The Death Of Norman Osborn and Meeting Harry Osborn

3rd Person POV

A black car pulled up to the large Oscorp Mansion. The window rolled down revealing Harry Osborn, son of Norman Osborn.
"Welcome home." His butler said to him. He walked him to his father's bedroom and stopped just outside the door. "It's dark in there. Your eye's will adjust. It's better this way."

Harry walked inside the dark room where his sick and dying father laid on the bed. He sat in a chair next to the bed and looked at his sick father.
    "Dad." He said quietly.
"This is not how I imagined I would die, looking at my son and seeing a stranger." Harry stayed silent as his father spoke. "You have such potential, Harry. Such... fierce intelligence and you're throwing it all away."
"No, you threw me away." Harry said quietly back to him. "You kicked me off to boarding school when I was 11. On my 16th birthday, you sent me scotch. Or-or one of your assistant's did." Harry spoke in a quiet yet angry tone. "I'm pretty sure, because the card read: with compliment's Norman Osborn."
Norman leaned forward in his bed as well as he could and scowled at Harry.
"I don't expect forgiveness from you anymore. I don't believe in miracles. How could you possibly understand that your childhood had to be sacrificed for something greater? And not just for me! For you! Has your hand started twitching yet? When you lay awake and you feel it coming, hiding under your skin, waiting to show itself. To show you, who you really are." Norman began coughing. "Retroviral Hyperplasia. I never told you... that it's genetic. Our disease... the Osborn curse. And it began at your age... Let me see it. Your hand. Give it to me." Harry slowly gave his father his slightly shaking hand. "The greatest inheritance... I can give you... isn't merely money. It's this. The sum total of all my work. Everything I did to stay alive." He handed him a usb device. "Maybe you can succeed where I failed."

Cate's POV

I was busy typing away on my computer and sending new Spider-Woman picture's to Mr. Jameson through email. When the TV system's of the college campus went off.
"This just in. Norman Osborn, the legendary founder and CEO of Oscorp Industries, has died, the Osborn has confirmed. He is survived by his only son, Harry Osborn, who is the sole heir of the Oscorp cooperate empire."
"Harry." I whispered sadly to myself as I watched the tv's report on him.
"Osborn fundamentally changed the medical profession's approach to human healing and affected the lives of millions."

Norman Osborn's message displayed on every new's outlet and all through out the Oscorp building.
"I started Oscorp because I looked at the world around me and I thought, 'we can do better.' And we should do better. Einstein said the world cannot be changed without changing out thinking. But change isn't just a slogan. It begins with hard work. Change begin's with persistence and commitment."

"Mr. Osborn changed the world. And now it's up to each of us to ensure that his hopes and dream's remain alive. But, not today, today is for mourning." The Oscorp head person said throughout the building as Peter watched on. His phone started to ring and he saw my picture.

"Did you see the news?" I asked softly.
"Yeah, I did." Peter said sadly.
"I'm sure he'd back in town. We should invite him out... He shouldn't go through this alone. We of all people know what it's like to lose a parent or a family member." I told him honestly.
"That's a really great idea, Cate. I'm a little busy right now, do you want to call him and set it up? Just let me know the when and where and I'll try to be there."
"Yeah. I'll do that. Love you, bye."
"Love you, too. Bye."

3rd Person POV

At Oscorp, everyone was sent home due to the passing of the founder Norman Osborn. Max Dillon was told to stay and check on the electrical project happening within the building. When he did, an accident occurred and he fell into a vat of electric eel's... Causing his skin to turn blue and electrify. Max Dillon, died... Or did he?

Harry sat at home in a Oscorp meeting. Cate had tried to call Harry, but the number was inactive. It'd been a long time, so it wasn't a surprise. So she thought she'd drop by his house.
"Harry, Oscorp's been under intense public scrutiny in the wake of Dr. Connors recent, uh, breach of trust."
"You mean people are pissed off 'cause he tried to turn everyone in New York City into giant lizard's." Harry retorted.
"Given that. All the animal hybrid program's he was involved in were destroyed to restore investor confidence." The chairman said.
"Ah, that is the Osborn way." Harry turned around in his chair to face the room full of Osborn board member's. "What ever's inconvenient around here, just get rid of it, right?"
"Much of that scrutiny may fall on you now. We felt that plausible deniability was your best option." The chairman explained.
"Sure, sure. I get it. Twenty year old kid. 200 billion dollar company. What was Dad thinking? I mean, you're all lawyer's right? Surely someone must have questioned his sanity in the end. Someone must have thought about having him declared legally incompetent. It would have made this conversation a lot easier." Harry growled at the men among him.

"Harry..."
"It's Mr. Osborn." Harry said to him. "We are not friend's." He looked down the table and at the end sat a single female. "Hi." He said softly. She looked up at him. "You were his assistant, right?" She nodded. "What's your name?"
"Felicia." She said simply.
"Felicia. From now on, everybody at this table work's for Felicia because Felicia work's for me. Would anybody like to speak up?" Harry asked the board members. Some looked like they wanted to but no one said a thing. "Well, good. Then you can all keeps your job's a little longer."
"Sir," The butler came over and whispered in Harry's ear. "There's a Cate Barrett here to see you."
The name caught the attention of the chairman. Harry nodded and looked back down at Felicia.
"Felicia, I want to see every file on this list. Every single one." He got up and adjusted his suit, walking out toward's the lobby of the home.

Cate's POV
I stood waiting awkwardly by the door after the butler said he'd go get Harry for me. It had been a long time since I had seen him in person, or even talked to him. I can't deny when I was younger I had a small crush on him. But, other than Peter, he was my very best friend. We used to be really close. The three of us were.
I heard his footsteps approach the grand staircase and then they stopped.
"Cate Barrett." Harry said. "It's like seeing a ghost."
"Hi, Harry." I smiled softly at him.
"Random. It's been ten years." Harry pointed out. He stayed at the top of the stairs, no emotion on his face.
"Uh, eight actually. But you were close." I lightly joked.
"What's up?" He asked simply.
"Well, I saw the news." I walked closer to the stairs, closer to him. "I heard about your Dad, and I wanted to come and check on you. To see you, see how you were doing."
"I'm, uh, with some people." He said backing up and I stopped and sighed. "I'm in a... in a meeting."

"I'm sorry, Harry. I didn't mean to intrude. I know, it's been a long time, and... I kinda know exactly what you're going through right now." I explained quietly. I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. "You were there for me when my parent's..." I choked up a bit and breathed out deeply. "Well, that's why, I wanted to tell you, I'm here for you."
"Thank you." He said quietly and looked down at the floor.
"Well, it was really good to see you, Harry." I smiled and walked back toward's the door. "I'm sorry about your Dad."

"You got your braces off. And your glasses are gone." Harry said suddenly as I reached for the door handle. He walked down a few of the steps. He laughed slightly. "Now what's gonna distract me from staring at your pretty face?"
I smiled at bit my lip, shaking my head.
"There he is." I laughed. "There's the Harry I remember. The big ol' flirt. Let me guess, you still blow dry your hair every morning?"
"Oh, you know, one of my manservant's as you used to call them, hold's the hair dryer, but I work the comb. Okay?" He tried holding in his laughter as I poked fun at him just like old times. "At least I'm not completely helpless." He walked down closer to me as we both started laughing.
He got closer to me and when his arm's opened up I ran into them. He hugged me and spun me around once.

We decided to go for walk together. Talking about what we'd been up to since the last time we saw each other.
"After graduation, I went to Brazil, then Singapore." Harry said.
"That's right. Yeah."
"Yeah and then Europe. You know, I went to Europe."
"I saw you in some magazine with some French supermodel's." I laughed. Harry laughed.
"Sound's like someone's jealous." He poked fun and I shoved him gently. "That whole supermodel thing is so exhausting." He fakely said.
"Oh, I know." I mocked and laughed some more. "And I am not jealous."
"No? You got a guy?" He asked me as we looked out at the water.

"I do actually. I mean it's been a little complicated lately, otherwise he'd be here with us." I smirked and Harry got it instantly.
"Peter? Peter Parker?" He laughed. "Why am I not surprised? You two were alway's joined at the hip."
"Yep. That's him. You know, he actually work's for you now?" I told him.
"Really? He works for me?" Harry laughed.
"Yep. At Oscorp, doing a work study."
"Wow. I'll have to check and see if he's a model employee. Give him a hard time, now."
"Oh, leave Peter alone." I laughed.

We walked down to the beach and started skipping rocks into the water.
"You know, when my father sent me away, I tried to forget everything about this place." Harry threw the rock in his hand and it skipping three times. "I guess that kind of included you and Peter."
"You don't have to explain anything to me, Harry. All three of us... We got dumped." I told him sadly as I skipped my rock.
"Did you... Did you guys ever find out why your parent's bailed?" Harry asked.
"Well, my Dad left a briefcase. That's all I have is a briefcase full of junk. Whatever... you know? I try not to think about it." I shrugged.
"How's that workin' out for ya?" Harry tilted his head seeing my expression.
"Perfectly." I rolled my eyes and tossed out another rock. This one skipped out 6 times, far into it the water. Harry chuckled in amazement.
"Nice arm."
"Oh, it's just in the wrist. All in the wrist, buddy." I said nervously. "You could do it too if you just strengthen up that."

Unknown to Harry and I we were being tracked by a black van, listening in to our entire conversation.

"Yeah, right." Harry chuckled. "You've got to admit, though, thing's have gotten a bit crazy around here. Giant lizard's and Spider girl's."
"Ah." I sat down on the rock's. "Just one lady. Just one Spider-Woman. Could be a man, I suppose but the boob's would be a bit hard to explain." I laughed.
"Whatever, Cate." Harry laughed. "She run's around in spandex to rescue kitten's from tree's. I'm so impressed." He said sarcastically.
"Well, I kinda like to think she give's people hope." I pointed out.
"For what?"
"That maybe eventually everything's going to be all right." I said with a shrug.
"Yeah, I just wish I had time for 'eventually.'" Harry said tossing a rock and I looked up at him concerned and confused.
