Chapter 11

I woke up to the sound pots clanging. All werewolves have advance hearing than humans, alpha-blooded and white wolves a bit more than the rest.

I rubbed my head, trying to seize the pain when I had noticed that Hunter was gone. Shrugging it off, I went downstairs to find the cause of all the noise.

"Amy, what are you doing?" I asked as she picked up a few pots from the floor.

"I'm cooking breakfast for when Hunter's family arrives," Amy says, placing all the pots on the kitchen table.

"So, what are you cooking?"

"Pancakes."

"Um, Amy, that looks like waffles." I pointed off. She groaned and opened the cabinets searching for who knows what.

"Amy, are you alright? You've been acting.... different these past few days." I said worriedly. She turned towards me and started yelling,

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN? I HAVEN'T BEEN ACTING DIFFERENT, I'M PERFECTLY FINE."

I didn't want to tell her that she spit all over my face so I calmly backed away before running upstairs. I didn't realize I bumped into someone.

"Sam? What are you doing here?" I asked curiously.

"I have paperwork."

"Is Hunter with you?"

"No, he went to pick up his parents and sister."

"Is Dylan with you?"

"No, he's probably sleeping."

"That lazy bum," I muttered before looking up to Sam.

"I'm going to go wake him up."

I turned to go to Dylan's room when Sam grabbed my wrist.

"Wait, I wanted to ask you. Have you noticed any change in Amy's behaviour?" He asked quietly.

"Ya, she just yelled at me when I asked if she was okay."

"She's been avoiding me. And whenever I try to talk to her she would ignore me. Do you think she's mad at me?"

"Definitely."

"But for what?"

"Did you forget your anniversary?" I asked.

"My what?"

I face-palmed myself and stared at him.

"Your anniversary of the day you met," I explained.

"Who keeps track of those days?" He asked.

"GIRLS DO," I yelled.

"No wonder she's upset," I muttered.

"What do you think I should do?"

"Get flowers, chocolate and pray she doesn't kill you."

"Thanks, little sis."

And like that, he left me alone, causing me to head back towards Dylan's room. I opened the door to shut it right after.

"How loud can this guy snore?" I muttered before opening the door once again. I slowly walked towards his bed, staring at his sleeping figure.

The blanket covered half of his body. His right leg poked out of the blanket and off the bed. He was cuddling a pillow, drooling on it too.

For once, he actually looked......... cute.

Well, moments over.

I jumped on the bed and sat on top of Dylan. I jumped on him yelling, "Wake up, wake up, wake up idiot" yet all he did was let out a groan.

"Dylan's asleep, leave a message after the beep." He muttered before going back to sleep.

"There's no beep," I said after waiting for a few minutes.

"Then you can't leave a message." He murmured.

"Wake up Dylan, Hunter's family is coming," I said as I lay on him, looking at the ceiling.

"Then go hang out with them."

And like that, he pushed me out of the bed. I gasped before huffing and walking towards the door,

"Fine Dylan, but if you wake up one morning and head downstairs to find no apples in the basket, I ate them all."

And like that, I closed the door and made my way downstairs to find pancakes, waffles and eggs set on the table.

"Damn Amy, you can really cook."

She came into the dining room balancing three plates of eggs.

"Thanks," She said before putting them all on the table.

"Amy, are you alright? You seem different these past few days. Does this have anything to do with Sam?" I asked.

She let out a sigh and walked towards me.

"Yes, this has something to do with Sam. But you can't tell him." She warned.

"Till the day Mc Donalds run out," I said putting a hand over my heart.

"He--

Amy was cut off by the door flying open, almost knocking down all the cups. I looked at Amy who was staring at the door, as she was waiting for something. Suddenly, I was tackled by something or someone. We both fell to the ground, the person landing on top of me.

"You are real." The female voice on top of me said as she stared at me.

She had mid-length blond hair and green eyes, making her look almost like Rapunzel.

"Sarah, get off my mate" Hunter growled as he walked towards us.

"Sorry" She apologized after getting off me. She helped me up and I thanked her for it, before looking up to her.

"It's fine," I said smiling. Although inside, I'm a nervous wreck.

"I'm Sarah, that idiot's sister." She said shaking my hand.

"I'm Emma."

"Dear, you need to learn how to control your excitement." A blond woman who looked no older than forty said.

"Sorry, mom," Sarah said pouting.

I see where she gets her looks from

"Now," The woman said turning to me, "Let me meet my future daughter-in-law."

The woman squealed before hugging me, well tackling me except this time, I didn't fall on the floor.

"Mom!"

"Quit your whining."

And like that, she pulled away and took her place next to a man who looked like the older version of Hunter. Speaking of Hunter, he came and took his place next to me, his arms finding their way around my waist.

"Sorry about my mother," Hunter whispered.

"She tends to get over-excited."

"Sorry about my son. He forgets how to have fun."

"As you know, I'm Hunter's mother, but call me Lillian."

"I'm Emma, your son's mate."

"Is he bothering you yet?" Sarah said, interrupting our conversation.

"Sarah!"

"Now, now, kids...... shut up." The man, who most probably is Lillian's mate, said groaning.

"I'm Harold, their father," Hareld said, giving me his hand.

"Nid to meet you, sir, I'm Emma," I said shaking his hand. He laughed and shook his head, before saying,

"Please, call me Harold. Sir makes me seem old."

"Alright, Harold," I said nervously.

"You know, I always thought that even when we all meet Hunter's mate, I wouldn't be forgotten," Amy mumbled loud enough for all of us to hear.

"Amy? When did you get here?" Sarah asked confused.

"I WAS HERE THE WHOLE TIME!"

"Let's eat breakfast," Hunter said as he walked towards the dining room with me next to him.

We all sat down, Hunter on my right, Amy on my left while Lillian and Sarah sat in front of me.

To say I was a nervous wreck was an understatement. I felt like vomiting while everyone stared at me.

After a while, I started to get less nervous.

I talked with Sarah, Lillian and Harold and learned a lot of things.

Sarah was the upbeat one in their family. She would wake up every morning at six to take a full jog around the pack, sometimes, even force her parents or Hunter to tag along.

Lillian was the only one with fashion sense and was quite dramatic. Their words, not mine. They said that once, Sarah wore sweatpants to her birthday party. Lillian fainted on the couch.

And lastly, Harold. He was the only one with common sense, his words not mine. He was also very protective of his mate and his daughter, which makes sense. Although, he grew on Sam and taught him all his puns.

And lastly, Hunter.

From what his family had said, he was a quiet kid who only spoke when needed. Always quiet, always observing and always keeping to himself. They said that he hated social events, hated dressing up and hated leaving his house.

They told me many stories about when Hunter was a kid. Like how he hated cutting his hair, how he loved being alone and how he hated spending time with all his pack.

I giggled as they told me the story about how Hunter cut his own hair so he didn't have to leave the house.

"I'm glad Hunter had found his mate," Lillian said as she wiped her mouth with the napkin.

"Emma, wanna hang out this afternoon?" Sarah said randomly.

"I would love too but Amy and I are going shopping."

"You could join us." Amy and I said in unison.

"I'd love too," Sarah said excitedly.

"Count me in too." Lillian joined in.

"Mom!"

"Shut up boy."

"Dad!"

"Honey--

"Shut up Harold."

"Sorry boy."

"I'll mindlink Lisa to tell her to join in on our shopping spree," Amy said.

"Lisa, I haven't seen her since--

"Emma, I'm here. Don't you dare eat my apples." Dylan said as he burst into the dining room.

"It's been an hour."

"I fell asle---

He stopped himself and stared at Sarah weirdly.

"Dylan?"

"Dylan, are you okay?"

"Mate!"
