I laid on my stomach, face pressed into a pillow as I thought about my date. I felt my face get hot as I buried it further into my pillow.
God, I thought, I'm acting like a teenage girl.
I let go of the pillow, flipping onto my back and spreading my arms out wide. I thought about how much of a gentleman Takami was. He was a catch.
Why did he have to be such a catch?
My head was a flustered mess at the moment, my brain mush as soon as I entered my apartment.
Takami and I stopped in front of my door, and I turned towards him. He looked down at me with adoration clear in his gaze.
Stop, I thought, don't look at me like that. My knees are too weak for that.
He put his hand to my face, cupping my cheek. His thumb softly ran over my skin, making my eyes flutter closed as I placed my hand on his.
I could hear the fabric of his suit rustle, feeling his breath on my opposite cheek. I felt him smile as he pressed his lips to my cheek.
"I pegged you as a first kiss after the first date kinda guy." I said jokingly as he pulled away and I opened my eyes.
"I usually am," Takami said smiling and moving his hand from my cheek to my hand, "but with you, I don't want to mess it up. I've been told I go to fast, so with you, I want to take it slow."
He held my hands in his, bringing them to his mouth to kiss my hands.
"What makes me so special?" I asked, laughing quietly.
"With you... I don't know how to explain it." He sighed happily, his thumbs rubbing over my knuckles.
"With other people, they gave me temporary happiness, but with you, it's not just happiness. I feel this, like," Takami stuttered for a moment, looking up at the ceiling of the hallway, "static in the air when I'm around you, and it's so addicting. We just click so perfectly. With other people, I could imagine myself going any farther than the fifth or sixth date with them. But with you, I feel like I want spend forever with you. Wrap you in my wings and just exist with you."
Why was he like that with me? I don't get it. He's supposed to be a playboy, it's not fair that he says that stuff to me. That was supposed to be a one time thing, why am I swooning for him? He probably says that stuff to people all the time!
God fucking damn it.

Sitting at my desk the next day, I tried to force last night out of my head.
That was hard to do considering every time I moved I felt Hawks's feather tickle my chest. The night before I had somehow managed to find the tools around my apartment to make a chain for it, stringing it around my neck like a prized heirloom.
Surprisingly, nothing had come out about Hawks and his "possible lover."
Chiharu knew something was up, I could tell. She was prying, trying to figure out what it was.
But jokes on her, years of bottling up my feelings about my parents has prepared me for this moment. So ha.
"Agent," Chiharu spoke over the intercom, "Suneater is here to see you, can I send him in?"
Tamaki?
"Send him in," I said, turning my attention back to the papers in front of me.
Only a few seconds later, a soft knock sounded at my door.
"Come in!"
The knob turned and Tamaki nervously stepped in.
"Hello Detective," he said, voice quiet.
"Hey Tamaki. What's up?" I asked, smiling and setting my pen down as he closed the door behind him.
"Um, Mirio wanted me to bring you this." He said, holding out a powder blue envelope. I looked up at him in question, making him look away.
Taking the envelope from his hand, I flipped it over, seeing the words "The Best Detective" in neat handwriting on the front. I smiled, opening it up and sliding out the card inside.
"Oh wait," Tamaki said, making me look up. "Mirio wanted to see your reaction, do you mind if I call him?" He asked nervously, as if he would make me upset.
"Sure Tamaki, I don't mind. Tell me when." I smiled and the hero softly smiled back, taking out his phone. An older model, I noticed. He tapped on the screen for a minute, before holding it up to show me and my desk to the camera.
The dialing tone ring through my office as we waited for Mirio to answer the call. Tamaki was blushing, looking awkward filming me like this.
"Hey Suneater! Oh what's up (L/N)?" Mirio's voice sang from the phone. I waved awkwardly as I heard Mirio talking to his students.
"Come on, come on, come on, get around my desk, that's it, come on." He was saying, making me cover my mouth in an attempt not to laugh.
"Ok Detective, we're all here, open the card!" Mirio exclaimed happily, and I could hear his smile through the phone. I chuckled under my breath, picking the card up.
The card itself was handmade, a folded piece of white card stock with a drawing of me on the front. I looked stern, a small smile on my face as I held up my badge. A speech bubble was above my head, in it were the words 'PIZZA ROLLS ARE ITALIAN GUSHERS!'
I laughed, opening the card.
In the center of the card were the words 'WELCOME BACK DETECTIVE (L/N)!!' surrounded by the signatures of the students and teachers of U.A. Some had notes beside them, little words of encouragement. Some students had asked for me to come back to U.A. to teach another class with Mirio.
I smiled as I read them all, finally coming upon Mirio's.
Call me when you get the chance, there's something I want to talk to you about! Welcome back to the force! XOXO -LEMILLION
I smiled, almost wanting to cry at how sweet the card was.
"Thank you guys so much," I said, looking up at the camera that was still in Tamaki's hands, "I love the card, it means so much to me."
I looked down, scanning my desk for a place to put it. I stood up, leaning over and placing it next to a framed picture of Daichi, Chiharu and I when we all first started working together.
"Thank you guys, it was really sweet of you." I smiled again, sitting back down and putting my head in my palm.
"Hey, Agent?" Someone asked.
"Yes?" I said, perking up and crossing my arms on the edge of my desk, "who said that? I can't see you guys."
"It's uh, it's Kasai. Kasai Yuudai." The voice spoke again.
He's the one who called that exchange student cute during training.
"Oh yeah, what's up Kasai?"
"Are you gonna come teach again? At U.A.?" He asked. "We all really liked your lesson, we thought it was fun."
"Well thank you, but that's up for Nezu and Mirio to decide." I answered.
"You hear that Sensei, ask her back!" Another voice whispered, supposedly to Mirio. Mirio laughed and I smiled along with him.
"Agent, call me." Mirio said, "that's something I want to talk to you about." I nodded, excited at the thought of teaching another class.
"Will do Mirio. I'd love to come teach a class again."
I heard a student silently exclaim "score!" in the background, causing me to laugh.
It was nice to feel wanted.
It's four in the morning for me rn I-
Fun Fact: (Y/N) still keeps in touch with her body guard, Ivan, from when Tomura was stalking her at U.A.
Reminder: You don't need anyone else's validation. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters. You do you! Go be happy! I love you all, stay safe 💞💞
