Chapter-20
My eyes widened at what Casey had asked. I had completely forgotten that there would need to be a ceremony for me to become the official Luna of the pack. It was an acceptance ceremony which meant that the pack had their say of whether or not they wanted me as their Luna and I would meet the entire pack if they accepted me. If they didn't accept me, Casey would be forced to banish me from the pack and make a choice of if he was going to come with me or not. In other words I would become a rouge and he would have to decide if he wanted to reject me.
"I guess I can't hide from it forever. When do you want to do it?" I asked.
His face brightened with a warm smile. "This Friday?" He grinned.
My mouth dropped. "Friday?! Casey that's two days away. How are we going to have time to plan it?"
He let out a light chuckle. " I have been planning it ever since you accepted me. All that needs to be done is for everything to be put into place, including the star of the show." He smiled.
My heart fluttered in my chest and I let a warm smile spread across my face. " Aren't you just the cutest?" I grinned, wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling him into a soft and loving kiss.
He pulled away with a grin. "I think you are mistaken as the cutest is most definitely you," He chuckled.
I smiled, enjoying the warm feeling that flooded my veins. I believed that this warm feeling was love. I was about to kiss him again when we were rather rudely interrupted.
"Alpha, Luna!" Kyle panted as he ran towards us. He stopped a few feet in front of us heaving in breaths. It was clear that he had ran a long way in urgency which instantly pulled out my Luna side.
"What is it Kyle?" I asked before Casey even had chance to open his mouth.
"Alpha Callum of the Blue Night Pack is waiting at our borders with his men demanding to see you, Annabelle" Kyle gave Casey a side glance.
"What does he want?" Casey growled.
"He would not say. He only demanded to see her with the threat of war if we don't send her." Kyle explained, worriedly."This is the perfect time to unleash that plan we talked about, Alpha." He added.
Casey let out an angry growl and his eyes turned a shade darker. "I will not send her alone into a fight!"
Before Casey had even finished that sentence I had already started moving. I headed out of the music room and rushed through the corridors where people had started to bustle in preparation for war. I gulped and dashed through the corridors toward the main entrance and felt someones hand wrap around my wrist and pull me to the side. I gasped and stumbled slightly but didn't fall as whoever it was had supported me with their hands on my shoulders.
"Luna. This is not a good idea. Let me bring my warriors" Zed advised me.
"Zed, Callum specifically said he wants to speak with me. Who knows what will happen if we mess with his plan. We have to play along with the packs best interests in mind. I will link if I cannot handle the situation." I explained although before I had chance to move on, Casey had caught up. His eyes were black as coal. I gulped nervously.
"You go a few yards in front of us and we will hide until we are needed. We are doing this to use the element of surprise. Don't argue with me on this. Now go." Casey growled. I knew he wasn't acting this way because of me but I couldn't help but obey him. He was scary when he was like that.
I nodded and walked out of the house towards a clearing which was where my old pack was stationed. When we were away from the rush of people we broke into a run and I sprinted as fast as my legs would take me. I was determined to get to Callum before he could lash out. I didn't know why he was there but I was concerned that it involved people I loved getting hurt.
I couldn't see Casey behind me but I knew he was there, along with the warriors. I finally reached the end of the forest and slowed down to a walk, not wanting Callum to see me looking panicked. I walked out of the treeline and was slightly taken aback at what I saw. Callum, Jace and and only a small portion of the warriors from the pack were stood rather casually in the field. Some of them were even sat down. They didn't seem to pose any form of threat but I knew better than to trust what your eyes tell you, as looks can be deceiving.
"Alpha Callum" I spat. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
Callum chuckled. "Luna Annabelle. Now lets not lie to each other shall we? We both know this is no pleasure for either of us. Where's your puppy dog Alpha? Did he really send you out here all alone? Wow. That shows how much he cares for you."
I heard Casey growl throught the link. I'll give you puppy dog, you little shit.
I rolled my eyes. "You specifically requested I came alone. What do you want Callum?"
I stood a few feet in front of him, showing I was not afraid of him anymore but of course I still was. He terrified me. I was concerned about why he had come this far to get to me. It clearly wasn't just a passing visit.
"Well if I told you, where's the fun in that?" He let out a dark chuckle and I gulped. I still stood my ground though.
"Get out of here Callum. Before I send my whole pack of wolves to shred your pathetic excuse of an army. I mean seriously. Can you even call this an army? What happened to the rest of them?" I snorted.
I took a step back about to turn away when suddenly a throwing knife was flying through the air in my direction. I gasped, startled and barely dodged it. I whipped my head around to see it stab straight into a tree. Whoever threw it was a very good shot. I turned back to see Callum smirking. I gulped again.
"Carl, Sam. Grab that pathetic waste of oxygen and bring her to the cars. We're leaving." Callum's facade was suddenly gone and his face was dark with an unreadable expression.
I growled at what he called me and stood in a fighting stance. I recognised the two warriors. They used to join in with Callum's teasing. Fortunately though, i knew their strengths. They rolled their eyes at my posture and walked forward. They circled me in a way to intimidate me and make me back down but I only held my head higher. I watched them waiting to see who was going to throw the first punch and I also assessed them. I knew their strength when I was being beaten but I had never fought back. I knew the power behind their punches though and I knew that I could handle any pain they inflicted. Neither of them were particularly bulky, they were both a little smaller than Jace and looked to have slightly less muscle. I can take these, I thought to myself.
Deciding that I would surprise them and make the first move, I leapt forward onto the stronger looking one of the two, knowing that if I took him down first, I would have an easier fight with the weaker one. I growled, letting my claws and fangs extend. I clawed at his face as I flew towards him. This knocked him off of his feet and got a few cuts on his face with my claws before he had even hit the ground. He growled out in pain and tried to force me off but I used his hazed state to get a few hits in.
I threw punches at his face and got a few in before I was ripped off of him by the other guy and pushed to the ground. I hit my head as I fell which made me a little dazed but I shook it off and threw a kick to the place the sun doesn't shine. He groaned and doubled over in pain and I shot to my feet. I threw my knee into his face with so much force I heard his nose break.
He cried out in pain and fell to the floor. I kicked him in the face so hard that it knocked him out and spun around to throw another hit towards the other warrior. He dodged it this time and punched me in the stomach which winded me and knocked me off of my feet. He started kicking me as I was on the ground and I took a moment to get my breath back. I groaned as he kicked me and protected my head with my arms.
"SAM! That's enough!" Callum roared. "We need her alive you moron."
This distracted the warrior and I managed to gain the advantage again, wrapping my hands around his ankle and pulling with all the force I had in me, and my wolf, and his leg popped out of it's socket with a clunk. He roared in pain, falling to the floor and I rolled out of the way of his tumbling body, standing up over him. I stomped as hard as I could on his face, finally knocking him out, or maybe killing him, I could't tell because I ran toward Callum's retreating figure.
I jumped onto Callum's back but he shocked me by me by throwing me to the floor. His frame towered over me and all of my confidence vanished. I was all too familiar with being in this situation.
"What do you want from me?" I screamed at him, tears filling me vision.
"Okay, fine. I will tell you" He chuckled. "Now you have left the pack, you technically aren't my sister anymore and since I overthrew my father, there is no one to stop me doing this. You will be mine."
I frowned. "What the hell does that mean?"
He grinned, darkly, kneeling down beside me. "It means that you are stronger than my mate and the perfect dog to breed strong pups"
I chocked on my gasp. "You want to fucking breed me?" I pulled myself to my feet, the anger now fuelling me.
A loud growl rumbled through the trees with over whelming power which shook the birds out of the trees. The noise stunned all of the warriors. Casey came barrelling towards us with so much anger in him that he was half way shifted. He threw Callum to the floor.
"OVER MY DEAD BODY!" He roared and fully shifted.
Callum shifted too as a wave of wolves came barrelling towards me from the trees on the opposite side of the clearing. The two alphas were rolling around in a mass of fur and I watched, panicked from all the wolves heading my way and worried for the welfare of my mate.
"PROTECT THE LUNA!" I heard Zed roar as our wolves came flooding out of the treeline.
No harm comes to the beta! I said to Casey in panic, hoping he would relay the message to everyone else.
Before any other words could be said, wolves collided into wolves and a line of wolves appeared in front of me, protecting me from the wolves trying to get me. I saw Zed's wolf look at me over his shoulder and I gave him a nod in thanks, which he returned with his own nod.
I saw a familiar brown wolf running towards us and I threw myself beyond the protection of my wolves, directly in the wolves path. He shifted as he reached me and pulled me into a hug. "Belle!" he cried.
Zed roared at him and approached him but I put up my hand to signal him to stop. "Zed no! He's on our side, he's my best friend."
He stop growling and nodded turning his attention to the rest of the wolves that were heading towards us. Me and Jace shifted and he nudged me back behind the line of protection, standing right next to Zed.
Jace looked at me and gave me a reassuring nod. Then he shocked me by turning on his pack and fighting alongside me.
