"Liam!"
"Emma?!"
"Oh my god, Emma!" Liam said excitedly as he stood up from the ground. I happily made my way towards the door and was about to open it when someone had pulled me back.
"What do you think you're doing?" Hunter whispered huskily in my ear.
"Hunter, I know him. That's Liam!" I said as I pulled away from Hunter and started bouncing up and down.
"Where do you know him from?" Hunter questioned.
"He's in my pack!"
"But I thought you and Dylan were the only survivors?" Hunter asked, with one eyebrow raised.
"So did I!"
I reached out to open the door when Hunter grabbed my wrist, pulled me back once again and whispered softly,
"I don't trust him."
"Then trust me," I said putting my hand over his.
"Liam would never hurt a fly."
Hunter let out a deep sigh and ran his fingers through his hair before nodding his head. I quickly threw open the door and bent down before pulling Liam in a hug. He hugged me back tightly, and a few seconds later, I could feel my shoulder getting wet. I only hugged him tighter and let a few of my tears slip out.
After a few minutes, I pulled away from the hug and turned to Hunter, who was already staring at us. I wiped my eyes, stood up and walked towards Hunter.
"Can we take him upstairs?"
"What?"
"Come on, it isn't like he's a threat, and I think he would probably be happy to see Dylan."
"Dylan's alive too?!" Liam asked shocked.
I nodded my head and Liam's smile grew wider before running towards me and hugging my waist, as he wasn't tall enough to reach my shoulders. I turned towards Hunter who nodded his head before leading Liam outside and towards home.
He now sat on the couch of our living room, bouncing up and down as we waited for Dylan.
"When's he---"
Suddenly, the sounded of the door was heard through the living room and all our heads snapped to the door. In walked Dylan and Sam, who didn't seem to finish their conversation.
"Dylan!" Liam said as he jumped off the couch and ran towards Dylan, tackling him in a hug. Surprised, Dylan fell back causing Liam to fall on top of him. Dylan groaned and rubbed his head before looking up to find Liam smiling down on him.
"You really are alive!" Liam exclaimed happily.
"Liam?"
"Liam!" Dylan yelled before pulling him in a hug, squishing him.
"Wait, is that Liam?" Sam asked.
"Sam!" Liam yelled out before getting away from Dylan's arms and tackling Sam. Luckily, Sam wasn't caught off guard like Dylan and managed to catch them both before falling.
Sam hugged Liam tightly as he asked him a question making him tense up.
"What are you doing here?"
Liam quickly pulled away from the hug, scratched his head before rubbing his eyes tiredly and staring up at us.
"I-I have something to teeelll yooooou." He slurred.
"Liam, are you alright?" I asked as I walked towards him, shaking his shoulders gently.
"Liam is -yawn- getting tired." was all he said before he closed his eyes and fell asleep in my arms. You could tell he was asleep by the soft snores that were coming out of his nose.
"Liam? Liam!"
I turned to Hunter, worry written all over my face.
"The pack doctor is coming." He reassured before walking towards me. He helped me set Liam up on the couch before calming me down.
I just hope the doctor gets here fast
-----
"What are you thinking about?" Hunter asked as he laid next to me.
"Everything," I muttered before I buried my head between my legs.
"I just-I just can't believe Liam is alive."
When the pack doctor had arrived, she took forever to examine Liam properly as he kept shifting in his sleep. The doctor said that the injection she gave him had a side-effect, which made him sleep.
"Emma?" Hunter called and I hummed in response.
"How do you know Liam?"
I let out a sigh and lifted my head up, so I was looking at him. I leaned into him and rested my head on his shoulder.
"Dylan and I used to babysit him when there were important pack meetings or when they had a date night. He also joined in on our pranks."
I let a chuckle as I began to remember the past.
six years ago
"Emma! Dylan!" Liam called out as he ran towards the pair.
"Liam, you're just on-time," Emma whispered before hushing him up. They all stared at another one of their helpless victims, who was about to fall into their trap any second now.
Suddenly, a loud shriek was heard and the trio ran away from the crime-scene, giggling. Once they reached the forest and had calmed down, Dylan gestured towards Emma's pocket.
"The money?"
Emma sighed before taking out three twenty-dollar bills and giving one of them to Dylan. It wasn't unusual that they have been paid to prank people. Most pack members would usually come to them for advice, so they started up a business.
At that time, Amy had hired the trio to prank some girl since when they last came to visit, Amy had caught her flirting with Sam. However, she couldn't do anything as their car was ready outside the packhouse, and she was surrounded by the whole pack.
"How about I keep yours with me?" She asked the six-year-old.
"What? I want something in return then. It isn't fa--
He was cut off by a soft feeling on his cheek, planted by the thirteen-year-old girl.
"There! You got something in return."
Liam blushed before nodding his head.
"Finally, now let's go home. My mom told me she's making cookies." Dylan bragged, causing the other two to shout out,
"I want!"
"Me too!"
The trio then ran towards the Alpha household, wanting cookies. However, what Emma and Dylan didn't know was that was the day little Liam had gained a crush.
"Emma, what are you seriously worried about?" Hunter asked, interrupting my thoughts.
"If Liam is alive," I said hesitantly, "do you think, maybe, others might be alive too?"
Hunter pulled me closer so that we were cuddling before letting out a sigh, and stroking my hair.
"Don't get your hopes up Emma, he might be the only one."
"Now let's go to sleep, it's pretty late outside."
Not having the energy to speak, I nodded my head before getting into the covers. I closed my eyes as I felt my back pressed against Hunter's chest. I let out a sigh and feel the darkness taking over before I was finally asleep.
-------
"Good morning!" Amy chirped as I entered the kitchen, probably looking like a mess. I groaned and looked about to her with tired eyes, to find her in one hand holding a cup of coffee and in the other, a chocolate donut.
"Why are you always here?" I grumbled before grabbing an apple from the basket.
"Sam does his paperwork here and doesn't want me to stay home alone cause I'm pregnant," She said, rolling her eyes.
"Why are you in such a grumpy mood anyway? Liam's alive! We should throw a party and invite the whole pack. I'll tell Lillian and her 'll---"
"Do," I interrupted, "Do you think others might be alive?"
Her expression changed and she looked at me with sad eyes.
"You never know. All we can do now is wait for Liam to---
"Liam's awake!" Dylan yelled as he burst into the kitchen.
We all quickly ran upstairs and towards my previous room, where I should be staying, and where Liam was now staying to find Liam talking with Sam. Liam's expression changed as he looked in our direction.
"Emma! Dylan!"
"Liam!" Amy squealed before tackling him into a hug.
"Amy!"
"Alright Amy, I think you're hurting the baby and Liam," Sam warned. Amy rolled her eyes once again before releasing Liam and standing next to Sam. Dylan and I sat on the bed with Liam.
"How long was I asleep?"
"For almost a day."
"What?!" He yelled out.
His once happy expression changed into a worried one. He looked around the room and started biting his nails.
"I have to tell you something."
We all looked at him expectantly, waiting for him to say something. He looked around the room before taking a deep breath.
"Dylan, your father---
Suddenly, Sam stood up with a serious expression on and spoke, "A rouge has entered the pack," before running out of the room. Dylan and I looked at each other before nodding and turning to Liam, who held a worried expression.
"Amy, stay here with Liam. Dylan and I will check this 'rouge' thing out."
We then ran out of the room and out of the house, towards the pack borders. There, we found two of the pack warriors holding down a man, whose face was facing the ground. Hunter, Sam and John stood at the side, all staring at the rouge, probably mind linking each other.
"Sam, what's going on?" Dylan asked.
Everyone's faces snapped towards us and the rouge looked up, to reveal the man I saw in the mall.
Suddenly, Dylan was no longer at my side and sat on top of the rouge, growling.
"You, you killed my father!"
"No Luke, I am your father!!!"
