Sisters: Resistance

Chapter 12

Flame looked outside the window on the palace's top floor. Outside were hundreds of ships and soldiers from different species ready to fight.

"Are you ready Flame? They need to attune your soul the the sealing soul," said Temporis who was behind him.

"I'm ready. I just hope this will be enough to stop them," said Flame. The two then walked over to what appeared like a large room above. There stood King Damiron and Empress Aeltrix along with other Matrixian scientists and Infinisapien guards.

"Shouldn't Hellen and Alvero be here?" asked Flame.

"No. For the child is already here," said Temporis pointing at a floating orb of blue light floating in the middle of the room, "An entity type Infinisapien."

"So that is him..." said Flame looking at the orb of
light.

"Infinisapiens have one of two default forms. I am an Biologic Type Infinisapien. More like what you would call an alien," said Temporis, "We can take any form we want, but we prefer the forms we are born with."

Flame looked around the room. On each corner stood a larger pillar of energy, all surrounding the orb of light in the middle.

"Knights," called King Damiron, "Sir Flame, once the sisters are in orbit, the process shall start. My other Knights have already informed me of them approaching Regnonium."

"Question. Will this hurt?" asked Flame.

"Very. I just hope you have a high pain tolerance," said Empress Aeltrix.

"Umm... how high?" asked Flame worriedly.

"Well... imagine yourself being inside-out. Around that," said the Empress. At this point Flame's jaw was touching the floor.

"Flame... are you okay?" said Temporis as she saw him going pale.

"I'll live... if it doesn't take long," said Flame.

"Just one minute," said Empress Aeltrix, "Due to all the pain, you probably won't feel time passing, so it should probably fee like a few seconds to you."

"Oh... well isn't that nice," said Flame in fear.

"Are you sure that you want to be the one. Anyone else can take your place," said the Empress.

"Nah... I think I'm sure. I think... " said Flame.

"So how is thing going to work?" asked Temporis.

"Well, we could not have done this without help from someone," said Empress Aeltrix, "Can you come here Professor Thompson?"

A man wearing a white lab coat with a black suit approached them. He had white hair and a white beard, and wore a pair of glasses.

"Wait a sec..." said Flame, "Professor Mark!?"

"Hmm... Professor Mark?" said the scientist, "No, it is Professor Marcus Thompson. Simple mistake."

"Professor Thompson contributed with our research in seals. Of course the price for making one as strong as this one is very high," said Empress Aeltrix.

"You see, the power of the soul is very strong. It could allow us to create many things. Of course that thanks to my work, I can use someones soul, but not in anyway affect it's connection to the spirit," said Professor Mark, "Of course, all good souls are the same. So a human soul provides the same amount of power as any of the other souls. But how is it that you know of me?"

"Umm... I know a guy who knows a guy?" said Flame nervously.

"Well, I would like to meet this guy," said Professor Mark laughing, "Now that everything is set up, I shall take my leave."

"Wait, you are not staying?" asked Flame.

"Of course not. I am not allowed to mettle in many affairs. Well, not allowed to mettle a lot. But I will keep observing," said Professor Mark as he began walking out but before he left he stopped and turned to see them, "Sir Flame, remember this. The eye of the future gazes at the past."

He then stepped out the door and disappeared.

"What does that mean?" said Flame. Suddenly he was approached by one of the Infinisapien researchers.

"Excuse me Sir Flame. We need you to sign this. It is to show that you are letting us use your soul energy on your own accord," said the Infinisapien.

"Yeah, sure," said Flame as he wrote his real name.

"Your name is Stephen?" said Temporis as she stood behind him.

"Flame is more of a hero name. I prefer to be called that," said Flame.

"Really? Anything else that I should know about?" asked Temporis jokingly.

"I can cook," said Flame completely serious, "My family owns a restaurant."

Temporis just looked at him in silence.

"Was that a joke?" she asked.

"No! I can really cook!" said Flame.

"You don't look the type," said Temporis, "But all you have proven up until know is that you are full of surprises."

"Sounds like you are not taking me too seriously..." said Flame, "I got it! When you meet my friends, I'll cook something for you guys! That way both you and them will know I can cook!"

"Cook something?" said Temporis. Suddenly the thought of her and Flame... eating alone together. Like a... date? she thought, a  blush forming on her face.

"Yeah. The others don't believe I can cook... I'll show them!" said Flame.

Out of nowhere a Matrixian soldier ran into the room.

"Sir Flame and Dame Temporis," he said bowing, "I was told to inform everyone that reinforcements have arrived."

"Reinforcements? What reinforcements?" asked Temporis.

"Each of group called all allies they had to join them in battle. A couple thousand different species are already surrounding the planet, preparing themselves to battle the sisters," said the soldier.

"A couple thousand species? Why did they come?" asked Flame.

"We are dealing with the power of Melanchulus. This is no minor threat. Considering the power displayed by Malthurax, Thrall Of Melanchulus, they want to get rid of them as soon as possible before they become stronger," said the soldier.

"That makes sense," said Flame. He walked over to one of the windows and looked outside. Hundreds of ships covered the sky, all of them preparing for combat.

"That's a lot of soldiers..." said Flame, he them turned around to see the rest, "Alright. Let's get this started!"

He walked over to where the floating energy orb floated in the middle. Bellow it, written in glowing letters of a strange language was his name.

"Solaris Eridis," said Temporis reading it, "His name is chosen like the rest of us. When we are born, our names are chosen by our subconscious mind. Our old language is similar to the human latin. But we have a few words that don't exist in the human language."

"What does his name mean?" asked Flame.

"It means... Solar Infelicity. Weird name honestly. Never heard a kid being called Infelicity," said Temporis.

"What does your name mean?" asked Flame.

"It means Time Eternal," responded Temporis, "Are you ready to do this? Remember, it will be quite painful."

"I think so," said Flame, and then he turned to one of the Matrixian researchers, "How will we do this?"

"Sir Flame, you must use this," said the researcher as he handed a right-handed glove made of black metal to Flame, "After that, you must touch the synthetic almatium crystal located next to the body of the Infinisapien."

Flame saw as two Infinisapien researchers planted a glowing blue crystal into the ground.

"It will begin a process of attuning both souls. When that is done, the other soul will be ready to create the seal," said the researcher.

Suddenly another Infinisapien Knight burst into the room. Looking franticly.

"You must do this! Hurry!" he said to the researchers.

"What's the matter?" asked a Matrixian. The Knight pointed out the window to a darkened sky that glowed an ominous red.

"No way..." said Flame as suddenly he felt a pressure cover the land causing everyone to take a step back.

"It's them," said Temporis, "The sisters... they are already here..."

Location: Regnonium
Time: Present

The team looked around everywhere, but could not find a trace of Overdrive's parents. They had banished completely.

"Where could they have gone?" said Genos.

"I don't know, their presence is completely hidden," said Humatrix, "They are nowhere to be found."

"We are back on the first floor, yet we haven't found anything," said Night Mist, "Could the spring be anywhere else?"

"The two had said that the spring was most likely in the castle. And it would make sense too. It is probably the most important thing in the planet for them. Of course they would protect it with the castle," said Nighto.

"Hey guys," said Kairu whom had only been around a short time, "Look at his."

He pointed at a trail of blue glowing Infinisapien blood that led down a collapsed corridor. Suddenly the glowing blood faded away.

"That is weird. Could the spring have collapsed during the initial attack?" said Mystican.

"Now that I concentrate in that direction..." said Beyonder, his eyes glowing red, "There is a mysterious energy coming from over there."

"Yeah. I can feel it slightly," said Frostbite, "It feels familiar. Almost like Overdrive."

"Let's move the rocks out of the way," said Humatrix as his arms turned bigger and he began throwing the collapsed debris out of the way.

"I'll help," said Mystican as he began turning the rocks to dust.

Soon in no time the entire corridor became once again available. The team then walked down the corridor, following the energy. Finally they came upon another collapsed door. It was massive. It was made of an opaque blue glowing material. It was cracked everywhere, and closing the way in which the energy came from.

"Weird. It appears we will have to keep hitting it until it breaks," said Genos as he punched the rock with all his might, making small cracks.

"Guys... look at this," said Beyonder.

"What is it?" asked Night Mist.

Beyonder pointed at a small plaque next to the door. The team's eyes widened in shock as they read what it said:

Alvero And Hellen. Father and Mother of Solaris Eridis. Royal Guard Captains. Died protecting the Spring Of Life from the Sisters.
