Chapter 7- Jeremy
(Chapter 7- Jeremy)
I hit ignore for the sixth time on my phone since we left this morning. Tyler obviously wasn’t getting the message that I didn’t want to talk to him right now. I was still way to upset about last night to say anything to him. Yes I know it wasn’t entirely his fault and was partly mine to but that didn’t make it any better.
Again my phone rang making the seventh time he has called me today. God just give up already! I want to be left alone. I wish I could scream that at my phone but then I would have some explaining to do to my parents and that was defiantly not a conversation I felt like having with them.
Dad put on his signal and pulled into what looked like a newly built gas station on the side of the road. I don’t who puts a nice gas station like this out here in the middle of nowhere but oh well.
“Just stopping for some gas and to stretch our legs, don’t wonder off to far though because we are leaving in exactly ten minutes.” Dad warned.
“I won’t.” I said.
Dad pulled up to one of the pumps and got out to get some gas while mom went into the service station leaving alone. I decided to take dads advice and walk around a little bit since we had been driving for a solid three hours and still had an hour to go.
I opened the back door and got out when my phone buzzed again. This time it wasn’t a call, it was a text. I groaned before making the decision to read it.
Tyler: Why the hell don’t you answer your phone? If you don’t call me back I’m send the pack out looking for you.
“Ugh.” I screamed. “I don’t want to talk to you.”
I looked up from my phone long enough to see and elderly couple looking at me disapprovingly. Well if they had a problem with it then they could leave. I had more important thing to focus on then what they thought. Like Tyler coming after me for example. Now I guess I have to call him.
Just breathe Kiela, you can get through this. My finger lingered over top of the call button for a little bit before I got the courage enough to call. I took in a deep slow breath before hitting the button.
Within two rings Tyler picked up the phone?
“What the hell Kiela.” He screamed through the phone. “Why did you just run off like that?”
I flinched at the sound of his screaming, he had never done that to me before. I guess he was really mad now. I’m glad I’m three hours away from him.
“I had to leave with my parents.” I defended. “I left you a note.”
“That’s my point. You shouldn’t have left me a note; you should have woken me up. I would have gone with you.” He roared.
“Tyler calm down ok. I just need to be with my family right now. I’m having a hard enough time dealing with all this without you yelling at me.” I replied calmly.
I could hear his breathing slow down and become more even when I said that. I was glad for it too. I hope it worked.
“I’m sorry. It’s just that we mated just last night and when I woke up and you weren’t here I lost it.” He admitted.
“I know but I had to come.”
“I still think you should have let me come with you. I could have been there to support you. I didn’t even know your Aunt died. It hurts that you don’t tell me these things Kiela.” He said. “We’re mates for God sakes. We should know everything about each other.”
I sighed in defeat. I guess in some way he was right but I still wouldn’t change it. I wanted to be with my parents alone. I really needed some time away for him and everything else.
“I know I’m sorry. I guess I should have handled things a little differently.” I said telling him what he wanted to hear.
“You should but I forgive you.” He said.
“Thank you.”
“Kiela?” He said.
“Yeah?”
“I know we were both drunk last night but I don’t regret it. I’m glad it happened.” He said seriously. “I just want you to know that I…I lov-“
“Sorry I have to go; my dad is waiting for me.” I said quickly cutting him off.
My heart was pounding so fast it felt like it could pop right out of my chest. There was no I would let him say those words to me. I fear those three little words from him. If he said them then I would be expected to say them back and I know there was no way that I could do that. I like Tyler but not that way yet. Maybe with time I could but I didn’t want to rush it.
“Wait.” He shouted before I could hang up.
“What?” I cautiously asked.
“Now that was have mated we will shift in 24 hours. Just be ready. It’s a very painful process.”
I didn’t say anything in return, I was too stunned. I had totally forgotten about that. He was right though. I will change into my wolf now that we mated. I started to feel scared and worried. I don’t know if I was ready for that kind of pain. Was I ready to welcome my wolf?
“I was hoping we could go though it together but since we're not have someone with you, ok?” He said gently.
“I will.” I said. “I have to go now. We’ll talk later.”
I hung up the phone felt tears welling up in my eyes. I don’t know what was hurting me more, the fact that I mated with Tyler or because I actually felt bad for not feeling the same way for him that he did for me. I think it was a tie between the two. They both hurt. I wish I could feel something for him because he honestly loved me but I didn't. The guilt was eating away at me making everything worse.
Maybe it was time I put this silly thought about finding my mate to rest and just accept what Tyler was offering. He loved me and he was already here not to mention the fact we have mated anyway. I think I have to do it and not only that but I was going to. As soon I get back home I’m going to tell him that to. He needed to know.
“Come on dear we’re leaving.” Mom shouted from the car.
I nodded my head and walked back over to them and got into the back. I buckled up and leaned back into the seat as we drove off.
“Next stop Florida.” Dad announced.

Jeremy’s POV
Dad had called a pack meeting for the reason of the recent death that had taken place in our pack. Madeline’s family was set to show up any minute now and we all waited patiently until they got there. There was so way dad would start the meeting without them here.
I didn’t know much about the family except that they were from the Dark Moon pack. Our pack The Night Shadows has had an alliance with their pack for a long time but we have yet to use it. It was only recently that we needed their help. The rogue problem was quickly getting out of control.
I stood in the back behind everyone listen to them talking about what a great woman Madeline was and how she always cooked for the pack and so on. This was just the memorial the actual funeral wasn’t until day after tomorrow. We decided that respectful thing to do was let her family plan everything and that’s what was supposed to be done tomorrow.
“Hey sexy.” Emily whispered in my ear as he hands rubbed my chest.
“Hey.” I smirked.
Emily was my good time girl. She was beautiful and sexy and not to mention a good time. We have been on and off for about a year but recently it had been me that ended it. I was ready to move on from us and find my mate. Emily wasn’t happy with my decision but she learned to live with since we still hooked up on the side. Once I find my mate though I’m cutting all ties with her.
It took a lot more than just sleeping with someone to become mates. You first have to mark them and then accept them as a mate before having sex. That is what forms the bond making you mates.
Emily often talked about us becoming mates but I was never interested in that. I wanted to find my real mate and mate with her. I can’t wait until the day we finally meet. I’ll never let her go.
“What do you say we get out of here and go have some fun?” Emily purred.
“Em, we are here to support a family. Later ok?” I said.
“Your room at 10 tonight?” She smiled.
“I’ll be there.” I said before kissing her the lips gently.
“See you later big boy.” She chuckled before walking off.
I watch her walk away kick myself for not taking her up on that offer. If it was any other time then I would but right now I need to be here with the rest of the pack.
I glanced across the room that was filled with my pack and noticed my dad staring at me. He motioned for me to join him as he poured himself a drink by the refreshments table.
“What’s up dad?” I asked.
“Could you go make sure the guest bedrooms are ready for the Young’s when they arrive?” Dad asked.
“Bedrooms?” I asked emphasizing the plural in that.
“Yes, they are bringing their daughter with them. Kiela, I think is her name.” He said.
Kiela, what a beautiful name. Almost as beautiful as the girl from my dream last night. Man why did I ever have to wake up from that? I wish it could have lasted long enough for me to get her name.
“Hurry son, they will be here shortly.” He urged.
I nodded my head and followed the stairs that led to the floor their rooms were on. It just so happened to be on the same floor as mine on the top. The top was always the best and I guess my dad wanted the best for his guest.
I walked into the bedroom that was next to mine to make sure the room was ready before going to the one that was on down the hall.
Maybe with a little luck Kiela’s room would be the one next to mine.

Kiela’s POV
“We’re here.” Dad announced stopping the car.
I stared out the window at the amazing house in my view. It was nowhere as big as Tyler’s but it was still pretty amazing. It was large in size and had huge arched doorway and large glass windows on the side. There was a little landscaping done in front of the door which added to the beauty of it all.
I unbuckled myself and grabbed my purse before stepping out of the car. I stared at the house in awe the whole way up to the door until I couldn’t see it anymore.
Dad knocked on the door and patiently waited for them to answer. After a couple of minutes someone opened the door welcoming us in.
“Hello.” A woman who looked to be in her early forties smiled. “Welcome to our home. Please come in.”
“Thank you.” Mom and dad said in unison stepping inside.
“It’s a pleasure to meet all of you. I’m Jennifer, Luna to the pack. Madeline used to talk about everyone of you all the time.” She smiled and then looked at me. “Especially you.”
Tears threatened to seep from my eyes but I fought to hold them back. I know this was going to be a hard few days and I kind of wished I had someone here to comfort me, even if it was Tyler. I would take him over the loneliness I was feeling now any day.
“The rest of the pack is through here, follow me.” Jennifer said.
She led us into a huge living room where all the pack was gathered around. Everyone quieted down when we walked in and giving respect.
“Everyone this is Madeline’s Brother Jack and his with Elsie along with their daughter Kiela.” A man who I was guessing is the Alpha’s announced.
There were murmurs of hellos all around the room and people nodding their heads to us.
So this was the pack Aunt Madeline always talked about. She seemed to be really close to them by the things she has told us.
“I’m Alpha Charles and You’ve already meet my wife, I have a son to but he is preparing your rooms.” He said.
“I’ll show up.” Jennifer offered.
Jennifer showed us to our rooms which happened to be on the top floor of the house. I was ok with that though because the top was always the best. It had the best view to.
My room was at the very end of the hall with only one other next to it, while my parent’s room was on the complete other end. I was glad for it though, maybe now they won’t be checking in on me every five minutes.
When Jennifer left in the opposite direction with my parents I opened the door to my room to go in but what I seen wasn’t what I was expecting. There on my bed was a guy and a girl almost having sex. I’m sure if I hadn’t walked in when I did that is exactly what would’ve happened.
“Oh my god.” I screeched causing the girl to jump off of the guy.
I quickly cover my eyes and began to speak. “I’m so sorry I thought this was my room.”
“Pick this up later?” The girl asked before slightly bumping into me as she left.
After she was gone I uncovered my eyes. What happened then was not anything I was expecting. This was the last thing I thought would happen.
As soon as our eyes locked we both whispered the same word. “Mate.”
It literally felt like a charge had been set off inside my body. I was exploding with emotions. I felt love, passion, jealousy, anger, worry and finally hurt.
“I’m so sorry to stop your fun.” I said about to break into tears.
I turned to leave the room but not before he caught me but my arm. “Wait.”
“No I’ve clearly interrupted. I’ll leave so you can bring her back.” I sneered.
“I don’t want her back. I’ve just found my mate.” He exclaimed.
“I’m leaving.”
As soon as I pulled away from him he grabbed a hold of my jacket sleeve to stop me but accidently pulled if off my shoulder exposing shoulder blade as I turned away from him.
“Just look at me, please.” He begged.
I knew at that moment I couldn’t refuse his pleas. I instantly wanted to give in to him and give him what he wanted so I did. As I turned to face him instead of seeing happiness in his face it turned to pure rage. He looked like he could kill someone. I hope it wasn’t me.
He lifted his hand to my shoulder and brushed away the hair that covered it before yelling at me. “What hell is that?”
Before I could answer him he was already pushed me against the wall giving me no escape.
“How could you let someone else mark you? Did you even want to find me? Does the word mate mean nothing to you?” He roared while bombarding me with questions.
“If you would give me a minute to explain then you would know?” I yelled.
“It doesn’t matter now, you belong to someone else.” He snapped.
“I had to do it, anyway.” I defended.” Beside’s it looked like you were about do the same thing before I walked in.”
I was all but ready to break down and cry. What if he rejected me now? What if he doesn’t want me? It was all my fault. How could I have been so stupid last night? If I would have never drank anything I would still be the same ol’ Kiela I was before and my mate wouldn’t hate me. Although I was pretty mad at him right now as well.
“I wasn’t going to mate her. I was waiting for my true mate but since she already went out and found someone else then I guess I can do the same.” He said spitefully. “I hope he was worth it.”
Without another word he was gone leaving me to myself to break down. I clutched at my chest trying to hold myself together as I dropped to the floor letting the tears fall.
His words cut me life a knife and now I was in unimaginable pain. My mate was about to go mate someone else and there was nothing I could do to stop him. Because of me everything is ruined and I have lost everything.
“Oh my gosh. Kiela are you ok?” Mom cried when she spotted me from the doorway.
“No, I’ll never be.” I whispered through the tears.
