Avery's POV

Ash grabbed my shoulders so I would face him.

"Avy, baby, you have to get  down to the shelter with everyone else." He said.

I shook my head. "No.

"What? Avy you have to go. I--" He trailed off. "I couldn't forgive my self if you got hurt."

"Ash, I can't keep running away from Logan. He has tortured me enough. I have to stop him." I pleaded.

"No, please Avery. You have to stay away from the fight."

He didn't call me Avy.

"Ash. I will--"

He looked at me with hope in his eyes that I would stay away.

"I'm sorry." I apologized. "But I'm fight along side my pack, our pack, I will not stay away when everyone I care about is in danger. This is my war."

I ran out of the house before he could respond.

As soon as I got outside I froze.

Many from both sides were already dead.

The grass was stained red and there were many unloving bodies on top of it.

I saw a bow and a quiver filled with arrows on the ground.

I threw the quiver over my back and held one arrow in my hand and the bow in my other.

I looked over and saw a wolf with red eyes coming towards me.

Rogue.

I pulled the string back after I placed the arrow on it. I aimed as best as I could and let the string go.

My hands were shaky but I was able to shoot the wolf in the eye.

"Avery!" A voice called out.

I looked over and saw Artemis.

"I see you found my bow and arrow." She chuckled.

"I'm sorry." I apologized.

"Don't be. Use it to protect yourself." She said.

"What about you?"

She snorted. "I may be old but I'm not rusty."

I let out small laugh until I saw a rogue running to us.

"Look out!" I warned Artemis. But it was to late.

The rogue leaped at us. Artemis grabbed me as we prepared for the impacted of the wolf.

But it never came.

I slowly opened my eyes and saw Logan killing the rogue.

"Now what did I say? Leave these two for me." He growled at the dead rogue on the ground.

He slowly turned around and smirked.

"Hello Avery, my daughter."

"I am not your daughter. You killed my parents! You used me!"

He nodded. "That's true I did. I knew that if I had an innocent child around Artemis  wouldn't even think about killing me."

"You coward!" Artemis sneered.

"A smart coward." He pointed out.

"That's still a coward." I intervined.

"Avery, Avery, Avery, I knew eventually you would lead me to Artemis. So I abused you. Hurt you. Slapped you. Just so you could finally run away from me. But no. You just had to be too damn appreciative of the roof over your head. So dragged your parents into you last beating." He smirked.

I glared.

"What?" He teased. "You think that  robbery near the house was a coincidence. No. I had two people make up the whole story so you finally leave."

He began laughing as I grew angry.

"What!" He yelled whole laughing. "It took 18 years but I finally found you Artemis! And now you're going to die!"

"You coward!" I yelled before shooting an arrow at him.

He caught the arrow in mid air before it hit his face.

"Fooled me once you won't fool me again!" He yelled before breaking the arrow in half.

Artemis began fighting him without any weapons.

I grabbed an arrow and pulled the string of the bow back.

I aimed carefully at Logan's head. It was hard considering he kept moving but I was able to aim it.

I was about to let go of the string until someone landed a punch to my face.

I fell to the ground holding my nose.

I got up and got ready to kill the person who hit me.

My eyes widened at the person standing about me.

Mandy.

She had tears in her eyes and her baby bump was gone.

"Mandy! What are you doing?" I asked as I got up from the ground.

"I'm so sorry Avery." She apologized before going to punch me again.

This time I dodged it.

"Mandy stop!" I yelled.

More tears streamed down her face as she kept trying to punch me.

I grabbed her fist in mid air and twisted her arm around.

"Mandy what's wrong with you?" I asked. "This isn't you! Where's your pup? Why did you stop me from killing Logan!?"

"He has my pup!" She screamed. "All I have to do to get her back is kill you!"

She managed to get out of my grip and she pinned me down to the ground.

"Mandy, Logan is lying to you! He's just using you to kill me."

"You don't know that!" She cried.

"Yes I do. He lied to me. He lied to  Artemis. He's lying to you to."

She didn't say anything. Only stared.

"Help me kill Logan and we save your pup." I said.

Her grip loosened slightly. I got out of her grip.

I grabbed the bow and an arrow from the ground and aimed it at Logan again.

He had Artemis pinned down to the ground.

"Come on Artemis. Give me one last kiss before I kill your pack." He inched his fave closer to Artemis.

She spit in his face.

Logan wiped his face. "Now that was rude."

He brought Artemis's face closer to his. But before he could put his fave any closer I realised the string.

My aim was off. I only managed to hit his shoulder.

He screamed out in pain and rolled off of Artemis.

Artemis pulled out the Arrow from his shoulder and pressed it against his chest.

Someone grabbed me and tore my gaze away from the soon to be bloody sight.

I felt silimiar tingles. Ash held me tight as we waited for Logan's screams to silence.

Soon there was nothing. The only sound in the air was, well, the air.

I slowly released myself from Ash's grip and took a look around.

Logan's rogues were all wiped out and everyone was relieved that it was now over.

I looked over and saw Mandy was sitting on the grass crying silently.

I crouched down next to her and placed a hand on her shoulder.

She looked at me with regret. "I'm so sorry Avery. I got so scared. Logan saved me from the council after my pup was born."

"It's ok, Mandy. We'll  find your pup. I promise." I pulled her into a hug.

After I pulled away I turned to face Ash.

He grabbed me by the waist and pulled me into a passionate kiss.

"You are so stubborn." He mumbled against my lips.

"That's what you say to me after you disappear." I raised an eye brow.

"I was killing rogues I don't know what you were doing." He chuckled.

I was about to respond until I began to feel light headed.

Black dots began blocking my vision. I felt dizzy and had trouble keeping my balance.

What's happening?

Was the last thought I had before blacking out.
