Chapter 5

Chapter 5

I walked inside the hotel only to be stopped by a beaming Marie.

“How’s your day been sweetheart?” Marie asked with a friendly smile.

“It’s been okay. I don’t want to sound rude, but I’m in a hurry. Sorry,” I told her as I started walking up the stairs.

Marie winked at me and grinned, which caused me to give her a weird look.

“I understand. Jace keeping you busy? That boy is such a cutie, don’t you think?” We were almost at my room and Marie was still following along.

To me, it was obvious there was nothing between Jace and me, but she probably read too much into things yesterday when Jace dropped me off.

“Yup, that’s it. Now I really need to go. I’ll see you later Marie.”

I quickly opened my door and closed it without waiting for her reply. It wasn’t my intention to be rude but my things needed to get packed quickly so that Dylan didn’t notice my absence.

Most of the clothes were still in my back pack. Too bad everything Jace had bought for me today would have to stay here, seeing as he still had it in his car.

It took me a total of four minutes to get everything ready and be on my way. I was walking down the stairs quickly, trying not to get caught when I bumped into someone. As soon as my body made contact with his, I knew who it was.

“Dylan, you’re here,” I said, giving him a forced smile.

“Well, you were taking long so I came to help you out. Do you have all your things?” Dylan asked me, while he took the back pack from my shoulders and looked at it weirdly.

“Is this all you have?” He questioned, with a frown.

“Yes.”

It was in moments like those where his thoughts scared me. There was a big possibility that he would question my sudden appearance in his town and why there was only a back pack to show for my travel.

Dylan took hold of my hand and we finished walking down the stairs. Marie saw us and held a confused expression on her face. She quickly recovered and flashed us her usual smile. With a last wave, we walked out of the hotel.

It was surprising to see the attitude change in Dylan. He had been acting the proper part of a kidnapper before. At least now, he was being nicer and civilized.

“What do you feel like eating?” Dylan asked me as we drove around through town. My thoughts were on the opportunity of escaping that had gone to waste.

“I’m not hungry anymore. We should just go to your house,” I answered.

“Our,” Dylan stated firmly.

“Huh?” I asked him.

“We should go to our house. It’s your house too.”

He offered me a smile before directing his gaze to the road.

Admitting that I harbored feelings for this guy- who was a complete stranger to me, that I had met just today, and was kidnapping me- was hard. But there was no denying that the bond was strong, despite how new it was.

I didn’t want to think of how my life would be if Dylan managed to trap me here with him. If he tried to mark me, or worse, mate with me, I would be in a contradiction with myself.

My Wolf was fighting to stay with Dylan. I wanted happiness with my mate as well, but staying meant getting trapped- or found by my former pack.

Even though Dylan drove in a controlled manner, he was still going over the speed limit. In no time, we were parked in front of his mansion.

“Can I assume that things are good between us now?” Dylan asked, as we sat on one of his fancy leather couches in the living room.

“Of course,” I replied, giving him a fake smile and squeezing his hand for added effect.

My Wolf was enjoying what I was faking. She howled inside and made me see how good it felt to be with Dylan- as for me, the feeling wasn’t mutual.

“I’m glad. I want to be able to trust you. For now, I’m keeping you all to myself. But soon we have to gather the pack so that I can introduce them to you.”

I’m sure my expression showed just how shocked I felt. It was well hidden from Dylan because as he said this, he nestled his head in my neck and started trailing small kisses all around.

If I hadn’t been too worried about meeting a lot of Wolves who could discover where I came from, I would probably be enjoying the moment a lot more.

“Do we have to do that?” I asked Dylan, trying to keep my voice steady.

He raised his head and turned to look at me.

“Yes we do. I’m the Alpha of the pack, which makes you the Luna. They have to meet their female Alpha.”

“I understand that, but is there a way we could, you know, not do that?” Dylan was giving me a confused expression.

“Why wouldn’t you want to meet them?”

I didn’t have an answer that made sense. Now that there wasn’t a way to escape from him- for now- I thought maybe it was better if we kept our distance.

“Dylan, I just met you today. You practically kidnapped me and now you want me to take an Alpha position I wasn’t after,” I said to him with an exasperated voice.

Trying to be more dramatic, I roughly pulled my hand from his and stood up, crossing my hands and glaring at him.

“Leila, I didn’t mean…” Dylan started to say.

“Save it, I don’t want to hear it. You’ve done enough for today.” With that, I stormed off to the room he said would be ours. As soon as I reached the room, I locked the door to keep him out.

At first, he ran after me, but I managed to get to the room without being stopped by him.

For the first hour that I didn’t open the door, Dylan would knock softly and beg for me to open it.

“Leila, I’m not trying to pressure you. I’m sorry, just open the door and we’ll talk about this.”

I remained silent, but my Wolf was howling inside, trying to soothe her mate.

Dylan left but returned ten minutes later.

“Princess, just open the door. I can give you time before you meet the pack. There’s no rush. Please, just open the door,” Dylan pleaded.

I sat on his king size bed with my back on the headboard thinking about my next game plan.

I needed to get another opportunity to escape. If my pack or Alpha Nicolas found me here, I wasn’t sure what my fate would be, but I wasn’t curious to find out.

Dylan waited a while before once again leaving downstairs. I heard the TV blaring through the speakers downstairs. My enhanced hearing was helpful in those moments, since I knew where exactly Dylan was at.

This time, he waited an hour before knocking at my door.

“Open the door Leila. I’m not playing around anymore. We need to talk about this.” Dylan banged on the door for a while and kept telling me to open it.

He left downstairs muttering curse words to himself. I guess he really thought his pressure had gotten to me.

About two hours later Dylan came back, but he was more demanding than the previous times.

“Leila! Open the fu*cking door right now before I tear it down! We are going to talk about this. I’m your mate and Alpha, and you do as I say. Get this da*mn door unlocked right now!” He ordered.

I figured it was the perfect time to keep my vulnerable act on.

I slowly walked to the door and unlocked it. As soon as the click was heard, Dylan made his way into the room.

“We are going to talk about this,” Dylan stated, before taking in my appearance.

“Baby, what’s wrong?” He asked, as he embraced me.

“You are so demanding Dylan, you know that?”

Dylan loosened his hold on me and grinned.

“I am, aren’t I?”

“It wasn’t a compliment!” I snapped.

“Why don’t you want to meet the pack?” Dylan questioned, moving us to sit on the bed.

“I already told you why. I just met you today. Don’t you think it’s a little too soon to be introduced to them?” I said, trying my best to make it sound logical.

“You’re right, but it still has to be soon. They have to know that you are my mate and everyone has to respect you,” Dylan caressed my cheek and was looking at me lovingly.

We spent the rest of the afternoon in his house. Dylan had Jace bring my things to the house. I noticed tension between the two, but as I had expected, Jace bowed down to his Alpha.

“We’re going to Michael’s barbeque two days from now,” Dylan said to me as he walked into the living room where I had been at.

I was sitting down on one of the couches watching TV. Dylan took the seat next to me, placing his hand on my thigh.

“Do I have to go? I haven’t been feeling so great,” I told Dylan, trying to fake sickness.

I had been here almost a week now and Dylan had been insisting every day that I meet the pack. Most times his Wolf came out and he ordered me to meet the pack with his Alpha tone. Kissing and pouting usually gave me more time to delay meeting them.

I was trying to find an opportunity to escape. With every day that I stayed with him, my Wolf insisted more on staying completely. My will was weakening because just the thought of leaving my mate, was painful.

“Leila, it has been almost a week that you’ve been here and only a few members of the pack know you. Everyone is curious to meet their new Luna. Hell, I’m not sure how much longer I can keep my parents away.”

Every day we had the same argument about his parents. They were both dying to meet me, but I knew that getting to know them would be another tie I had with his pack.

“Well, is it okay if I skip the barbeque and only you go?” I asked, trying to buy myself some more time.

“No. I have given you enough time to get used to being here. You are my mate and the Luna of this pack. We’re going and that’s final,” Dylan stated, firmly.

I unintentionally whimpered. My Wolf didn’t like his tone and I was right behind her.

“I only meant that we could skip the barbeque and make a day of our own to present me to the pack.”

I looked down after I said this. Dylan softly placed his hand under my chin trying to make me look at him.

“I’m sorry. You’re right, that sounds better. We should make our own day,” Dylan told me, offering me a genuine smile.

“I’d like that, maybe we could do it next weekend or something. It would give us enough time to prepare,” I said, while he took my hand in his.

I was looking at him and suddenly noticed a glint in his eyes. He smirked and placed his hands around my waist, smoothly sitting me on his lap.

“You do realize that when this happens we will have to be mated,” Dylan said while kissing my neck.

“What?” I yelled, pushing him away.

“It’s been a week since I found you. We were supposed to mate the first day, but I gave you time. We will be mated by the time I present you to the pack.”

Dylan had his hands on either side of my waist while I straddled him. I was trying to get away from his hold after he said that, but he held on to me tighter.

“I don’t want us to mate!” I said, once again raising my voice.

I felt the happiness surging through me at the thought of completing the mating process. My Wolf wanted to be claimed by Dylan- completely.

“It will happen, and that is not open for discussion,” Dylan said, as he removed me from his lap and placed me on the couch.

“I’m going for a run, Eric and John will come and look after you while I’m gone.”

Dylan hadn’t marked me yet, which was a surprise to me. Even without that bond, it was obvious that Dylan was upset right now.

This was the first time he left like that after an argument. The previous times he had stayed and begged me to forgive him, even when he hadn’t really been at fault.

I wanted the time alone, but my Wolf kept screaming at me. She was trying to take over and stop Dylan from leaving. The only thing I did was watch him go.
