Sisters: Battle

Chapter 13
(Hi, it's been a while)

"Alright! Everyone get ready!" said a scientist as he and the rest were preparing the machine. Flame found himself shackled to the soul crystal by a mysterious golden energy. A similar golden energy also connected Solaris to the soul crystal.

"This will begin to create a link between his soul and the seal. Your soul will act as a medium between the two," said a scientist as he grabbed what looked like a spongy blue material.

"You might want to bite this. The pain is going to excruciating," said the scientist.

"Flame," said Temporis, "I have to go and join the outer defenses. It is the commander's orders," said Temporis.

"What? Really?" said Flame.

"Sorry. Don't worry, I'll be fine," said Temporis, "I'm not going be fighting alone. We just need to try to push back their army just long enough for the seal to be created."

"Fine. Just be careful out there," said Flame as he looked at one of the windows to see the red sky. Flashes of light could be seen above the clouds as the battled ensued.

"I will. Don't worry," she said as she began to walk away, but then turned around one last time and she smiled, "I'll come back!"

And then she exited the room and teleported away, out towards the battlefield.

"Ready to get started?" asked a Matrixian scientist.

"I guess so..." said Flame.

"Alright. Get it started," said the scientist. A group of different Matrixians and Infinisapiens touched the soul crystal, and started pouring the power into it. The crystal began to glow, and lightning-like energy started blasting out from it.

The golden shackle the Flame had suddenly began glowing. Suddenly Flame doubled up in Flame as he began to glow with a purple aura. He could feel as his own soul began to connect to the soul crystal. The searing pain began coursing in his body. He clenched his teeth, and only thanks to the sponge that he didn't break his own teeth.

"It is working!" said Empress Aeltrix as the soul crystal began to glow. Solaris' soul energy was being match to the soul crystal, and Flame was helping maintain the energy flow evenly as his own soul became linked to the soul crystal and Solaris' soul.

Suddenly the Flame Blade was blasted out of it's sheath, and fell on the floor. The sword began shaking, and blasted an intense heat. Cracks began forming on the blade. The sound of shattering glass was heard as the soul crystal stopped emitting energy, and Flame was released from his shackle. He fell on the ground, cold sweat running down his forehead. His hand was twitching as the terrible pain was going away.

The Flame Blade rested on the floor. The blade had cracked, and the handle had turned a dull gray color. The sword set itself aflame. When the fire died down, the blade had changed shape. It was still a one-edged sword, but it had a ricasso that had the shape of a dragon going up the blade. The cross-guard had changed, and now had a more jagged appearance. The pommel had taken the shape of a claw. The blade was massive, 6 feet in length, and the handle only being to be used one handedly.

"Sir Flame? Can you stand?" asked Empress Aeltrix.

"I can," said Flame as he managed to get on his feet. He looked at his wrist and saw a burn had remained, despite his resistance to heat.

"The synthetic soul crystal managed to do the job," said the Empress, "We just need to get them in range. That is, inside the capital. The crystal cannot be moved, it would certainly mean that it would be harmed."

"Synthetic?" said Flame.

"A soul crystal is stronger than this one, like the one down there on the spring," said the Empress, "But nearly impossible to recreate perfectly or move the original."

"Huh? The Flame Blade?" said Flame as he saw his sword laying on the ground. He walked to it and saw that it had changed. He then grabbed the handle with his hand.

Suddenly he felt as a new power course through him as the Flame Blade glowed with a newfound power.

"That's... weird," said Flame as he held the sword. He felt the Kaen Katana become hotter on his back as two two blades now matched evenly in power. Flame looked at his blurry reflection on the opaque wall. His eyes glowed orange now, as if there was a fire in his eyes.

"Sir Flame. I recommend aiding in battle," said Empress Aeltrix, "We need to cut down their army, and then we must get the sisters within range of the soul crystal."

"I will," said Flame as he sheathed the Flame Blade, seeing as how the sheath on his back had changed in shape to fit the sword. He adjusted his cape, and then a pair or fiery wings appeared on his back. Unlike the ones before, this ones had a more jagged appearance, more dragon-like than bird-like.

"Alright... something is weird," said Flame, "I'll check it out later."

He then jumped out the window and spread his wings. Suddenly he was engulfed in fire and blasted away at speeds he had never reached before.

"Alright. The fighting is still up there," said Flame as he blasted towards the sky. He passed the clouds until her reached the space above. Warriors were driving back the snake monsters. In the distance a fight could be heard between the leaders of all the different species as they tried to push back Exitus and Exitium.

"Flame! You are alright," said someone behind him. Flame turned around to see Temporis. Her armor had shattered completely, leaving only he metallic black suit.

"Temporis, what happened?" asked Flame.

"Nothing. Just got caught in the crossfire," she said, "Your eyes, what happened to them? They are glowing."

"Umm... don't worry about that," said Flame, "How is the battle going?"

"We managed to drive out half their troops. But their power keeps increasing, while our numbers are going down," said Temporis, "Is the seal ready?"

"It is," said Flame, "They told me they have to be inside the capital for it to activate though."

"Oh. We better report that," said Temporis and then smiled. Suddenly she hugged Flame.

"Glad you are alright. Let's go!" she said smiling.

"Uh... yeah. The commander should be around here right?" said Flame.

"Yeah, he is over there," said Temporis.

Battling more than one enemy was the commander Daryon. Surrounding him were the snake hybrids that kept biting and blasting him with energy. Despite this he kept fighting, ripping apart hordes of enemies.

"Let's help," said Temporis as she teleported there and began punching the snake hybrids, causing them to be torn apart.

"Alright my turn!" said Flame as he raised the Flame Blade. Suddenly the sword began to shake, and changed forms to the form it had before. A bright light came of it, and the a fiery explosion engulfed the battle field.

While Temporis, Daryion and the soldiers were alright, the monsters closer to him were blasted away and gave the soldiers a chance to finish them off. Unfortunately this caught unwanted attention. Flame saw the sisters floating before them. Down below on the ground was King Damiron, bruised and bleeding.

"Hmm... you seem more interesting," said Exitius. She was covered in blood.

"Oh... crud," said Flame. He aimed his sword at them, the blade emitting an amazing amount of heat. It seemed to respond to their power, for it changed form to the appearance that it had after the creation of the seal.

"Huh? You want to fight?" said Exitium.

"Me? Oh crud," said Flame, he then held up the Flame Blade and the Kaen Katana, "I'll take you on."

"Flame..." sighed Temporis and smiled, "I got your back."

The sound of tons of soldiers could be heard right behind them. Flame looked back to see the thousands of soldiers, ready to fight alongside them.

Then the two charged forward at them. The sisters smiled as they began cleaving down soldiers as they came. But the overwhelming numbers kept pouring in.

"Human! Learn your place!" yelled Exitius as she punched the Flame Blade, which caused the sword's blade to crack. Fire engulfed the blade, and it delivered a devastating blow, and repaired itself. While he had the Kaen Katana, and the Flame Blade's new form he was now almost half as strong as Temporis. Thanks to her he was managing to keep fighting as she defended the incoming blows.

Soldiers kept coming in as they attacked from all sides either in physical or in intangible forms. Hundreds, no, thousands of different species all fighting alongside each other. The sisters were not as strong as their future counterparts, and they were being pushed back.

"Damn you all!" yelled Exitium as she slashed right through the soldiers with a large attack, strengthened with the power of Melanchulus. Soldiers were killed immediately as they were impacted with the attack.

"Take this!" yelled Flame as he used both swords and the Infinisapien cape's ability to deal a huge blow as he counterattacked. Exitius looked at Flame in anger as she spoke:

"Why you son of a-" cursed Exitius but was interrupted by a blast of energy from Temporis and other soldiers.

"Just die already!" yelled Exitium as she charged Flame from behind. Her hand turned into a claw, and she swung down. Flame's eyes widened as he looked back as the attack came towards him at insane speeds. His new powers allowed him to react quicker, but this attack, he couldn't block it.

"Flame!" yelled Temporis as she teleported and grabbed him from behind just as the claws slashed her back. Her eyes widened in pain as she was shot flying through the air right into the palace. She crashed through the window of one of the lower floors.

My power... can't feel it, she thought as she felt the sting of glass cuts as she crashed right through the floor. Temporis fell through the air, as she finally ended up on the floor level. She saw the crystals on the floor of the Spring as she fell. She finally hit the ground after what felt like an eternity. Temporis a searing pain on her side.

Temporis looked at her side, and saw one of the Springs crystals had impaled her on the side. She couldn't teleport away or do anything to get out as she felt her blood leaving her.

"Temporis!" yelled Flame as he flew through the hole on the roof. He was shocked as he saw the water in the spring had a glowing blue color. The color of Temporis' blood.

"Oh crap," said Flame as he knelt besides her, "Can you heal?"

"No... my power is leaking out of me," said Temporis as she laid in the springs waters. Her eyes had a glassy look to them as she looked at Flame.

"You'll be fine," said Flame as he tried to think of something to do. Temporis touched his cheek with her hand as she smiled.

"I'll be fine. You are here," she said. She felt pain on her back. The attack had nulled her ability to focus her power herself.

"I'll stay here. Don't worry," said Flame.

"No... you have to go. You have to stop them," said Temporis, "I can feel myself staring to heal. Don't worry."

"Really? Are you sure?" said Flame.

"Yeah," said Temporis with a smile, "Go show them your power."

Flame clenched his teeth as he looked at Temporis smiling.

"The blood isn't stopping. Your power is coming back," said Flame, a tear formed on his eye.

"Why are you crying Flame?" said Temporis, "Hmm... only from your right eye though."

"My right eye?" said Flame. He then remembered the wound from Subfrost from a while ago.

"Your left eye always seemed a bit darker than the left," said Temporis, "You've never noticed?"

"Temporis... you'll be fine, I'll get help," said Flame.

"I don't think there is time for that Flame," said Temporis, "Huh... they said it feels cold. I don't really feel anything."

"What are you saying?" said Flame.

"It was only for a few days," said Temporis, tears coming from her eyes, "I didn't think it would be so sudden though..."

She then looked at the ceiling.

"I wanted to keep going on adventures with you. Meet your friends," sobbed Temporis, tears falling into the spring's waters, "And I also wanted to tell you-"

"Tell me what?" asked Flame as he saw his friend. The wound on her back glowed with a red power. The wound slowly driving away her power more and more.

"No... I can't tell you. Definitely not now," lamented Temporis, "Traveling with you... it was fun."

"What are you talking about? You are going to go on more adventures. Just hold on a bit," pleaded Flame. He looked at Temporis' face. Tears kept coming, but she still had a smile.

"You don't have to force yourself... to smile," said Flame as he gave her a hug as he felt her life force diminishing.

"You," grieved Temporis, "I won't forget you. Ever."

Flame felt her body go limp, as she no longer hugged him. He looked at her in grief. Her eyes were half opened, but they no longer had their natural blue glow. Instead now, along with her hair, had turned a dark shade of blue.

"Damn it..." said Flame, as put her down into the water. He closed her eyes and then he stood up. The water around him bubbled and turned into vapor as he clenched his fists. He looked up at the ceiling, his eyes glowing with the sheer power of fire.

"I'll make them pay for hurting my friends," said Flame as the fiery dragon wings on his back. Dark black scales formed on the sides of his face. He blasted off, leaving a trail of fire.

Below laid Temporis, her body left alone. A few tears streamed down her face, unseen by Flame.

I wanted to be with your more, she thought, I wanted to tell you...

Her thoughts went quiet, as she felt a warm light embrace. She smiled peacefully, and prayed for Flame's victory as she finally closed her eyes one last time.

———

"Damn that human!" yelled Exitius as she fought more incoming soldiers, "He dare inspire this troops to fight!?"

Suddenly the land itself trembled as a powerful force covered the land. The soldiers turned around in shock. Exitius and Exitium's turned in shock.

Standing above the palace stood a black-scaled beast. It was massive, at least three hundred feet from tail to head. A pair of wings on it's back. The beast's eyes made of fire, it's wings covered in fire. Fire dripped from it's jaws as it looked at the sisters. It's eyes blazing with fury. The black dragon then opened his jaws before letting out a deafening roar.

"Well, this battle just got more interesting," said a figure standing far away, looking up at the sky now covered in fire. Cloaked in black, and wielding a scythe in it's hand as it looked at the future mayhem.

"Good luck, Flame Warrior," it said as it looked at the incoming battle.
