Bonus Chapter : Hybrids

Riker's P.O.V

This family is weird.

Minus the fact that my older sister Rachel is a full werewolf while I'm half werewolf and half vampire, and excluding the story of how my parents met, this family is weird.

" But I want to go to Disneyland! " My uncle Nick screamed like a toddler.
" But I want to go to Sea World! " His daughter Ellie screamed back.
" Why don't you both just go to a six flags? " My sister Rachel suggested.
" We don't like six flags " The screamed back at her before continuing their pointless bickering.

I rolled my eyes before stepping outside. Those two were giving me and headache and it didn't help that my uncle Ryder was laughing at the whole thing.

" Lord help them all " I mumbled as I walked into the forest, trying to get some piece and quiet.

I had just recently turned eighteen. My sister Rachel was nineteen while Nick and Faiths kid Ellie was fifteen, turning sixteen in a few weeks.

Rachel was the only one who had found their mate. Rachel had met Matt when she turned seventeen. I hate the guy. He's always so stuck up. Even though he's just a simple pack member, he acts as if he's all high and mighty like an Alpha, even though he's not Alpha until my dad steps down. He doesn't even deserve the title. He only gets it because he's Rachel's mate. He's a loser if you ask me but my sister would slap me if I ever said that out loud.

I found my little spot in the forest and sat down on a rock next to the water. I found this spot when I was seven and it's been my own little personal heaven since then. The only one who knows about this spot is my mom.

I've always been closer to my mom then my dad. Rachel would say the opposite. It's probably because Rachel is a full werewolf like our father while I'm a hybrid. My mom helps with all the things I need to know about being half vampire. I can learn all about the werewolf stuff here in the pack, but my moms the only one who can help with the vampire stuff.
I could go to her friends for help, but it's not really the same. It's kind of awkward.

" Alone? "

I turned around and saw no one. I used my senses and didn't detect anyone here either.

Maybe I'm going crazy?

" Oh right. You can't see me " The voice laughed.
" Who's there? " I asked as I stood up and looked around.
" Up here " The voice answered.

I looked up and saw a girl standing on the branch of a nearby tree. She gracefully jumped down and made her way over to me.

" Hello " She said with a smile.
" Hi " I replied, smiling as well.

I knew she was the one. Both my vampire and werewolf side was going crazy. She smelt like roses and rain.

Her long blue hair was tied back into a braid, her bright hazel eyes seemed to sparkle, and she looked utterly confused as she looked at me.

" What are you? " She asked.
" Hybrid " I answered.
" Between what? " She questioned more specifically.
" Vampire and werewolf " I replied honestly.
" Cool " She smiled as she sat down.

I sat down next to her and smiled.

" What are you? " I asked.

I couldn't tell what she was. I knew she recognized me as her mate, which meant she had to be either part werewolf, vampire or demon.

" Werewolf, demon and witch tribrid " She replied with a smirk.
" Cool " I smiled.

Growing up being a hybrid was hard. Everyone hates hybrids because they're a mixture of multiple things. Apparently that's a bad thing. People have nothing against a vampire and a werewolf being mates but if they have a child that's a hybrid? The child is looked down upon.

My parents didn't care, they loved me either way, but yet I always thought that my sister has a hidden hatred for hybrids. I guess that's a question I'll never know the answer to.

I was happy my mate was a hybrid.

" What's your name mate? " She asked as she smiled back.
" Riker, you? " I replied.
" Lily " She answered.
" Beautiful " I whispered.

Lily blushed and turned her head in the opposite direction.

" Lily? " I asked awkwardly. 
" Yeah? " She said as she faced me again.
" What are you doing here? Cause I know you don't belong to this pack " I questioned, careful about what words I used so it wouldn't offend her or seem rude.
" Just passing through " She shrugged.
" Are you going to leave? " I asked, hoping she wouldn't.
" No. I ain't got anyone to go back to, so I'll stay if that's ok with whoever runs this place " She smiled.
" He'll say yes " I said.
" How can you be so sure? " She asked.
" He's my dad " I shrugged.
" Your dads the alpha? " She asked surprised.
" Yep " I replied.
" Can....can I meet them? " She asked.
" Of course you can! " I said happily.

I took Lily's hand in mine and we began the walk back to my house.

" Riker where are you? " My father mind linked me.
" I was in the woods, I'm coming home now. I've got a surprise " I answered.

My father's side of the mind link went blank and I turned my attention back to my mate.

" How old are you Lily?" I asked
" I just turned eighteen a few days ago, you? " She replied.
" Eighteen " I said.

Lily smiled slightly and as soon as I saw it, a smile made its way onto my face as well.

" Mom? Dad? " I called out as me and Lily entered the pack house.
" Riker! Oh gosh you're ok " My mother said as she ran into the room.
" I'm more than ok " I replied happily as I glanced at Lily.
" Glad to see you're ok Riker. Who's this? " My father asked as he stood next to my mother.

I could tell by his tone that he was weary of Lily. He didn't know her and she was a rouge that I had just brought into the pack house. If she was dangerous, she could try to kill us and possibly succeed.

" This is Lily. My mate " I said.

Both my parents eyes went wide and an adorable blush found it's way onto Lily's face.
I dropped Lily's hand and put my arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer towards me.

" Well it's about time! " Rachel yelled as she walked into the room.
" Let's introduce her to everyone! " My mother smiled.

They all left the room and I turned to look at my beautiful mate.

" Be prepared. They're crazy " I laughed.
" I think I can handle them " Lily smiled.
" Let's hope so " I said as I led her into the main living room.

Lily and me were instantly surrounded by everyone. They yelled over top of each other, trying to make their voices heard. I knew they just wanted to meet my mate but damn they were annoying.

" EVERYONE CALM DOWN! " I yelled.

Everyone instantly shut up and sat down on the couches. Lily turned me around and pulled me into a hug.

" It's ok, calm down. " She whispered into my ear.

I took a deep breath of her scent and relaxed.

" Thank you " I whispered to her.

Multiple comments were made about how cute we looked, but I didn't care. My mate was in my arms and I was happy. I tightened my hold on Lily before letting go and turning to face my family.

" This is Lily, she's my mate, she's eighteen and now we're going to go " I said.
" Riker! " Lily said as she smacked the back of my head.
" Hey! What was that for? " I asked as I rubbed the back of my head.
" Don't be rude. They're your family " She replied.
" Sorry " I mumbled.
" She's good for you " My mother smiled.
" Thank you " Lily said with a smile of her own.

We all spent a few hours talking. Lily seemed to be getting along with my family.

All except two.

Rachel and Matt kept sending careful glances and hatful glares at me and my mate. Both my vampire and werewolf sides were pissed at the disrespect they were showing my mate. They barley even knew her and they automatically hate her! I leaned my head on Lily's shoulder and relaxed, trying to ignore them. For now.

After a few hours, everyone excused themselves to go to sleep. Lily went to use the washroom and I was cleaning up the living room.

" Riker? " Rachel asked as she walked into the room.
" Yeah? " I replied, turning to face her.
" Are you sure she's your mate? " She asked.

A small growl escaped my lips.

" Of course I am " I answered.
" She seems...odd. How did you two meet again? " She said.
" How we met is none of your business Rachel. I didn't question Matt when you met him and we all know how much I hate him. He's a coward and doesn't deserve to be here. Now get lost and leave me and my mate alone! " I snapped, tired of her rude, annoying and disrespectful comments.
" I'm just looking out for you Riker! I'm your sister for God's sake! " She yelled.
" Well I never asked for a sister did I!? I hate you Rachel and we all know once mom and dad retire from their positions in a few weeks, this pack will suffer with you and Matt leading it! " I screamed.

Both my vampire and werewolf side wanted to snap and end her life. I wanted to as well.

Lily and Matt ran into the room and started to drag us into different rooms.

" You're going to regret this Riker! I swear the minute I take over you'll be gone! You're dead!" Rachel screamed as she tried to loosen herself from Matt's hold.
" No, you'll be dead " I smirked.

I turned around and took Lily upstairs and into my room. I made sure she was ok before slamming the door shut and letting out a angry growl.

" You don't deserve to be treated like that Riker" Lily states as she walks in circles around me.
" You're a hybrid. You have way more power and you're way more advanced than those simple pure breeds. You're stronger, faster, smarter and have a better sense of smell. You should be the alpha of this pack, not her and her stupid sidekick. " Lily says.

I think about for a moment. Everyone hates hybrids because they're better than themselves. They make them feel weak and useless but in reality, it is them that are weak and useless.

" I agree " I stated.
" Before I found you, I was a part of a.....pack. A pack made only of hybrids. We were strong, fast and deadly. They're around here, waiting. Waiting for someone to make the first move. Waiting for you. They want you to lead them Riker. You're strong and can easily defeat your sister. " She explained as we sat down on the bed.
" You Riker. Only you can challenge her, and win. You will win " She whispered in my ear.
" I'll do it. I'll do it tomorrow, in front of everyone " I replied with a evil smirk on my face.

During training, in front of the whole pack. It was perfect.

" I know you'll win. You're a hybrid, and my amazing mate "

The timing was perfect. The pack was training together. Everyone was together.

" You ready? " Lily asked as we walked towards everyone.
" I'm ready " I replied.

We took our last steps towards our destiny and everyone eyes turned to us.

" Rachel! " I called out, determination clear in my voice.

Rachel and Matt stepped through the crowed and faced us.

" Riker what are you doing? " She asked.
" Taking something that should be mine " I answered.

I took a deep breath. Everything was going to change.

" Change for the better " Lily said in my mind.

Luckily Lily was part witch which aloud her to cast a spell on us so we could communicate through our own mind link even though we weren't mated.

My vampire side and my werewolf side agreed with Lily's statement. They hated what we were doing but they knew, what I was going to do was for us. For all hybrids, for the greater good.

For me.

" I, Riker, son of Alpha Alexander and Luna Laurin, challenge my sister Rachel for the future title of Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack " I stated loud enough for everyone to hear.

Loud gasps were heard as soon as I finished.

" Riker! What are you doing?! " My father yelled as he and my mother stood next to Rachel and her mate.
" Taking what should be mine " I replied.
" You can't do this! " My mother yelled.
" It's too late. He's already challenged her. They have to compete " Matt said.

Yeah like everyone didn't already know that. Thanks for stating the obvious loser.

Lily snickered beside me. I could tell she heard my thoughts.

Rachel and me took steps towards each other until we were face to face and everyone formed a big circle around us.

" I don't want to hurt you " Rachel said.
" Too bad " I smirked.
" First to pin the other one for ten seconds, no killing. Deal? " Rachel bargained.
" Deal " I agreed.

We took a few steps back before Rachel said something that would forever ruin our relationship.

" You're just a stupid hybrid Riker. You won't win " Rachel said.

It was said. I knew she always had a secret hatred of hybrids. Now it was clear.

" Game on " I replied.

Rachel shifted into her wolf form and I smirked. No matter what form I was in, I was stronger.

Rachel ran at me but I ducked and grabbed her neck. She let out a small wimped before I extended my claws and slightly sliced open her stomach. Rachel growled and freed herself from my grip, but I was smarter than that. I shifted into my other form. A form where I was half werewolf and half vampire. Rachel's eyes went wide before I ran at her. I ran at the speed of light and before she knew it, I had her pinned to the ground.

" That was too easy " I spoke, my voice sounding like three instead of one.

" Eight " Lily counted, reminding me of how long I had her pinned.
" Nine " My mother whispered.
" Ten " My father spoke.

I let go of Rachel and smirked. Lily walked up to me and took her place beside me while everyone else moved and stood in front of us.
Loud growls, howls and footsteps were heard behind me but I just simply smiled. The hybrids stood behind us, happily.

We won.

My eyes scanned across everyone in front of me as a smirk found its way onto my face.

" This is gonna be fun ".

Lily's P.O.V

This was what he was meant to do. I know it and....she knows it. But I also know he's going to be pissed when he finds out.

Oh well.

Sorry Riker, but we needed you.

We needed you to be ready.

Might lead to a sequel, might not. Hey I could just leave you all hanging and never say anything about the events that took place in this bonus chapter.
