4 ☽ Noises from the locker room

Chapter 4

I hate myself.

I can't believe I'm late. Again!

I'm ten minutes late, but for once, I'm glad I have a driving license, or I would be dead by now. I park my mom's car the quickest way I can at the school's parking lot before taking my bag and making a run for it.

After bursting through the doors, the noise of them closing behind me echos on the empty hallways. Everyone is already in class. I walk past the locker room, heading to my English class with Mrs Brooklyn when I hear some strange noises.

I stop in my tracks and walk a few steps backward to stand near the locker room door. The noise is much louder. I look around for some privacy before leaning the side of my face against the steel, white door.

My hearing catches up on muffled soft feminine moans followed by animalistic growls. Werewolves. Oh, my Gods! I wonder who's the couple!

"Trevor!" the female voice breaths out, letting out a louder moan.

Who the fu- Wait a minute! Trevor? As in Taylor's Trevor?!

Curiosity gets the best of me, and I let my knees drop to the ground and lean one eye on the peephole.

Wow, Cat, not creepy at all!

Well, I'm only doing this to check if it's our Trevor. For Taylor's sake.

I spot the silhouette of a girl pressed against the locker, with her legs tightly wrapped around Trevor's waist. I squint my eye and notice that her head is buried in his neck, her blonde hair sprawled all over his shoulder while Trevor is making a weird expression.

Is he constipated or something? What's with the face?

He murmurs something to the girl, which makes her lift her head and sloppily kiss him.

I gasp, backing away.

It's Taylor! They're fucking again! Yes! I'm so happy, right now! I can't wait to tell Bella about this.

The brightest smile lights up my face.

I knew they were going to get back together sooner or later.

I get on my feet and let my legs skip happily to my classroom. I don't even dare to watch the time on my phone. It's the first time that I'm this late.

I knock softly on the door before letting myself in. Luckily Mrs Brooklyn is as sweet as candy. She forgives me, in fact, and I smile, promising her that I wouldn't be late again.

I love this class. It's the only one that I have with Bella, Taylor, and Blake, depending on the days. Oh, and there's also Trevor, of course. I don't know if it's Blake following Trevor's classes or the opposite.

I walk to the only seat left. Luckily for me, it's next to the window. On my way there, my eyes glance at the seat right in front of Mrs Brooklyn's desk, finding a smiling Bella waving at me, discreetly. I wink at her before taking my place. As the teacher moves on with her lesson, I let my eyes wander toward the window, losing myself in my thoughts.

There's a chance Taylor might get back together with Trevor, and I'd feel so relieved if it happens. Ever since the breakup Trevor keeps annoying her in every way possible, yesterday for the table was one of them, and she falls for it every single time. Then there's his Alpha who I can't seem to stop thinking about. It's not the I have a crush on him kind of thing, but it's just... curiosity, I guess? I don't know.

A sigh leaves my lips, and I turn my attention back to the lesson.

Classes go smoothly, and soon lunch comes around. I quickly pick up my bag the second the bell rings and walk toward the cafeteria. A few seconds pass by, and I stop, feeling someone staring at me.

I turn around and find Blake boldly staring while his best friend, Trevor, is talking to him. I lift a questioning eyebrow, hoping that would snap him out of whatever he's doing, but his eyes remain unmoving. I frown, looking away and pushing my body inside the cafeteria, searching for two familiar faces.

A smirk grows on my lips when I spot Taylor and Bella talking at a table. I fast walk toward them and set my bag down. "Hello, bitches."

Taylor gasps dramatically. I grin, already knowing what she has in mind. "I'm a pure wolf, excuse yourself, peasant."

I gasp, putting a hand over my chest. "Peasant? That is not what your husband told me last night."

This time both of them gasp. My shoulders shake as I hold back a laugh. Bella speaks up first. "Lord, I knew that guy was bedding someone. I just never thought it would be you."

This soap opera thing has been happening since middle school. I'm surprised that we still do it.

"Well, Leshonda, it looks like you don't know me as you think you do. Clarissa knows me better," I state.

Taylor gasps. "Clarissa?! I thought I told you to stay away from her. Traitor!"

At this point, it's becoming hard keeping a straight face. "My love, I bedded Clarissa too," I say, smiling.

"Bitch, how many people are you screwing with?!" says Bella, who couldn't hold back anymore and burst out laughing.

I look around before motioning them to come closer. "I recently found this app called Tinder, and they had so many- Wait, no! I fucked up. Wrong era!" I laugh, joining Bella. Taylor shakes her head, containing her chuckle.

I wonder how actors can keep a straight face for that long. I would literally start laughing after my first line.

Looking toward the line for lunch, I notice it getting shorter. That's our queue. I wait for us to go back to our table to break the big news about Taylor.

"So, Taylor, tell us, how big is it again?" I ask, acting nonchalant.

Taylor frowns. "How big is what?"

"Trevor's sausage."

Bella gapes at us with her chocolate-colored eyes wide open. "You had sex with Trevor!?"

Taylor turns bright red while I'm smiling like the Cheshire cat, "This morning. Guess I won the bet. Hand me my cash, woman," I say, putting my palm out to Bella.

She groans before pulling out her wallet and handing me a dollar.

Meanwhile, Taylor stares at us wide-eyed. "You made a bet on me?!"

"Well, of course. It was pretty obvious you and Trevor would get back together although she didn't believe me," I say, pointing at Bella. She's now brushing her dark wavy hair with her fingers, feigning innocence.

Taylor rolls her eyes, but I can see a small smile showing on her lips. I turn around, feeling watched once again. And of course, it's Blake. Again.

But this time, something is different.

His eyes aren't blue, as usual. No, they are black, pitch black. His wolf is controlling him, and Gods know what he'll do. A shiver runs down my back, and I swallow a nervous lump.

"Hey, Blake seems off," I say to the girls, and they turn around looking at him.

"His wolf is trying to control him," Taylor states.

"Why?" Bella asks, tilting her head to the side.

Taylor squints her eyes at Bella. "You're a werewolf too. Shouldn't you know?"

Bella shakes her head with a frown.

I shrug my shoulders. "That wolf is probably mad at something someone said. You know, Alphas and their temper," I say, rolling my eyes.

Trevor probably noticed Blake's state since his smile drops and he starts quietly talking to him. We spend the rest of the hour talking about nothing special until the bell rings.

With a sigh, I wave at Taylor and Bella after we get rid of our trays. It saddens me that I don't have a lot of classes with them.

I let my feet take me to Computer Science class while observing everyone rushing to their classes or ditching them. Ah, teenagers.

Aren't we adorable?

"Hey!" someone yells from behind me.

I turn around seeing Blake fast walk toward me, his eyes still black. I have to be honest. I'm kind of scared.

I look around before pointing at myself. "Me?"

He nods his head, stopping right in front of me. I watch him take a deep breath as I shift from one foot to the other. "Yes?"

"Are you human?" he blurts out.

I hold back the gasp that wanted to come out, and narrow my eyes in confusion, instead. "Pretty sure, why?"

He blinks his eyes that turn back to their usual blue before shaking his head and backing away. "Nothing. Bye loser."

I roll my eyes.

Loser? Since when?

I see him facepalm himself as he walks further away from me.

I don't think I'll ever understand him.

With a sigh, I turn around and head to my class.

I know a few people there thanks to group projects, but we don't really hang out after that. We do greet each other if we cross paths, though, so that's good.

When I'm a hundred percent sure that the teacher isn't looking at me, I take the risk and cautiously take out my phone. I check the lunar calendar for a second.

One week before the full moon, the night where all werecats can sense their mates.

I don't know how werewolves mate bonds work, but for us, there has to be some physical contact to activate it and not only that, but you have to be outside. Possibly under the full moon. That's why it's so hard for us felines to find our soulmates.

With a sigh -which I've been doing a lot lately- I get back to paying attention, and the hours quickly pass by. I fell asleep during the last period, and a bang makes me quickly lift my head. A grinning Bella is looking down at me. Her brown complexion is shining under this lighting, and I'm in awe every time I notice it. With that face and that hourglass figure, I'm surprised no one is hitting on her.

I blink. "What are you doing here?"

"School is over."

I groan, facepalming myself. "I can't believe I slept again."

She chuckles. "C'mon, little cat. Let's go home. You're my ride today, remember?"

I roll my eyes, smiling. "Of course I do. You go ahead, I need to grab some books from my locker first."

Bella nods her head as I give her my mom's car keys before we walk out of the class and part our ways. As I walk toward my locker, two familiar voices make me stop in my tracks.

I smirk. Another round of juicy gossip.

I slow my pace, shifting my ears to my cat ones. No one is around, and it's easier for me to eavesdrop.

"I'm telling you she's not who she says she is," someone says. From the sound of it, it's definitely a guy's voice. A very familiar guy's voice. Definitely Blake.

The other person groans. "Seriously, dude, stop thinking about her and start focusing on finding your mate."

"Exactly! I felt something, T."

"You always have, with her."

Blake groans. "This time it's different."

"With all due respect Blake, but I have to remind you that she's a Mortal. Do you want to reveal yourself to her? Fine, do it, but don't come crying when we start having hunters on our ass. With that being said, start looking through the Beasts and Pops, one of them might be our Luna."

Ugh, I hate the castes.
