Chapter 34- Crook in his Smile
Chapter 34
Crook in his Smile
Teagan
*
Wow. These couple of months have been weird. Hell; if I'm correct. But I'm hoping for tonight to end this. I realize that we have to come clean about what Luke and I are. This way, Carrie won't be Alpha Female, our parents..well..Luke's dad will know, and I might be able to actually have a relationship with Luke.
I hope.
Right now it was three hours 'till the dance. Yeah..I'm counting down. Lucy, Quincy, Emma, and Darla and I were putting on our dresses and getting our makeup done. I couldn't help but think about Emma's warning about Ty. I still don't know what she means, but I'm going to take her warning to heart. I trust her. I just hope..
No. Never. I shook those kind of thoughts from my head and continued fixing my dress. Lucy and Quincy were already doing their makeup. Darla and Emma were putting on their dresses. Lucy was a master at makeup and hair, so she was doing all of ours as well as her own. She was amazing. I told her she should be a beautician but she said her parents wouldn't approve, making me grimace.
"Teagan, you ready?" Lucy asked me, tweezers in hand. My eyes widened, while she smirked evilly. Oh dear..

"Hold still, god dammit!" Lucy said to me, scowling. I rolled my closed eyes as she put on my eye shadow. It has been god knows how long since Lucy started on my makeup and hair, yet she still wasn't done.
I lost track at mascara as she kept doing more and more things. The other girls were laughing at me and I kept twitching my eye to just piss her off. It was working...a little too much. I wasn't allowed to open my eyes until I was done, so I had to have a blindfold on. Finally, she was done and I was allowed to look.
When I did, I was amazed. Not to sound conceited, but I know I'm pretty. Not absolutely gorgeous, but I was pretty and had a great figure. I worked for it too. Though, I never really wore makeup other then eyeliner and mascara. I never thought about eye shadow and blush and all that other stuff.
So when my eyes settled on a sparkling brown-eyed girl with a clean complexion, luscious pink lips, and soft brown hair that looked shiny in the light, I was speechless.
She didn't look like me..she looked..so sweet, so naive, yet so beautiful. I was looking in the same mirror I was right before the last party, but in that reflection, I felt ashamed. But not now. Right now, I felt proud and gorgeous...so new. I felt a glow around me, something that said, 'You can't bring me down, bitch.'
I took a shaky breath while the other girls gasped at my appearance.
"Teagan, you look..stunning!" Darla gushed to me and the girls nodded in agreement, who still had their mouths agape.
"Luke..err..I mean Ty, is going to drop down to his knees and say to you, 'I'm not worthy!" We all laughed.
I smiled at them and hugged Lucy, whispering in her ear, tearing up. "Thank you.."
"My pleasure." She smiled back.

"Let me take pictures, Teagan Lauren Landers!" My mom scolded, turning on her camera. Me on the other hand, was trying to practically run out of the house as fast as I could, friends in tow. But nope, my mother decides to embarrass me and come out with a camera. She and my brothers were just as shocked as my friends about my new appearance. My mom even started to tear up. I think she was worried about me after what happened. The rape, Luke, everything.
My brothers even hugged me and told me how beautiful I was. I saw Nate sneaking glances at Emma every now and again. She was doing the same. I took a mental note to remember to plot to get them together.
My brothers were going to the dance with a friend and their dates. Percy and Nate just chose some random girls, but he was meeting them at the dance, like we were meeting our dates there too, because we wanted to leave on our own time. Percy and Nate left before mom's camera came out, so they were safe.
Lucky bastards..
Lucy's parents rented us girls a nice limo to go to and from the dance. It was so cool. I had never been in a limo before but the rest of the girls had.
"Fine." I huffed at her, while she went flashing away. My friends posed and smiled, while I half-scowled at them.
"Teagan, smile.." My mom warned in her motherly voice. I sighed and did as I was told. I put on a fake smile and posed with my friends. After about a thousand pictures, my mom finally let us go. Mom gave me a kiss goodbye and said by to my friends.
As we were getting into the limo, Quincy turned to me and said, "Your lucky you have a mom that cares.." Then went inside the limo. I turned back around and saw my mom looking through the window. She spotter me looking and blew me a kiss. I did the same back, thinking about dad and how he should have been here...
"Teagan! Come on!" Lucy squealed excitingly. I chuckled and got in the limo with one last glance at my mom. The sun hadn't started to go down yet, so it was still pretty light out. We were leaving at 5:30 and the dance starts at 6:00, so we were doing good on time.
On the whole car ride there, all we talked about was how the dance was supposed to be amazing and I quote, "Out of this world!". I don't know about th last statement but I was hoping it would be. My mind then wondered to Luke and who he brought as a date.
Probably some skank. Ok, that's a little biased of me, but hey, Luke was never good at picking them. Not including me.
After talks about who was going with who, what dress some person was wearing and how the punch will be spiked already, we were at the school.
Luckily, our gym was really big and could hold a big dance and we didn't have to pay for another place. I looked at the gym, well the outside of it, and it was covered with streamers and a really nicely decorated banner with the words, 'Masquerade Dance' written on it in glitter.
The girls, even Quincy, giggled with excitement and put on their masks. Then they were out the door as soon as the limo stopped. I waited a second, trying not to freak out. Everyone was looking at the limo in awe and envy. I finally gathered my thoughts and took a deep breath. You can do it Teagan. I told myself.
I gathered up my courage, put on my mask and gracefully got out of the limo. People stared at me, probably not reconizing me. I blushed slightly and started walking towards the entrance. The ticket check check my ticket and allowed me inside.
As soon as I got inside, I instantly looked for Lucas. He was no where in sight. I sighed in disappointment and went over to the punch bowl. Suddenly, hands covered my eyes and my heart started beating a mile a minute. Then a guys voice, a voice I didn't remember, said,
"Guess who?" I racked my brain trying to remember who it was, but no one came, so I went with a plan that never fails.
"I don't know..who?" I said in a seductive voice. It always works. The guy turned me around and I was faced with Ty. He had his mask on, but I knew it was him. Though, there was something off about him. He had a glint in his eye, a crook in his smile. He looked..I don't know..different. Darker, somehow.
Emma's warning echoed in my head. Ty was smiling at me, well, smirking actually. I smiled, half-hearted, back. Then I spotted a a flash of blonde and Carrie was right in front of me.
Her blonde hair was in a fancy up-do and she had a blue mask and dress on, but I knew it was her. She looked great, but the bitch part just made her seem too ugly. I don't know why she was here, but I knew it couldn't be out of the goodness of her black heart.
"Hey Teagan..Hello, Ty." She said Ty's name like she and Ty shared a private joke. I looked at Ty and he also had a smirk. Ok, this was getting very creepy. Ty's arm was around my waist so I unwound myself from him and said, "Excuse me for a second."
Then I escaped. I took a deep breath, wondering what was up. I may not be the brightest of the bunch, but I knew Carrie and I knew how she schemed. Right now, Emma's warning looked really scary.
It sounds dumb because I'm a werewolf and he's human but that counts for nothing. I took a vow not to hurt humans.
I started wandering around the gym, not caring where I was going. I was just trying to clear my head about Ty, but I couldn't. It was like an alarm was going off in my head, warning me about Ty.
I weaved through dancing bodies, trying to get squashed. The song 'Like it's her Birthday' by Good Charlotte came on and people started to grind together and yelled the words. I silently sang along. I loved that song.
To me it doesn't make sense, but I think it's about a guy who has a girlfriend that isn't normally crazy so when she does go out, he is saying she is partying like it's her birthday. I'm not sure, but I like the song and it's a good sing along song.
As I was still walking through the gym, trying to keep my head down and not be noticed. After about five steps of looking down, I run straight into someone..
It was a guy. We both fall to the ground, but no one notices. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" I stuttered, trying to dust him off and help him up. Our masks have fallen off so when I looked up, I found myself staring into those beautiful baby-blue eyes that I adore so much.
"Oh..hey Luke.." He just stands there, staring at me, with something in his eyes. I wasn't sure, but I hoped it was good. I decided it was now or never.
At the same time, as if we rehearsed it, we said,
"We need to talk."
