Avery's POV

He pulled away from the hug and looked at me in shock.

"What!? No!" He said.

I pouted. "Why not?"

"Because he hasn't learned to control himself around you yet."

"So? He'll meet me as an over grown chihuahua." I muttered

"Did you just call us an over grown dog?" He asked.

"A chihuahua to be exact." I pointed out.

He glared at me.

"Come on." I pleaded.

"No, is my final answer." I said but his words were strained and forced out.

"Your fighting with him!"

"No... I'm not."

"Yes you are. For control?" I asked.

"Fine! You want me to shift."

His bones started to crack as he got on all fours. Familiar gray fur started to sprout all over his body. His ears and tail appeared. His torn clothes dropped to the floor.

He was a wolf now. He was growling but it quickly faded as his eyes landed on me.

His tail started wagging back and forth and his ears perked up.

I kneeled down nest to him and ran my fingers through his fur.

"You're not as scary as you are when you're chasing people." I laughed to myself.

He licked my face and gave me a wolf like smile.

I whipped my cheek with my sleeve and groaned. "Ew! Gross. It like you have a water park in your mouth."

He tilted his head and growled playfully.

I chuckled at his reaction and kissed his head. "You're just adorable."

He rolled his eyes.

I laughed at him again.

His bones began cracking again. I stood up and stepped back as he began changing back into a human.

Ash soon speared in front one again. Naked Ash! Again!

I let out a yelp and turned around, hiding my red face with my hands.

I heard rustling behind me. I assumed Ash was getting some clothes.

"You can look now."

I could practically hear a smirk on his face.

I slowly turned around and was faced win a smirking Ash.

He had a pair of jeans on that hung loosely on his hips but no shirt.

The heat in my cheeks returned. I kept my eyes trained on his face.

"Why are you a tomato?" He asked.

"N-no reason." I stuttered over my words.

His smirk grew wider.

"Shut up!" I groaned.

He chuckled. "You don't need to be embarrassed. I'm all yours."

His hands went around my waist as my cheeks grew redder.

"It's cute when you blush."

"Shut up."

He chuckled again.

"Just put a shirt on."

He kissed my cheek and went to his closet and pulled out and black T-shirt.

"So.... how does this mate thing work?" I finally asked.

He looked down at the floor then back at me.

"I think we should ask my parents about that. I'm new to this too." He said sheepishly.

I noticed his cheeks were tinted with a light color.

He was embarrassed by this?

"You cute."

He glared at me and scrunched his face in disgust. "Don't call me cute."

"But your embarrassed and it's cute."

"I'm not cute. I'm anything but cute."

"OK so you're not cute but you are adorable."

"No. I'm not."

"Yes, you are."

He pinned me up against the wall and pinned my wrist above my head.

"You want to test me Avy?" He said lowly.

His face was inches away from mine.

"W-well... um... I." I couldn't get the right words out.

Why was I so nervous!?

He smirked. "What's the matter? A little nervous?"

I was about to respond but banging on the door stopped me and the nob started to rattle.

"Ash! James! Whoever is in control! Leave Avery alone!" I heard Artemis's voice from the other side of the door.

"Come on, Ash! Control your hormones!" Melissa's voice appeared.

"Go away!" Ash yelled back.

An idea popped into my head. A smirk speared on my face.

"Help!" I yelled. "He won't let me go!"

Ash's head snapped to me as he glared.

The door bursted open revealing Artemis and Melissa.

"Mom did you just kick down my door!?" Ash let me go and stared at his mother in shock.

She smirked back at him and grabbed my wrist.

"Give her back." Ash whined.

"She's not an object." Melissa pointed out.

Ash rolled his eyes at her and grabbed my wrist and pulled me back to him.

"Mine!" He yelled.

"Oh so now you want her." Melissa pulled me towards her. "Go find one of your hoes and leave her alone."

"I'm perfectly capable of standing up for myself." I said softly.

"I know but when it comes to Ash, he can't control himself no matter what you say."

"Please give her back. I need to explain the mate thing to her." Ash pleaded.

"Do my ears deceive me? Did Ash just say please?" Artemis teased.

Ash rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Give her back."

"Nope." Artemis popped the 'p' and dragged me out of the room.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"We are going to explain everything to you." Melissa explained as we exited the house.

"And we can't do that here?" I asked.

"Don't worry sweetie." Artemis assured. "We'll be back but right now we are going somewhere Ash can't find us."

He hoped into one of the cars in the drive way. Artemis hoped in the drivers seat.

Me and Melissa where in the back seat. Once we where all buckled up Artemis started to drive in the woods.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"My old house." Artemis answered.

"What?" I asked confused.

"The house I lived in when I met Ash's father. I was a huntress in the past. For werewolves." She explained.

"That's a thing?" I asked.

She rolled her eyes. "Yes it's a thing."

We were soon faced with a house in a clearing. It was smaller than Ash's house but still big.

It looked a bit old and run down but still in good enough condition.

Artemis parked the car in the drive way.

"Let's go inside." Melissa nudged me.

I unbuckled my seat belt and climbed out if the car.

Artemis pulled out key that was underneath some dirt from a planter next to the door.

We walked in. The house was freezing cold. I wrapped my arms around myself for warmth.

Artemis lead us into the living room. We sat on some dusty couches.

"So are you ready to understand everything?" Melissa asked.

I shook my head. "There's something I have to tell you guys first."

"What is it?" Artemis asked.

"I have been lying to you guys."

They loomed at me in shock.

"What do you mean?" Melissa asked.

"Well let's just say, it's started when I was three years old."

Ooh!! She's finally going to tell them!!!!!

I was planning on updating yesterday but a bunch of drama happened and I had finals this week.

I got so stressed out and tired weird blue lines appeared hinder my eyes until I got some sleep.

I've got a week off of school so I'm going to try to update as much as I can.
