making my anxiety go ππ and then twisting my words and putting words in my mouth π this isn't fun πππ
Reminder: If you're uncomfortable in a situation, tell the person you're with. Get out of it. Don't be scared of the person or the situation, just please leave if you're uncomfortable. You should always feel safe and secure so if you feel like you're in a situation where someone could get hurt, or it's dangerous and you don't want to be there, leave as soon as possible. Stay safe my loves, I love you all ππ
Over and out.
