Chapter-3
When I got home I managed to avoid bumping into anyone and got straight into the shower. As the water caressed my skin, my mind drifted to my biological parents. I missed them so much. Don't get me wrong I was extremely lucky and grateful for the Alpha and Luna taking me in, but sometimes I just wondered what my life would have been like if I had grown up with my biological parents.
Flashback:
"Mommy! Mommy! Look I got you a flower!" I smiled at my mom as I handed her the flower.
"Aw, thank you Anna. It's lovely," she said in awe, looking down at me with adoring eyes.
She put the flower in her hair and did the same to my hair with another flower. I grinned at her, showing the gap where my front two teeth were missing.
"Look at you. You're getting so big!" she chuckled, hugging me tightly.
Suddenly, my daddy stood protectively in front of me and mommy.
"Daddy, what's wrong?" I asked.
"Elisa, take Annabelle and run!" Daddy whispered to mommy.
"What? No. I'm staying," Mommy whispered back.
She turned to me and pulled me into a tight hug. It was the kind of hug she always gave me when we wouldn't see each other for a while. I hugged her back still confused and felt something wet trickle down my shoulder. My mommy pulled back with tears running down her face and said:
"Run to the pack house and don't look back. I love you," and with that she nudged me in the direction of the pack house and turned around, standing next to dad in a fighting stance.
"Mommy what's going on?" I whispered, but she didn't answer.
"Annabelle, go! We love you," Daddy demanded.
I hesitantly took off and ran through the forest away from the clearing. I ran as fast as my little 6-year-old legs could carry me. I was confused and panicked and all I knew was I had to get to the Alpha as soon as I could.
I was about half way there when I heard my fathers pained and sorrowful howl and our bond teared. No! He can't be! He can't be dead! Tears ran down my face as I carried on running and soon after I felt my mom's bond tear away from me too.
I collapsed to the floor, with no reason to carry on running. My parents were dead. I struggled to imagine a life without them, but now I had no choice. They wouldn't see me grow up. They wouldn't be there when I go into big school and they wouldn't see me meet my mate when I'm a bigger girl.
They were gone.
With that thought I let the exhaustion take over from running and curled into a ball, falling into a deep sleep on the forest floor.
End of flashback.
I woke from my daze and shook my head. I wiped away my tears that I hadn't noticed and turned off the water, sighing.
"I miss you guys," I whispered looking up, hoping somehow my parents heard me.
My farther had sent a distress call to the Alpha when the attack was happening. The Alpha and his men found me in the forest, curled up, caked in mud. He carried me home to the Luna and they made the decision to adopt me right then and there.
I wrapped a towel around myself and walked into the closet. I picked out some comfy night clothes and put them on. I brushed my hair, after towel drying it, and put it into a high ponytail.
I walked back into my room, flopped onto my bed and read a book until I fell into darkness.

Two weeks later:
My alarm started blaring out and I woke from my peaceful slumber with a pained groan. I turned the alarm off and rolled onto my back, trying to blink the sleep away. I lay there for a few minutes before I remembered why I set my alarm for 6 am. Sugar! Honey! Iced! Tea! I shot up out of bed and threw on some sweats and a top. I stumbled into the bathroom, rushed through my routine and dashed out the room while shoving my hair into a messy bun.
I ran downstairs, two at a time and made it to the music room. All the band were sat tuning their instruments and looked up at me, giving me an accusing look.
"I'm sorry okay? I'm here now!" I huffed and grabbed my violin.
We worked out the meal would last for about 3 hours at the most so decided to play 30 pieces that were about 5 or so minutes long. We started our first piece which we would play while people were walking in which we decided would be He's a Pirate, by Klaus Badelt . This one lasted about 5 minutes.
I was playing my solo when my dad walked in. He smiled a proud smile at me as I played an intense part. When I finished he was beaming.
"That sounds awesome guys. Keep it up! The meal will last about 2-3 hours so I hope you have enough pieces." he shot a look at me.
"Actually, father dearest,we have. Now off you pop! We have some practice to do!" I demanded, playfully.
"Yes ma'am!" he mock saluted and scurried off.
I shook my head with a quiet chuckle and saw Jace grinning at us from the corner of my eye.
"Right what's the next one?" I asked as I looked at the sheet that had all the times and orders.
"Oh yay! Eternal, by Evanescence! I love this track!" I put my violin back on the hook and sat in front of the piano.

After 3 hours of practice we decided we knew the performance off by heart and went to help set up the dinning hall. The hall had long tables which extended from one end of the room to the other and a roof that had large skylights. At the front of the hall was a grand stage that had stone steps going up each side, a bit like a staircase but one that had a very wide landing. At the back of the stage was a black cloth that went from the roof to the floor. It had a bunch of constellations all over it and across the middle in white calligraphy, it read "Welcome to the Blue Night pack."
I walked down the extremely long hall, that could easily seat three thousand people in, to the stage and helped set up the lighting and sound equipment. After tripping over about fifty thousand god damn wires, catching my fingers while clipping microphones into the holders and being attacked by all of the music stands, we finally set up the whole stage and I must say, it looked amazing.
There was the normal music stuff like monitors, microphone stands, music stands, speakers and amps, along with a PA system. The floor of the stage was draped in a pure white cloth with fairy lights around the boarders of the stage.
The long tables were covered in white cloth too, that matched the stage and there was roman candles placed neatly along them. The chairs also had white cloth over them, like how they are set out at weddings. There was vases with bright flowers placed on the tables to add a little pop of colour and of course there was the normal stuff that is set out at meals like those plates that they put the dinner plates on top of, black napkins, cutlery, all of that kind of stuff.
I looked at my watch and saw it was 3:00pm, which gave me two hours to get ready. I dashed out of the dinning room and ran up three flights of stairs to my room. I walked into the closet and grabbed my uniform which consisted of a pastel pink, lace skater dress that brushed my knees with an open back and some matching heels. I walked into the bedroom, dumped the uniform on my bed and went into the bathroom. I checked the clock to see it was 3:15pm. Oh goodness I've got to hurry, I thought to myself.
I sighed in content when the warmth of the shower water hit my body. When I realised I was in a rush, I quickly showered and made sure to shave too. I wrapped a towel around myself and my hair. 3:45pm. Hour and fifteen minutes left. Great.
I quickly dried my hair with the hair dryer and that took fifteen minutes alone. I pulled out my curling iron, curled my hair as quick as possible and put it into a simple, elegant updo ,which ended up taking half an hour. 4:30pm. By now I was starting to panic. I threw my dress on, and cursed at myself for doing my hair first, and made a start on my make-up.
I added a light layer of foundation to smooth out my completion and cover any discolouration, concealer to cover any blemishes that the foundation didn't fully cover, contoured my cheeks to bring depth to my face, bronzer to create the illusion that I had been in the sun, blush to add colour to my cheeks, highlight on my nose, corners of my eyes and the tops of my cheeks to add a subtle glow, thin black eyeliner to make my eyes pop and a thin layer of light pink lip-gloss. I threw on my heels and I looked at the clock, 4:45pm. I did a little victory dance because I was ready on time. I locked the door and made my way down to the dinning room.
When I got to the dinning room I ran the best I could to the stage in the heels and checked the instruments were tuned up correctly with the rest of the band. Noah was in her uniform which was exactly like mine but pastel green, Jasmine was in her uniform which was the same but pastel purple and the guys were in black tuxedos with different colour bow ties. Jace winked at me and complemented my appearance , making me blush slightly.
I walked over to Noah and Jasmine "You girls are looking hot tonight!" I joked. It was true though. They looked lovely.
"So are you girly! You're smoking!" Noah laughed. We all chuckled and I looked at the clock one last time. 5 o'clock.
"Okay then guys. This is it!" I said grabbing my violin and standing in front of my music stand, the others doing the same with their instruments.
Right on cue, people started filing in as we started to play. Attila all of a sudden yipped happily almost putting me off.
Attila! What the hell!?Shut up! I barked at her as it came onto my solo. As told she shut up.
The song finished and my dad did a welcoming speech that I didn't really listen too.
Can I speak now? Attila said practically bouncing off the inside of my head.
Yes go on.
MATE! She squealed. As she said that my head shot up and I scanned the crowd. My eyes met with a pair of warm brown eyes but they suddenly felt cold when I noticed who those eyes belonged to.
Alpha Casey, of Black Sun.
