Up in the trees I held my sniper instance to eradicate this forest nymph who has been enticing people into their demises. I check my watch its already 5:48 pm I humm the song my mum used to hum to me, it helps me keep calm

I flew here because father informed me of alarming news about a town where people have been recently missing without a trace, with the help of our scouts we learned that the creature responsible is a forest nymph.

Nymphs are dangerous creatures who crave human flesh and like to lure people by their beauty a beauty that entraps its victim to its mercy and its main weapon is its glass breaking shriek that causes a temporary hearing loss and causes confusion, disoriented and head cracking migraines, and let us not forget its sharp serrated claws that are strong enough to cut you in haft. Its weakness is a shot to the nape or heart.

I blew a puff of air admiring the sunset on the horizon, when was the last time I took a vacation I smiled at the thought, my eyes shifted.

As the bushes shuffle revealing a young beautiful woman with a radiating glow when hit by sunlight but I'm not falling for that trick, she approached the crashed vehicle hearing my prerecorded cry for help.

"Are you hurt!" she shouted smiling stalking the car baring her devilish-looking fangs, fool! She is falling into my trap

I shuffle a little bit aiming for a headshot as she opened the door she screeches loudly, as the motion detector gun triggered she tried to jump out of its trajectory but failed miserably because she flew right where I want her to, I pulled the trigger that shot directly her head blasting her brains off that looks like a pile of dark bluish and green gew.

My phone ranged " is it done?" My father ask.

"Yes, sir it seemed that this, "I notice the nymphs lightly swollen belly this is not a good sign "sir it seems we have a situation" I pointed hanging up and drew my gun. That's when I realized many people gone, swollen tummy, that means it has an offspring.

I hear hissing I cautiously look at the motion detector I've planted in the vicinity.

I've got you I turn to my six to see a young boy crying, my heartstrings never cease to be pulled as I called out for it to come to me.

"Hey baby c' mere im not gonna hurt cha" I cooed my hunting knife safety hidden into my back.

He waddles cautiously and when I reach for him hissed and changed form looking like an undead child roots growing out of his hair im still fascinated by these creatures he backs away.

" come on im gonna bring you home with me if you wanted" I encourage him he changed form into a young boy again I think he's only 3 to 4 years old.

He runs into my arms and inhaled my scent. He growled and bit my neck I smiled didn't see that coming huh...luckily my neck is covered by a thick leather coat. Even a toddler is dangerous like my father said no matter what it looks like it's still a monster.

He pulled out his teeth that looks like sand tiger sharks teeth.

"No biting little one" I murmured and pulled it once more to a hug "im sorry" I whispered and shot a dart his neck I felt pity taking its mother from a mere child but it had to be done before it could inflict more danger in the future.

"Now, it is done" I announced calling a team that will take the child nymph and put him in a special foster or rehabilitate him.

emptying the fuel " I'm reporting back to base " ending the call and throw the match into the bodies that lit up quickly I think nymphs blood is highly flammable.

my name is Coleen Zeref Collin sounds feminine right but I was named after my mom because I resemble her so much that when we stand we look like identical twins with age gaps, im 24 and graduated with a degree in medicine so I'm a doctor soon when I pass the exams and my side job now is a hunter I hunt mythical creatures that cause disturbance and are a danger to humanity.

I trailed back to my truck when I meet the huge gates of the compound my eyes immediately saw my father's minion standing in line. They look like men in black but more muscular

I gracefully left my vehicle and approach them, "what a pleasant surprise my good sirs to have visitors "I chirp trying to humor but failed to crack a laugh from them.

We can't be all comedian... I sigh and look at them putting my hand on my hip

One step forward " Mr. Collins requests your presence at once," he said I simply nodded.

I step into the black van this van should have a different color it's suspicious I smiled at the thought.

We arrived at an expensive restaurant fathers minion escorted me to the table where my father is next to a man.

"Yes father, what ill news do we have that you have to request my presence at once," I said taking a seat in front of them.

He gestured to his right

" Meet Mr. Ireno his head of national security and want help because your expertise is indeed superb to do a recon mission about the growing attacks of wolves in the north," he said

"Its a pleasure meeting you Mr. Ireno," I said taking his hand

He smiled "no the pleasure is all mine to have you in this mission, and I've heard you just finished your mission in the west state about the cases of missing people," he said smiling

I returned with a smirk

"When will we start "I inquired

"Next week, you will be escorted by my men"

I dined with my father after Mr. Ireno left, the chaffer came with our car and let our driver drive us while I am beside my father my eyes wander to his physique, thinking when will i grow a body like him as i am like a twig beside him.

I notice my father looking at me with his dark grey eyes.

"Son I'm sorry for not giving you a normal childhood and also a normal life like your mother requested before..before she passed," he muttered his voice is laced with guilt.

My thought went back to dad hearing him I held his hand and look at him.

" No dad... would liked the idea of a normal life but I love my job and the adrenaline rush when I'm on a mission and without this job, I would be in more danger not knowing what outside our doors, I love you dad and thank you for the opportunity to be in this field of work" I replied and hug him.

"You always remind me of your mother Always so brave and beautiful and also crave the thrill of the mission" he trailed, patting my head and chuckled.

"Really," I replied as his eyes glitter with joy and admiration reminiscing my mother,  I can't help but puff my chest out, years didn't let his handsome face fade he still has that charm that everyone woman even man wants a piece of him.

"Yes, sport" he coed I couldn't help but laugh softly hearing my nickname he uses when I was a toddler.

We drove home and I felt my eyes drop and darkness take over. Hearing dads last words " rest now you have a long day ahead of you"
