1 | The Givin Task
I was sitting in a tree waiting for him. He told me he wanted to talk. I felt a breeze rush through the trees. I looked up to the moon as a wolf howled. I then heard the crunching of tires rolling on a dirt road and looked down.
I saw what seemed to be a black vehicle with 2 doors on each side. It rolled to a stop and I waited for him to step out. Once I saw his black boots hit ground, I jumped out of my hiding spot and landed on both feet and one of my hands in a three point landing (picture shown above).
I stood up, my mask still professionally covering my mouth, nose and my hood over most of my hair. I walked over to him and stood about three feet away from him.
"You wanted to talk?" I asked, dagger hidden in my sleeve in case he decided to do something stupid.
"Yes, Mayhem, I did," he replied with a foul grin on his face and hands behind his back.
"Don't call me that," I told him, clenching my fists. He just chuckled.
"I don't want to fight you," he started, "but there is something that I want you to do for me," I had a frown on my face, invisible to the man in front of me.
"I'm not your slave," I told him. His grin let up slightly, turning into a slight scowl.
"No, but you are an assassin," he responded. I perked up at his words.
"Ok, I'm listening," I said crossing my arms.
"Have you heard of Iron Man?" I unfolded my arms. Of course I knew who Iron Man was. He killed my brother.
I looked away.
"Oh, I see you have, well I have some plans in the making and he's going to get in the way" I looked up. His grin turned into a full on scowl.
"I need you to take care of him" I nodded, accepting the task immediately. He smiled.
"Good" he turned walking back to his car. I turned my head slightly, sensing someone walking behind me. He stopped by the car door.
"Oh, and Amber," I looked up when he spoke.
"Don't miss" he said opening the door. I gripped the handle of my dagger and threw it, expertly, at the person behind me, stabbing him in the chest.
"I never miss" I told him, not turning around.
"Good" I heard the car door close and him drive off. I walked up to the man, dead on the ground, and grabbed my bloody dagger out of his chest. I looked at it with my crystal blue eyes and smiled.
"This is gonna be fun" I said aloud and jumped into the air, transforming into a bird, then flew away. I knew exactly where to go and exactly what to do when I got there.
Peter's POV
Today was the day.
What is today you may ask.
Well today is the day that I'm finally gonna work up the courage to talk to Liz. I've had a crush on her for awhile, but I've only stared at her from afar and never spoke, so it's about time that I do.
I was walking next to Ned with MJ behind us. We were headed to 4th period when Liz walked around the corner. I stopped and stared. She was unspeakably beautiful.
Ned grabbed my arm and pulled me forward. This was it, I was gonna say something.
"Hi Liz," that was it. She looked at me and smiled.
"Hi Peter," she said. I continued to stare at her as we left the hallway and turning into another. We walked into our 4th period classroom when Ned stopped causing me to bump into him.
"What the hell Ned," I spoke. He just lifted his finger.
"New girl 3 o'clock. Or is it 4 o'clock?" Ned asked himself. I walked past him so I could get a better look. Once I did, the first thing I noticed were her crystal blue eyes. I stared for longer than I should've and she looked up at me and smiled. I hadn't realized this at the time, but she was definitely prettier than Liz.
I smiled back and went to go sit in the empty seat next to her. I put my bag on the floor next to the desk and sat down. I looked at her, realizing that she was already looking at me.
"Hi I'm Peter," I held out my hand to her. She reached her hand out to mine and when she held my hand I felt a wave of shock flow through my arm.
"I've never seen you here before, are you new?" I asked her after bringing my hand back and placing it on my desk. She nodded.
"Yeah me and my father just moved in," she informed.
"Also my name is Chris."
