Chapter 2: Mark
"This is why you should've worn a heavier jacket today," Eden nags at me. I sigh, burying deeper into my covers.
"Get out of my room," I moan, rolling over. I had in fact caught a cold this morning from standing out in the frigid temperature.
"If you need me, just holler." The door shuts behind her.
A coughs rips through my chest. I stare miserably at the wall. My eyelids feeling very heavy. I can trust Eden to send out a patrol to secure our borders, making sure that DarkMoon pack hasn't tried to take it over. I let my eyes slowly close, letting not thoughts drift away.

A knock on my bedroom door wakes me up. I moan, groggily rubbing my eye.
"Come in." The door opens. Dan's head pops in.
"Hey Mark, Jack is here to see you. He said something about some 'important' business he needed to discuss with you."
I sit up, still rubbing my eye. I mutter under my breath. Of course, the day that I feel like crap is when my enemy decides to claim to have something important.
"Send him up with Eden," Dan nods and disappears. A few seconds later, Eden enters the room followed by Jack.
His eyes flash green in warning as he looks at me. It wasn't his fault that his eyes flash every time they saw me. It was his inner wolf, the inner alpha in him flashing another alpha, me, a warning. A don't mess with me warning.
I sneeze. "Wait outside the door Eden, please." She hesitates then nods, closing the door as she leaves. I turn my attention to Jack who stared at me. "You have some nerve to be stepping foot in my territory."
"Listen, I didn't come here to start a fight with you," Jack growls. I watch his blue eyes as more green flecks start to appear in them.
"What do you want." It was more of a statement than a question. Jack sighs, running his hand through his hair.
"I was just curious if you had seen Cal by happen chance." I frown.
"Why would I have seen one of your pack mates?" I cough, curling deeper into my blankets.
"Well, legend has it that you're a murder considering you're one of the descendants of Night." I growl, my eyes flashing.
"You really think, just because of some stupid legend, that I would've murdered your pack mate?!" His eyes start to flash too.
"Well you guys despise us!"
"Yea well maybe if you guys were complete fucking assholes to my pack then maybe I would've decided to be nice." I retort. He growls walking towards me slowly.
"Why you little-" he yelps. We both glance quickly over to the door. Eden was standing there, one iris golden the other still blue. "What the hell?" He asks in disbelief.
"Between you and me, I wouldn't try to hurt Mark. It wouldn't end so pretty for you." I glare at her.
"I could've taken him!" She smirks.
"Please, in your sick state?" She turns her attention back towards Jack, who has slight fear in his eyes.
"How... Never mind," he mutters.
"Eden, please show him the way out. I'm done with this conversation."
"Please, Mark. If you see Cal, I'll I ask is that you let me know."
"Begging another alpha won't help you find your pack mate," Eden says, dragging him out of the room.
"Get your filthy hands off of me!" I heard Jack scream.
"You were moving too slow!" Eden replies as I heard chuckling. My pack must be laughing at him.
Good. I smile. It's about time he gets what he deserves.
======
Two days and fifty three disgusting cough medicines later, my cold was finally gone. I inhale happily, turning the water off.
I wipe my face dry with a towel. It's been two days since I had last heard from Jack. Even his pack haven't uttered a single word to bus when we get on the bus. I took that as a sign of victory.
I was in math class right now with Mr. Quinn. I took notes, trying not to notice how Jack, who was assigned to seat next to me, keeps shooting glances my way.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer." I mutter. He rolls his eyes.
"I wasn't staring at you idiot, I am looking at the clock. Besides, no matter what you believe, I don't want your ugliness to rub off on me."
As much as I really hate Jack, his words hurt me more than anyone else's in his pack. Maybe because it was an alpha thing. Or maybe. My eyes widen as the bell rings for us to go to our next class. My hand flies over my mouth as heat starts rising up to my face.
Am I in love with my enemy?
