Chapter 11. Discovery
After Anthony's confusing words, I went to my room and quickly took a shower and got changed into a turtleneck, wine-red coloured top, blue denim-washed jeans and paired them with my red ankle-length boots. Then I headed towards Daniel's study where Anthony was already present.
Anthony was seated on the chair opposite to Daniel's. Since there wasn't any other vacant seat left except the couch on the far end, I took a seat next to him.
It seems like he took a bath as well since his dark hair was slightly wet and had messily fallen on his forehead which he didn't bother to brush away. He wore a pair of black jeans and a white shirt of which the top three buttons were left undone. His chocolaty brown eyes accessed me and he gave me the slightest of a smile.
I simply looked away feeling my face grow warm for some unfathomable reason. Maybe it's 'cause he looks so damn hot like that.
I caught sight of Daniel smirking and I narrowed my eyes at him. He simply shrugged at that. My brother was seated behind the cherry-wood desk in the study.
The study was like any normal study room in a castle. Books and files stocked up at one corner in a huge wooden shelf. A cherry wood table at the centre with ink quills and paperweights placed on top of it and a few scrambled papers. To the other corner, was a couch which Daniel recently placed there so that Ariana could be comfortable enough here whenever she decided to be around him during his 'prince duty' work hours.
Many times, I'd even seen Ari sleeping on the couch while Daniel would simply sit in front of her sleeping form after his work is done and stare at her face instead of waking her up and then smile like a maniac. He's really whipped. But a good kind of whipped. I'm glad my brother finally got his 'one true love' after losing both of his mates. Mates who I don't even want to talk about. If one was a bitch, then the other was an even greater bitch.
"So, Carla, where'd you get that little boy from?" My reverie is cut off by Ariel's sweet voice.
I whip my head to the left where she sat next to Daniel's chair scanning a file in her hand. I didn't even notice she was here! She places that file down on the desk and asks again but this time to all of us,
"Am I the only one or does anyone else feel like they've seen the kid somewhere?" Ariel asks, her baby blue eyes accessing us as she tilts her head to the side quizzically.
Ariel's one hell of a cutie with that golden blonde hair and baby blue eyes. She looks so sweet and innocent, just like she is. But one would receive the shock of their lives when they saw this sweet werewolf queen slaughtering the ones who cause danger to her kingdom. As they say, the sweetest are the most dangerous when meddled with.
"I think I've seen him too." Daniel wondered out loud, "I don't know why but those eyes, they look so familiar."
"I feel a connection with the child. I can't explain it but I do," Anthony added, musing as he nodded at Daniel before his eyes landed on me, "What about you, Princess?"
I refrained myself from blushing at the stupid endearment. Why does it even bother me? I am the queen's sister. So, technically I'm a princess. I shouldn't be feeling giddy-ish when Anthony calls me that, right? Why am I acting like a love-sick teenager again?! Didn't you learn your lesson already, Carla, you dumb woman!
I scolded myself a bit more before looking back at the ones who are waiting patiently for me to speak.
"I don't know. All I care about is that he's lost and has to be returned back to his parents. Maybe Noah is the son of an Alpha? That's why we feel like we must've seen him somewhere considering Alpha's don't let their children's out in the public but they attend the royal ball with their children. Maybe we must've seen him in one of the balls?" I answered thoughtfully before something clicked into my head.
"Oh, there's one more thing!" My voice came out a little squeaky which I toned down when I saw Anthony smiling at my excitement.
I would say I was more confused than excited but whatever.
"What's it, Carls? And who's Noah? Is that the name of the boy?" Daniel quips his head to the side just like Ariel does when she has a question in her head.
They don't realise but they both have similar mannerisms. Maybe it's because they grew up together while I was just kiddo among these two siblings of mine. They're like centuries older than me.
Anyways, back to the topic.
"Noah, yeah that's his name, he has an affinity," I reply as I stand up and edge closer to all three of them---Daniel, Anthony and Ariel---on the desk as if I'm gonna share a secret. Well, it is a secret if you'd ask me, "He has the ability to heal others."
"What?" Ariel looks flabbergasted from the news, "How do you know?"
"Well, he healed my bleeding wound when that stupid rogue leader banged my head against the wall." A sour expression crossed my face when I remembered about that dork. Screw him to Hell.
I saw Anthony's hand form into a fist, "He did what?" His eyes held fury as he gazed at my head as if trying to check for any sign of injury.
"How dare the damned rogue hurt my sister?!" Daniel barked at the same time and I rolled my eyes at the both of them.
They were acting so extra.
"Anthony, Daniel, chill. Carla's fine now and that's what matters. Besides, what's still shocking is the little boy could heal the wound. I haven't heard of any werewolves having healing abilities. Not even royals." Ariel's eyes held confusion and curiosity in them and I could say mine held the same.
From the corner of my eyes, I saw Daniel mouthing Anthony something which seemed akin to 'You have that' to which Anthony gave a slight nod. But I didn't get anything. What did Anthony have?
"Wait, I think I know who could have that ability!" Ariel's eyes widened as if she couldn't believe it, "But I thought they were extinct. . . ."
"Who are you talking about, Carls?" Daniel looked at her quizzically and she gave him a heavenwards expression.
"Didn't you ever pay attention when mom taught us about ancient history and creatures, Danny?" She narrowed her eyes at him while he just simply scratched the back of his neck uneasily, "Maybe?"
"Okay then, lemme enlighten you all," Ariel looked at all of us, "The ones who have the healing ability are rare. And when I say rare, they're extinct. But I guess, some of them or probably their lineage still exists. They are ancients. They are. . . ." Her voice trailed as her eyes clouded. She's mind-linking someone.
I felt a warm hand grab mine under the desk and when I looked sideways, I found out it was Anthony. For some reason, he looked nervous about what Ariel was about to tell. Which confused me. I tried pulling my hand from his but he held it firmly and didn't leave my hand so I let it be, to which he smiled gratefully at me.
"Holy Macaroons! James just mind-linked me telling the kids are wreaking havoc outside. Also, he says Noah. . . ." Ariel's voice trails again as she moves past us and towards the door, "Let's go see ourselves."
With that, she walks out of the study to probably go where the kids---Cami and Noah---are while I, Daniel and Anthony follow closely behind her.
What I saw next shocked me. There next to the castle's indoor lake stood Noah beside Cami. But that wasn't all.
Noah's eyes. . . .
The white part of his eyes had completely turned into black and his irises shone an electric blue which kept switching from a darker shade to a lighter shade of blue.
His hands were raised in front of him as he shaped the entire water of the lake into the silhouette of a swan. It was like a swan made of water raised in the air above the---now, void of any water---lake.
Cami was clapping her hands and squealing as she kept jumping, staring at the swan with awe masking her features while Noah had a cute grin on his face.
And us elders?
Well, 'shock' would be an understatement to say how we felt. It was unbelievable. I've never in my life seen someone do something like that. Not even a witch.
"I was right. . ." Ariel said, her voice barely above a whisper, "He's from an ancient bloodline."
The next words she said gave us all the shock of our lives.
"He's a lycan but. . ."
"But what?" I heard Anthony ask beside me uncertainly.
"But that's not all," the way Ariel's eyes were staring at Noah like he was a ticking bomb about to explode, scared me too, "He's a demonic witch too."
Wait, what?!
That means,
Noah is a lycan/ demonic witch hybrid.
Both of them are extinct and ancient.
Oh, dear lord! What have I got myself into. . . .

As promised, an update:)
Also, I realised one thing. I'm OBSESSED with hybrids. Aren't I? I swear I don't even plan them but they just keep appearing in my head like a rabbit popping out of it's burrow to bother you non-stop. I tried to make it a bit different though. A hybrid it is, but who said it has to be only vampire/werewolf hybrid? Must as well, mix up species {>.<}
Hope you liked the chapter:)
Bubye for now.
Have a nice day! ^.^
