Corruption: Power

Location: Betrux A12: Betrux System. Traetic Galaxy.

Present Time

Beyonder and Genos could not believe what they were hearing. Overdrive had never killed anyone before. Genos heard he blamed himself for the death of Elena, so there was no way he killed his mother. For as long as he had known him, Overdrive had never showed any type of behavior that may hint to murder. And how could he had been responsible for her death in the first place? But... few years back he wouldn't have cared for anyone but himself. He thought he was a god back then. Because of that, why would he had bother himself killing Genos' parents?

"You don't believe me?" said the demon. "Well, that matters not to me. For now there is something more important to do."

"What would that be?" asked Genos who was having trouble believing his father's words.

"Genos," said Beyonder through telepathy, "I am not sure if we should listen to him. He seems... unstable."

"I agree, but he is my father," responded Genos. "I want to hear what he wants to say. Then we will see what we should do."

"Well son, there is something you have been missing for a long time," said the demon. "You have only used half of your power this whole time! Have you forgotten? You are the son of a demon and an angel!"

"So that means I have more power than I thought?" said Genos as he looked at his hands, which were covered in metal but emanated a faint crimson light. The power of a demon. But, there was more power than that?

"Why haven't I been able to use this power before?" asked Genos.

"Angelic powers are harder to master, and are activated through words and spells, while demon powers are activated through raw strength."

"I see," said Beyonder. "You want teach him how to use this power so you can have your revenge on Overdrive."

"More or less," said the demon, showing an eerie smile, "But this will also take down that monster threatening everyone, wouldn't it? It's a win-win."

"I could kill the monster..." said Genos thoughtfully, then made his decision. "I agree."

Genos' father smiled, and then extended his hand.

"Then, do we have a deal?" he asked. His hand was covered in dark crimson energy, demonic energy stronger than that of Genos.

"Yes," said Genos as he shook his hand, and felt pain as he was covered in the dark energy. Beyonder was shocked and tried to separate Genos, but was sent back by an invisible force in par with his own power.

"What is this!?" yelled Beyonder. Until that day, nothing had ever managed to push him back. He looked up in shock, as the crimson energy had turned golden. Genos screamed in pain and doubled over. His eyes were glowing in golden light, and cracks started to from in his metal parts. Beyonder stared in horror, and yelled at the demon to stop, but the demon just stood there, smiling.

Then he let go, and Genos fell back on the ground, unconscious. Beyonder got up and pointed at the demon.

"What did you do to him!?" he asked.

"Why, I only unlocked his power of course," said the demon. "It will take him some time to wake up. The process of unlocking the power is quick, but painful and tiring."

Beyonder just stared at the demon, a clear look of disgust in his face. He wasn't sure if he should trust him at all. So for now, he will just watch, but the second anything happens, he will act.

Somewhere Far Away (Corruption POV)

The Corruption grew stronger! Yes, we referred to ourselves as the Corruption. Anyone who gets close to us already know our name. Since when have we been conscious? We don't know.

We?

Yes! Us! We are the Corruption! Who are we you ask? Who is asking? We don't know. We just hunger. We need... to feed!

Energy!

Energy? Yes, we need lots of it! We need more! Where can we find more? We wonder. This small prey isn't enough for us! We still hunger! We need more!

Oh, but where would we find it?

Somewhere Else, In The Darkest Recesses Of The Infiniverse

A monster. That's what it was. A powerful monster that could rip apart anyone. He was powerful, everyone feared him. Not because of his power. Everyone had power in the Infiniverse. No. They feared him because of he could do with that power. The monster spit something out of his mouth. It was a bone made of a nearly unbreakable material.

"This meal has filled me up!" laughed the monster. It had dark red skin, and it's some parts of his body were covered in some sort of bone, as if he wore armor. His upper side of his head was covered in this bone armor that looked like half a skull, and was attached to his skin. It left his lower mandible showing, and through the eyes sockets, two bright yellow eyes showed. His mouth was showing, and one could see hundreds of jagged teeth. The monster was big, and had a muscular appearance.

Suddenly the monster heard footsteps coming up from behind him. He turned around and saw Professor Mark walking towards him.

"The brainiac pays me a visit," said the monster as he towered over the Professor.

"I came here because," said the Professor worriedly, keeping his distance when suddenly he found himself in the claws of the monster. The monster shook him around, slamming him into the floor and walls with so much brute strength, the Professor's bones could be heard cracking, and his monocle had cracked and fallen off. The Professor looked up in pain. The monster's intelligence was actually on par with the Professor's, and he was way stronger.

"I know why you are here Marcus," said the monster. "And I agree. This once I will not try to kill you, like that time that puny school burned."

"How dare you speak of them that way!?" said the Professor before his head was slammed against the ground, and blood came out of his nose.

"Shut it. I am will not listen to your complains," said the monster. "I will help only because I feel that the Corruption is strong. I wonder though, how strong. Everyone knows I am still looking for a challenge."

The monster walked away, but before living, he kicked the Professor towards the wall, and the Professor groaned as his arm was broken due to the force of the kick. He looked up to see as the monster ran at incredible speeds outside.

"Malthurax, I cannot calculate the outcome, but I know this is may be our best change of survival," said the Professor before blacking out.
