Chapter 31- A Flower and a Tune
Chapter 31
A Flower and a Tune
Teagan

She talking to me. Wait..no. Down to me. She was talking down to me. Not in just a literal sense, but in the simile sense too. She had wicked sharp teeth, like me, but somehow in her small whore brain, she thought to step on my mouth so I could howl or bite her back. Damn.
You have always thought you were superior..like you were Alpha! Not me. I'm going to be the next Alpha Female. Just watch, you skank. Whether he's your mate or not, he is mine. She growled at me in my mind. Thankfully, she decided to be the usual Carrie and insult me while she is slowly cutting off my air supply.
You will never be Alpha Female. They aren't whores like you. I hissed back at at but she was adding more pressure to neck under her grimy paws. Damn, she is strong, but I'm isn't going down without a fight. Luckily, she didn't seem like killing me just yet. But what I said pissed her off even more and started to add more and more pressure to my neck. I could barely breathe. Black spots danced in my eyes and I felt myself getting weaker.
I hope Luke got my message and realized it wasn't his inner voice. I mean, come on! He shouldn't be taking this long!
As if on cue, a brown wolf sped out of the trees like a bullet, slamming into Carrie a Red wood trunk, making it shake because of her impact, but doesn't knock her out. She looks shocked but goes back to growling. Looks like she didn't know what Luke's wolf looks like. I was able to catch my breath during this distraction. The spots disappeared and I could breathe regularly again. Yay to wolf healing, but I was still pretty weak.
Luke looked over to, as if making sure I was ok. I nodded and gave him a weak smile. He gave me a wolfy grin then went back to growling at Carrie who was circling us. Luke backed up so we were side by side.
Thanks. I said to him through my mind. He still looked pretty confused but said back.
My pleasure...mate. He winked at me, making me snort in laughter.
Mate? Really? Couldn't resist, could ya? I asked him, snickering as he rolled blue eyes, but this was just the distraction Carrie needed and she tackled him to the ground. I instantly went rigid with anger. Oh, hell no. Luke wasn't really fighting back because of rules. Rules that said we cannot attack another wolf in our pack, even though they attacked first. The only time we can if the Alpha approves or something. I'm not sure. I blanked out as my mom told me this. I hated the rule because it seemed like a death wish for any wolf and I still think that now. If Carrie doesn't back down, I'm going to break this rule..and make her pay.
I watched as Luke kept parrying her bites or scratches. He was doing good. But she looked like she was on a mission and Luke was tiring, she wasn't. Anger was fueling her every move and anger really doesn't just tire out. I wanted to go in and kick her wolfy ass but I couldn't unless I got little bit of my strength back.
Finally, Luke couldn't dodge one of Carrie's bites and got hit in shoulder. He fell to the ground, tired and wounded. Carrie was about to lunge on him, but I had other plans. I came from behind her, quietly and quickly as possible, then bit her on the bum. Ew.
She howled in pain and probably rage. I gave her a triumphant smirk. She had a crazed look in her also blue eyes and anger was present too. Somehow, we started to circle each other, waiting for someone to make the first move.
From what I learned on Star Wars, was that you must let them strike first. Luke was able to limp out of the way and was watching us with wary eyes. I felt him trying to get in my mind, telling me not to do anything stupid, but I blocked my mind and focused on Carrie only.
My werewolf senses were heightened, so I could see every little detail and sound in the forest. My mind calculated Carrie's every move. The way her nose twitched in anger, how her paws were squishing the dry, yet damp ground from an earlier rain, with pressure. I heard thunder in the distance. Oh goody, a thunderstorm.
I looked around and it was turning to dusk. The sun was almost down and the night creatures were coming out. Creatures like us..
I think by now the pack would have noticed the Alpha's son, the Beta's(A/N: I don't know if I said who was older, but it's Nate, Teagan, then Percy is the youngest, which means, Nate is Beta unless he steps down to Teagan)sister, and a whore, were all missing. And if they didn't, that was fine with me. I could take her.
She noticed the same thing I did and looked a little nervous. Why?
I heard Luke bark at me and I knew he had something to say. I brought down my mind barrier.
What?! I asked him, annoyed.
She's afraid of thunderstorms! He yelled back. Afraid of thunderstorms...Hmm...
Thanks! I said then put the barrier back up. He growled behind me as I circled so I was in front of him. I ignored him, trying to think of a plan. I could use this to my advantage, but I have to find out how..
Another crack of thunder. Carrie flinched but kept her eyes on me. No lightning..at least, not where I can see. Luke looked at me, pleading that I would just give up.
Hell no.
Oh screw Star Wars. Another boom of thunder sounded, this one louder than the ones previous to it. Carrie actually took her eyes off me for a second to look at the sky with fright.
Perfect.
I lunged at her. She turned back to me with wide eyes and tried to protect herself but no such luck. She was too slow. Luke yelped, probably thinking I'm going to kill her. Nope, I wasn't gonna kill her and risk getting in big trouble and having her blood on my hands. She wasn't worth it.
Instead of going for her neck to kill, I went for her front paws. I bit the left leg, with power, and she fell to the ground. Attack to weaken, not kill. I remembered my dad telling me that one day. I was asking him about wolf fights and ask him if he had killed any wolfs.
Dad told me that he only killed really bad wolves. But mostly, to weaken them then take them down and give them a chance to live or die. If they attacked you, kill them. If they want to live, let them go.
She howled in pain and I put my paw to her mouth like she did to me, expect I let her breathe and I did it with less anger. Sure, there was some anger, but mostly, defence. She attacked my mate and first me, now she must be taught a lesson.
Anger is never a good fighting companion. Brains and patience. That is what my dad always told me.
She struggled and I knew I had to let her go to get another strong point. I let her go and she immediately went to attack me with her sharp teeth, but that is what I was expecting. I leaped over her, which surprised her and then I bit her back right leg, hard. Again, she howled in pain and once, again fell to ground, but I knew she wouldn't get up. One of her front legs and one of her back legs were both damaged pretty badly, that they will probably be broken in human form. She won't have any strength to get up and attack again unless she wants her leg or arm to damaged forever. She looked at me with hatred in her eyes then passed out, cold.
As I walked over to the, also wounded, Luke, I never turned my back to her..not once. That's a fighters first mistake. Turning their backs on the oppenent even though they know they are out cold.
Luke looked stunned and in awe. Ok, I should say that girls don't really, or aren't actually allowed to, fight. This was really my first real fight that wasn't my brothers. They taught me secretly because of my dad's wishes before he died. He said they will come in handy someday.
And he was right. They pracitally saved my ass and Luke's. That's a reason why Carrie lost. She was inexperienced and impulsive.
Marry me. He stated to me in my mind. I chuckled wolfly and winked at him. I knew he was joking, but my heart rate started to speed up..a lot.
Come on, loverboy. Let's go back home. People are probably way to ahead of us to catch up. I nudged him with my shoulder. He smiled at me, but it looked strained then I remember he was wounded.
Oh my god! I'm so sorry! I shouted in my mind to him, worried I hurt him a lot
It's ok. It's my other shoulder. Luckily, it didn't draw blood. He got up, with a slight wince, but got up none the less. I blew a sigh of relief. Thank god..
Shift back? I asked him. He cocked his head to the side.
I don't have clothes. He stated as if obvious. I rolled my eyes and nodded my head to a tree that had clothes, male and female clothes, on a lower branch. He looked over to me, questioning, but I shrugged and walked over to get my clothes and his.
I threw the guy clothes to him. They landed at his paws and then he picked them up in his mouth like I had mine and ran behind a tree to change.
I did the same and five minutes we were both humans, fully clothed. Carrie was still knocked out, thankfully. Luke looked devilishly sexy with his rugged, messed up hair appearance. He had on skinny jeans and a nice T-shirt, but no shoes, like me. I was wearing grey sweatpants and an off-the-shoulder shirt. Thankfully, I put my undergarments there too, so I was ok.
"So..I'm guessing she is going to have a headache and deep burning hatred for you in the morning?" He asked, pointing to the passed out wolf. I rolled my eyes.
"Ya, nothing new, you know?" I said with a smirk. It was his turn to roll his eyes. Luke looked down at his clothes and back to me with a raised eyebrow.
"My brothers. We store a bunch of clothes in almost every tree, just in case." I explained with a shrug. Lucas looked amused, but nodded. Then he turned serious. I tried to read his mind, but he must of blocked me..like blocked call.
"Wanna take a walk?" He asked, holding out his hand for me to take. I hesitated. Why did he want to take a walk? After a second, I took his hand.
He intertwined our fingers--which fit perfectly, if I might add--and pulled me along after him. I didn'trecognize the path we were going down, but I didn't mind or care. All I could really care about was the tingling that was going up and down my arm and into my already fast beating heart. I swore I would have a heart attack.
We didn't speak. I could only hear the howls of our pack, the chitter of forest animals, the rusting of leaves, and the occasional thunder. It was dark, but we knew where we were going because our werewolf eyesight let us see in the dark.
Finally, the path came to an end and entered into a giant clearing. I gasped. It was the same clearing from earlier with the girls and where Luke saw me, and I saw him, in wolf form.
But that was daylight. This was full on night. Fireflies lit up the small pond and all the other places in the clearing. I could hear the croaking of frogs and the chatter of crickets. The grass still soggy under mybare feet. No clothes were around like I expected from the girls. I guess they hid them. The moon was in a crescent form but it seemed to glow brighter than all the stars, which were in millions, all spread about the night sky.
I swear to God, if we had some music and singer animals, this would be a Disney animated movie. Luke smiled at my reaction. I'm guessing he has been here at night because he didn't seem fazed.
Luke let go of my hand and walked over to a beautiful patch of Azaleas that were in full bloom even though it was winter. I picked a gorgeous purple one, walked over to me and put it in my long brown hair.
"Every picked flower must have a beautiful host." He said as he leaned in closer to me. Luke's voice was husky and uneven. My breathing hitched and my heart was on over-drive, again. Instead of kissing me like I expected him to, he grabbed my hand and spun me then pulled me right against him, my hand still locked with his.
I figured out what he was doing and followed his lead. I put hand on his shoulder and he put his around my waist. We swayed with each other, dancing..sort of. We had no music, but I just pictured the song 'Kiss the Girl' and I was just fine.
We just stood there pressed together, dancing horridly to no music. But it couldn't be more perfect. No distractions, no Carrie, no life to interfere. Just perfect.
I put my head in the crook of his neck, smelling his intoxicating smell and kept slow dancing. But I remembered something. I pulled my head out and looked up at his beautiful blue eyes.
"What did you want to talk about?" I asked him. He sighed and smiled. He leaned down and lightly kissed me on the lips, which still sent tingles through my body like always.
"Later. Not yet, sweets. Not yet.." He said against my lips still. Then he pulled away and put his chin on the top of my head, since he was so tall. I was baffled for a second and was about to bring it up, but decided that I had tomorrow to corner him and make sure he tells me. So I just let it go and went back to my previous position.
So we danced together. Me, humming the tune to 'Kiss the Girl' and Luke chuckling at my weirdness.
Just how I like it.

Awe. Too sweet! I wanted to do a sweet chapter just for them because I felt like this was getting too dramatic and stuff instead of it being a romance. (: I think it was a cute moment. What about you? I felt that Luke needed to really make it up to her, but not actually tell her he was. So what do you think Luke was going to tell her? Do you think Carrie got what she deserved? Too easy? Too harsh?
Song at the Right: Self. Explanitory. >>>>
