Chapter sixteen ✔️
Song : Nothing Like Us by Justin Bieber

Radiance Collins' POV
Approximately six weeks since I came here.
One week since my period and 'heat'.
One week and two days since I've stayed with Bentley.
Now, I had to 'prove' that I was 'worthy' enough.
Funny, how I'm chosen by the Moon Goddess, yet they have so little faith in me.
Just because I'm 'human'.
I knew that since the day I had arrived, words spread like wildfire. There were some who said I was the Luna, some said I'm another girl the Alpha brings in, some even sneered at me when I walked past them.
Doesn't take an idiot to know they despised me just because I was a mere human.
Don't even get me started on the amount of disrespect I had gotten from them.
I couldn't help but feel a surge of anger bubbling inside of me. I was never one who hold grudges, as you can tell.
I also found out that Luna Elena was my birth mom. No wonder I could hit off so well with her.
Bentley squeezed our interlocked hands, as if sensing my discomfort. I thanked him mentally for that, because I was calming down.
"You are all gathered here to be informed that there would be a match at three o'clock. This match would prove whether the Alpha's human mate is worthy to be our Luna." Elder Jon shouted out, his voice reaching till the end of the field.
He was one of those wolves I met in the last few days, and I could see his displeasure swimming in his eyes when he found out I was Bentley's mate.
I could sense Bentley tensing beside me, trying to calm himself not to rip Elder Jon into pieces. He could sense his disrespect, and I could tell Alex was fighting with him for control. I squeezed our intertwined hands, trying to calm him. That seemed to work. He looked down at me and I can't help but want to grow a few inches taller.
Bentley's around six feet two tall, while I was only a mere five feet seven.
"The match would be against the fourth-in-command. As all of you know, Jack is one of the brainiest and has one of the best strategies to take any wolf down. In this case, take the human Luna down." He said 'Human Luna' with disgust. I could feel my anger rising. How dare he disrespect me!
Woah, where did this side of me come from?
Even I'm confused with myself.
Murmurs erupted between the crowd of approximately three hundred people. Somehow I could tell that not all the pack members are here. Some girls and even guys gave me the deadliest glare, so deadly that all their glares added up together could send me flying all the way to China instantly. Some pack members looked at me with adoration which I couldn't help but shoot a confused glance. I wasn't a goddess, I don't need adoration. All I want was their respect.
I even noticed a few girls looking at their nails and guys styling their hair, holding a mirror. It reminded me of one of the smurfs that cared about nothing but his beauty.
I calmed myself down but freaked out when I heard someone talking to me in my mind.
'You have Alpha blood running through your veins, the chosen one and mated to an Alpha. Don't worry.'
How can I not worry? I didn't know any fighting skills!
'Who are you?'
'Your inner voice, girl.' Oh. At least it isn't a wolf or some strange creature talking to me.
'Don't worry, my friend.' Oh God, will I ever get used to people talking to me in my mind? 'I will help you. I chose you to be their Luna, but people just don't see how worthy you are. They had defied me.' I could sense a hint of sadness in her voice.
'But what must I do now?'
'Find Sarah. She'll know what to do. I must go now, my time with you is up. I'll talk to you soon.' With that, she was gone and I was jolted back into reality.
"Radiance, are you alright? You zoned out for a while." I gave Bentley a tight smile and nodded.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I need to find Sarah though." I could tell that he was curious, but didn't question me any further.
"Okay. Be careful." I rolled my eyes. Did he seriously think I'm some weakling?
He does.
And I was more than determined to prove him wrong.

"I'm not too sure, Radiance. I'm not sure why Moon Goddess asked you to ask me, because I don't know myself." Sarah told me.
I nodded, feeling suspicious about the information I've received. Certainly Moon Goddess wouldn't lie to me.
But again, why would Sarah lie anyways? She doesn't have anything to gain.
'Shut the fuck up. Why am I stuck with you.'
'Shhh shut down inner voice.'
It was two o'clock when the announcement was out. Now it was half past two.
"Hey, Sarah? What's your gift?"
"Healing."
"How's you and Caden?" A smile tugged her lips.
"I'm pregnant." Wow um okay. That was random. Shock is an understatement.
"Oh err... Great to know!" I said nervously. How did asking about her and Caden turn into such a situation? "Does Caden know?"
Oh lord please have mercy on my freaking dumb brain. Obviously he kn-
"He doesn't." Okay, maybe my brain isn't that dumb after all.
'You're still dumb nevertheless.'
'Oh shut it inner voice.'
"You should tell him. He'll be elated." She frowned and her eyes watered. My eyes widened, what the hell?
"I-I'm s-scared that h-he doesn't w-want it." Pregnancy hormones, I guess?
"You mean so much to Caden. Of course he'll want the baby! He loves you." She looked at me straight in the eyes.
"Really?" She sniffed.
"Really."
"Okay." She wiped her tears away with the back of her hand and grinned. Oh sweet mother trucker please save me from her! "Your birthday's coming." Oh. Right.
"Wait, when's my birthday again?" Who forgets their own birthdays?!
'Sadly you, idiot.'
'Shh go away.'
"16 March."

Cheers erupted from the crowd surrounding the field. Bentley and Ethan were the judges.
"First one to pin the opponent down for three seconds win!" Some clapped and shouted my name, while some cheered on Jack.
"Ready to get pinned down in less than fifteen seconds, Luna?" He said mockingly and I scoff.
"Someone's ego a little too big. Don't worry, after this match I assure you it won't be as big anymore. I might even replace you." I winked at him and his smirk dropped.
"We don't know for sure who will win, so shut the fuck up."
I... growled? "Do not speak with me which such disrespect!" His eyes widened and I swear I saw fear in his eyes. After a few seconds he composed himself and smirked.
"Begin!" Bentley's voice boomed and the crowd's cheers slowly died. I felt anxiety bubbling inside of me when he was looking- no, observing me. For my weakness. I don't need to, because I already know where it hurts.
His crotch. That is, if he even have one. Eh I don't think so. There's an invisible unicorn stick stuck on his forehead.
Too deep in thought, I didn't see his fists coming. His punch drew some blood and there would be a bruise for sure. I fell to the grass, laying down there in hope that he would come and pin me down.
'Pay attention bitch!'
'Then don't distract me!'
He started walking towards me, smirking. "Who's the loser now?"
I mentally smirked. If only you knew what was coming. "Still you."
When he was in a close distance, I swung my legs out, making him fall backwards. I stood up quickly, stepping on his legs to add pressure. "Who's the loser now?" I imitated him and he laughed.
He he grinned, punching me in the gut that sent me flying a good six feet away from him and that hurt, like a lot.
Suddenly I felt a surge of energy flowing through my veins. I could've sworn I heard a few gasps. I couldn't see what happened. It was like I was engulfed into pitch black darkness.
'F*cking stay awake! Gosh!' I blinked a few times, heeding my inner voices advice.
'Why's my inner voice so mean?'
'I'm not mean, you're just too nice. Deal with it.'
'Freaking inner voice.' I could see the light again. Thank god.
Let the fun begin.
