The Hunt
After the night I had with Derek, I threw on some clothes and headed into the kitchen, because I needed a glass of water, and Derek was still asleep, and I didn't wanna wake him.
Kai and Stiles were sound asleep, both of them on the couch, just laying with their heads at opposite sides. I chuckled. I assumed both of them refused to sleep on the floor and they resolved it like this.
I took a drink of water, as I stared at the wall, before feeling two strong arms wrap around my waist from behind.
"Good morning." Derek said before he kissed my cheek. I couldn't help but smile.
"Morning Derek."
I said turning to face him. He put his hands on my waist, and I rested mine on his chest. He smiled widely. "So, our record is three headboards now right?"
"Yeah, It's gotta be, from what we heard!" Stiles spoke up, still laying on the couch with his eyes closed. "Yeah. There's no way it isn't." Kai added.
I rolled my eyes at their interruption.
"So, how'd the two of you sleep?" I teased.
Kai opened his eyes and gave me a dirty look. "Like a baby." He replied sarcastically. "A baby with insomnia, who keeps getting woken up, and is sleeping on the worlds most uncomfortable couch." Stiles added as he sat up.
Derek rolled his eyes. "You two didn't have to sleep here you know, Stiles has a house."
Kai shrugged. "But, where would I have stayed? How on earth would he explain me to his dad? Plus, I wouldn't have wanted to miss out on the sound of the headboard, and sound barrier, breaking."
"Yeah, they also broke my will to live." Stiles added. I chuckled.
"Stiles, don't be too much of a jerk. You still have to bring me to the Argent house."
"Fine, let me call Scott."
He sighed. I crossed my arms. "Yeah, I was thinking about that, why does Scott need to come?" I asked.
Not that I didn't like Scott, because I did. But, I didn't see why he needed to come, or why he even wanted to. Him and Allison used to date, and they were each others first loves. Why would he wanna go back to her house? I barely wanted to. But I needed to, I at least wanted some pictures of the two of us.
Stiles cleared his throat. "Well..he said he's coming to make sure we can keep the peace..with Chris.."
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms. "We?" I asked, knowing what he really meant.
"Well..you actually. He said he doesn't want you, and Chris fighting." Stiles explained awkwardly. I rolled my eyes.
"Well, as long as Chris doesn't act like his usual, judgmental self, I'll be fine." I smirked.
Kai smiled. "Alright, I'm going too. I'll make sure things stay fair. I'm sure I'd be better at making people shut up, than your little friend Scott." Kai mocked.
Stiles sighed, and called Scott. Derek offered to go, but I told him no, I figured it may go better with Chris, if Derek wasn't there.
The car ride felt like forever. When we got to the door, I hesitated but I knocked.
After a few minuets, Chris opened it, and rolled his eyes when he saw me.
"Come in I guess." He said before walking away.
Me, Stiles, Kai, and Scott walked inside. I sighed. "Good to see you I guess.." I replied. Chris sighed and turned to look at me.
He rolled his eyes. "Well, I can't say the same."
I sighed. "Argent. I'm not here to fight with you."
He scoffed. "Well, that's a first."
I bit my tongue. Trying not to do anything stupid. "I just want some pictures of me and Allison."
He crossed his arms, and rolled his eyes. "No. Allison's room is off limits. Especially to you."
Kai scoffed. "Okay, I've had enough of this." He stated before using magic to make Chris sit down, not letting him up.
I turned around to look at Kai, very confused. "Wait..how're still a witch? I thought you turned into a vampire!"
I exclaimed. Kai smiled. "Oh, I'm a heretic. Both with and vampire. A benefit of my siphoning abilities." He explained.
Before I could say anything, Chris intervened. "Wow, you really make the best kind of friends, don't you Absinthe?" He asked sarcastically. I sighed and turned to Scott and Stiles.
"Okay Scott, I'm sorry, I tried to be civil. But I won't deal with this." I stated before turning back to Chris.
"Listen, Allison, was my little sister. And whether or not you believe me, I loved her. I cared about her. I was there for her. And I taught her, more than you, Kate, or Gerard ever did. And I lost her. Just like you did! She meant the world to me. So, I'm gonna take some stuff, that was between me and her. And I don't give a sh*t if you like that. Because I've never needed your approval. And I certainly don't now."
And with that, I stormed off to Allison's room, and Kai followed me, while Stiles and Scott stayed where they were.
Allison's room seemed so empty. This wasn't gonna be easy for me. I walked by a picture that Allison had on her desk, a picture of her, my mom, Kate, and Chris.
Kai picked it up, and furrowed his brows at me. "Where are you in this picture?" He asked. I cleared my throat. "I was the one taking it." I replied as I took the picture from him.
I looked at it, I was disgusted when I saw Kate. I hated her. But it wasn't always like that. There was a time, when her and I were close.
She used to take up for me when it came to Chris. She was always on my side. She was my best friend.
And then she found out what Derek was. And that's when suddenly, I wasn't her friend anymore. And she didn't care about hurting me anymore.
"Yeah..I actually used to be close with Kate." I explained as I pointed her out.
"Really? What happened?" Kai asked.
*Flashback*
I'd just found out about everything, and Kate and Chris were packing up to leave, I stormed into the room with them, and grabbed Kate's arm and turned her to face me, tears in my eyes.
"How could you do this to me?!" I asked.
She rolled her eyes. "Absinthe, don't be so dramatic. There's plenty of fish in the sea, okay sweetie?" She replied.
I clenched my fists.
"I don't want a freaking fish. I want a wolf. My wolf." I replied, at that time I thought he was dead. She put her hands on my shoulders.
"Oh honey, he's burning, not just because of his house fire..but because I'm sure he's in hell now." She smirked.
I got so angry, I pushed Kate into the wall, and she hit her head on it. I grabbed her shirt and threw her on the ground, and sat on top of her, punching her face repeatably. Chris tried pulling me off of her, and I elbowed him in the nose, breaking it.
I punched Kate's face bloody. And spit on her before getting up.
I looked Chris straight in the face. "That's one of the thing's I've learned from my actual dad." I said before shoulder checking him.
*Present*
I explained everything about her to Kai. One of the only things I never really told him about.
"Woah, you really beat her up? Nice!" He exclaimed.
I chuckled. "The best part? I was only like sixteen." He laughed and high fived me. I put the picture down, and opened Allison's desk drawer, inside, was a scrapbook I'd made her.
It was full, of pictures of me and her, drawing she'd made of the two of us, and little keepsakes we'd saved from times we'd hung out.
I flipped through it, looking at all the times we'd had together, when a letter fell out. I picked it up, it was folded and the front of it read:
"To my sister, Abi"
Immediately I opened it and read it.
"Dear Abi,
I know that you had to leave. And I understand. I doubt I ever send this. Because I don't want you to feel bad.
I miss you. I miss you so much. You've only been gone a day, and I already can't stand you not being here. You're my best friend, and my sister. You mean the world to me. And I hope, that eventually you'll come back. Because I love you. And I need you. The only thing that's keeping me sane, is knowing that no matter how far apart we are, and no matter what happens, we're still sisters.
And we'll always, always, look after each other. I hope you find everything you're looking for, and I hope you find yourself.
I hope I can see you again soon.
Your sister, Alliecat"
Tears started falling down my face, and Kai hugged me tightly. I took the book and letter, and went back downstairs, angry, sad, and filled with guilt for leaving.
I looked at Argent, filled with hate.
"Why..why would you let her go? You knew she wasn't ready. She wasn't strong enough yet. She always took on more than she could handle. Why would you let her go? Why?" I asked teary eyed.
Chris scoffed. "You know why she went? She wanted to be more like you. Her ridiculous, pathetic, older sister." I slapped him across the face as hard as I possibly could, leaving a red mark on his cheek.
"Don't you dare pin this on me! You were her father! It was your job to prepare her! Nice job, not teaching her about hunting for her entire life, and then suddenly, just throwing her into it!"
"I waited to tell her about it, because I didn't want her to become a damaged basket case loser like you!" Argent exclaimed. I punched him in the face, over and over again. Like I did to Kate.
Kai and Stiles pulled me off of him, and I jerked away, before storming out.
I called Derek, and had him pick me up. I put the stuff from Allison's in the back seat of his car, and then sat next to him. He noticed how upset I was, and Argent's blood on my fist. He put his hand on my knee.
"Abi, are you okay?"
I shook my head. "No, Derek, I'm not. I just need to clear my head for a bit." I explained.
He nodded. "Okay. I can help with that."
He drove me nearby the woods, and we got out of his car, and went for a walk. I explained everything that happened. We talked for hours, it was almost night.
It was getting cold, and I'd forgotten my jacket back at his loft. He put his arm around me and chuckled.
"I can't believe it, you aren't wearing your leather jacket! I think this is the first time I've ever seen you without it." He teased. I rolled my eyes.
"Oh, come on Derek, you've seen me without it before." I smiled. He shrugged.
"Yeah, I guess I have. But, only when you aren't wearing anything at all." He smirked.
I punched him in the arm. "Derek!"
Before he could answer, we heard a familiar voice from behind us.
"Aw, how cute! You've already moved on from Kol!" Reagan smirked, Oliver right behind her.
"Now, he won't notice when we erase you from history!" Oliver laughed. Derek became very confused, and I kinda was too.
"What are you talking about?" Derek questioned. Reagan rolled her eyes.
"Ever hear of The Wild Hunt?" She asked, smirking widely. Our eyes widened. We both had.
The Wild Hunt, erased people from history, and they were never seen again. They were impossible to find, my dad had been trying for years.
"Bye bye Absinthe." She smirked, before taking the whip and tossing it out to hit me, Derek threw his arm out in front of me, and it caught him, wrapping around his wrist.
Reagan smirked at him, before pulling the whip, and making him disappear.
My eyes widened. "Derek!" I exclaimed, before my mind went blank, confused on why I was yelling.
Who's Derek?
I thought to myself, trying to make myself remember.
Then Oliver took out one of The Wild Hunt pistols, and shot me with it.
And I finally got my wish, I didn't exist anymore, no one would remember me, and it felt horrible and terrifying.
