My web shooter's were busted. I made my way home slowly and painfully. I knew I needed help. I crawled up the side of Peter's house and knocked on his window. He was sitting at his desk, typing away on his computer.
"Come in." He laughed.
I carefully pushed up the glass window and tumbled to the floor inside.
"I really thought you'd be more graceful then that." He laughed again, but when he noticed I didn't move from the floor. Peter quickly got to his feet. "Cate? Oh, god what happened?" He asked helping me sit up.
"Oh, you should see the other guy." I joked and frowned in pain. "The other guy in this instance being a giant mutant lizard."

He scooped me into his arms and laid me on his bed and I cringed at the movement.
"Sorry." He apologized.
"Peter?" Aunt May called out. Both of our eyes widened. "What was that? Are you all right?"
"Yeah, I'm good. Just dropped a book." He called out and shut his eyes tightly. Cringing at his excuse.
"A book? Was it your entire shelf?" Uncle Ben called out.

We could hear the footsteps and Peter scrambled to get to his door. He opened it slightly and I landed on the floor next to his bed. I was still in my suit. There was no way they could see me like this. They'd freak and then they'd tell my Aunt.

"Everything okay in there?" Ben asked him and Peter nodded furiously.
"Oh, yeah. Everything's fine. Like I said, just dropped a textbook. That's why the crashing sound was so loud. I was uh, testing it." Peter said in a rushed manner.
"Testing it?"
"Yeah, you know. Dropping it from different heights. For a school project on, uh, gravity. Testing the velocity of how fast each object that weighs differently moves. That's all."
"Okay..." Ben said slightly concerned. "Well, don't hurt yourself, I guess... And stop dropping things, at least until tomorrow when we are at work. It's very loud and we are getting ready for bed. Okay, sport?"
"Yep. No problem. I'm actually pretty tired." Peter fake yawned and stretched his arms. "I'm gonna go to bed to. See you in the morning." He shut the door and leaned against it, locking it. He turned to look at me as I peaked up over his bed.

"Gravity?" I chuckled with a raised eyebrow.
"Shut up." He whispered and walked over helping me up with a smile. "We are gonna need to clean this." He whispered. I groaned slightly and nodded. I laid back on the bed and he went downstairs, gathering the cloths and peroxide, to help clean my wound.

When he came back, I had to get out of my suit. Peter turned around waiting while I put my pant's on. I left my shirt off and looked at my chest that had three massive scratches going across it.
"Uh, you can look... But I'm just in my bra..." I said awkwardly. Luckily that didn't get shredded.
"Are you sure? I don't wanna make you uncomfortable." Peter said, still turned around.
"Well, if I want help, it doesn't really matter how comfortable I am does it?" I giggled. "It's fine, really. You're my best friend and now my boyfriend. Helping me clean a scratch. I trust you."

Peter slowly turned around and only looked at my face. He walked over and tucked his hand over my cheek and partially on my neck. Leaning in and kissed me softly. When he pulled away he helped me sit on the bed and began working on my scratches, cleaning them. I hissed and groaned every so often and he apologized each time.
"You know, now I've realized why our parent's kept this work a secret." I said quietly. "I should have never given him that equation."
"You keep blaming yourself, but you do realize, it wasn't just you. I helped you with it, I brought it with you, too him. I know you think all this fall's on your shoulder's. But I'm apart of this. Just as much as you. Okay? We are in this together. I may not have super strength and crazy senses, and spider abilities like you do. But everyone need's someone. I'm gonna be there for you every step. I promise." He said softly and smiled.
"Peter..." I sighed. "You could get hurt. What if someone ever went after you because of me. I-I'd never be able to forgive myself if something happened to you." I placed a gentle hand on his cheek and he stopped cleaning my cut's.
"You won't lose me. Plus, I can take care of myself." He wiggled his eyebrows and I giggled.
"Sure, you can." I said sarcastically. He gave me a pouting face and I kissed him quickly. "All right, fine. You're pretty good at standing up to bullies. I can give you that much." I looked into his eyes and smiled. "I love you, Peter."
"I love you, Cate."

"Hey!" I got a sudden idea. "Want to get out here?" I wiggled my eyebrows at him and he chuckled.
"You know they'd kill me if I left right now." 
"Who say's you have to tell them?" I laughed quietly.

I helped Peter out the window and we walked into the town. I wrapped my arm around him in an alley and he wrapped his arms around me.
"Are you sure about this?" He asked nervously.
"It'll be great, trust me. You're gonna wish you had these powers." I laughed. "Ready?"
Peter nodded and I shot out a web. I jumped from the ground and we began swinging through the town together. He loved every moment of the freeing experience.

3rd person POV
Back in the sewer's Doctor Connors had changed back into himself. He thought curiously and the unfolding events of today.
"Cate Barrett. Spider-Woman. I'm not the one who needs help! There will be no more loneliness, no more outcasts. Species wide distribution could... could enhance humanity on an evolutionary scale. One has to adapt to survive." His mind told him.
"That, changing like the snake, I might be free to cast off flesh wherein I dwell confined."
"Would you give it all up after all you can do? All the power you feel? I can save them!" The voice in his head screamed.
He grabbed a vile of the serum and injected it into his arm once again.
"You're not gonna get in the way of my plan, Cate Barrett!"
He turned back into the Lizard with a vengeance set, and a plan made.
