Nate POV

When Melanie told me no, it felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest.
When she told me she has a boyfriend, it literally crushed me.
My mate denied me.
She's not a wolf, it's not the same as rejection, but it doesn't mean it hurt any less.
I left her without saying anything else.
I couldn't, no words were forming inside.
Just heartbreak.

I left the restaurant immediately.
I couldn't face the humiliation of sitting at the table with the guys.
As I go inside the pack house, Ariana runs up to me.
"You met your mate!" She squeals hugging me tightly. "Josh and Dominick told me."
I hug her unenthusiastically. "Yeah I met her, it's Melanie."
"Melanie?" She asked surprised. "My employee Melanie?"
"Yes." I frown.

She notices the frown on my face.
"Why aren't you happy Nathan?" She asked worried. "You finally met your mate."
I slump my shoulders. "Yeah I finally met my mate and she denied me. She already has a boyfriend."
Ariana gives me a hug. "It will be ok Nathan, you just have to give it time. She's human, it's not the same as being a wolf."

"I know, but what am I suppose to do?" I ask. "She didn't even give me a chance. What if she doesn't feel the way I feel about her?"
Ariana looks at me. "Nathan, you are a great guy. She would be crazy not to feel something for you, but you have to take it slow. Maybe we could invite them out? Get to know her." She suggest.
"Invite them out? Her and her boyfriend?" I ask surprised. "Yeah let's rub that in my face." I say as the guys walk inside.

"Rub what in your face?" Nick asked.
"Nothing." I say quickly.
Nick looks at Ariana.
"He asked Melanie on a date and she denied him. She has a boyfriend." She says. "The thing is, we are pretty close and she's never mention to me that she had a boyfriend." She says walking over to kiss her husbands.
"Really?" I ask. "Well I guess that was just her excuse to tell me no." I say defeated.

"Melanie isn't like that." Ariana says. "She wouldn't lie to you."
"Well I guess it doesn't matter because I will just have to move on from her." I say.
"Nathan, you can't give up that easy. It's better to have her as a friend than nothing at all." She says.
"Ari is right Nate." Josh cuts in. "That's how I felt about Ari when I was in love with her. At the time, she didn't feel that way about me, but I rather had her as my friend than nothing at all." He smiles. "Now look at us."

Ariana nods and smile. "See? You can't give up. I will call Melanie tonight and see if she wants to go out with all us for a night out. It won't be a double date or anything, just a night to get to know her." She smiles.
"Ok. I guess, but if her and her boyfriend are hanging all over each other, I'm out." I sigh deeply.
"Deal." Ariana giggles. "Don't worry, everything will be fine. I'm going to see if she wants to go out this Saturday. I will close the restaurant for the night just so my employees can enjoy their night too."

I nod and head out to my bar.
As I'm unlocking the doors, two women are leaving Tres Amores.
"Hello." One of the ladies say in a flirtatious voice.
I smirk. "Hello ladies."
"Do you own this place?" The other asked.
"Yes, I do. My grand opening is tomorrow actually." I smile.
"Wow, congratulations. I'm Ashley and this is Amanda." She says introducing them.
"Nice to meet you both. Would you like to come in for a drink?" I ask as I open the doors.
They giggle and nod as they walk inside with me.

"What would you like to drink?" I ask.
"Surprise us." Amanda giggles.
"Well I'm not a bartender and I'd hate to try to impress you by mixing drinks so we have whiskey and Tequila." I laugh.
"Tequila." They both say.

"Are you two sisters?" I ask.
"No. We're best friends." Ashley smiles as I pour twelve shots of tequila on the counter.
I nod as we all throw back four shots together.
I turn on some music and they start dancing on each other.
Amanda grabs me by the arm and pulls me in to dance on me.

"Would you like to take this party to your house?" Amanda asked.
I look up surprised. "My house?"
Ashley nods needy. "Yes."
I'm not going to lie, these are some fine ass females.
"I would love too, but my nieces and nephews are staying there."
I hate to lie, but I'd never bring girls back to the pack house.
It's disrespectful.

Ashley smiles. "Ok what about coming home with us?"
"With both of you?" I ask.
"Yes, we don't mind sharing." Amanda flirts. "We live right down the road in the apartments, we can walk there."
"Ok, let me lock up and I'll meet y'all out there." I say, cleaning up as they walk out the bar.

A few minutes later, we walk to their apartments.
As soon as we get inside, both of them get naked and are all over me.
It's not my first threesome, but damn these girls weren't playing!
After an hour of making them both scream with pleasure.
They are both naked passed out in the bed.
I leave them a note thanking them for a great night, and leave with the regular I'll call you, but never will speech.
I know I'm going to hell.

I request an Uber back to the pack house and take a shower.
As the hot water, runs down my body, thoughts fill my head.
Why Spirit did you have to give me a human mate?
Was it because of how shitty of a son I was?
Was it because I need to be punished for being a womanizer?
After my shower, I throw on some boxers and lay in my bed.

Right before I pass out, a thought crosses my mind,
The easiest way to get over someone, is to get under another.
