Emma POV

After that night in the forest with Rock, life has been pretty crazy. I took Tony under my wing and asked him to be my personal assistant. I wanted him to be more comfortable around Alpha's and the pack and what better way to do that than have him work close to me. He has been fantastic in helping me with my daily tasks. He has even been training with my head warrior and has built up some body mass and even grew a few inches so I'm happy to see him getting better.

"Alpha Emma, you have an invitation from the Alpha King." Tony said coming into the office.

"What on earth, why would he want to see me?" I asked taking it from Tony.

I opened it and he has requested for me to be in Europe next week.

"I don't know but that is really cool that he wants to see you. If the Alpha King asks to see someone, they must have done something to impress him."

"Right but I wonder what I did. I haven't been Alpha of the pack for more than a couple months almost." I asked looking at Tony.

"Well you did bring a lot of packs together with ease and you have been keeping all of us safe and we have no problems within the pack so maybe he needs help with packs over there, you won't know until you go."

"You're right. I would ask you to come along with me, but I know Steve wouldn't like that to much, being mates and all." I said smiling and he blushed.

"Yea I don't think so either but thank you for the thought. Who will you take since I'm sure Luna Brant will stay here looking after the pack."

"I'll take Beta Aaron with me and a couple guards, won't need many since the place I'm going is guarded better than Fort Knox." I said and he nodded.

He placed paperwork on my desk and walked out of the office before telling me he will be back soon. I sat down and leaned back in the chair just thinking of what the Alpha king could want with me, I'm a nobody. Sure, I'm a very powerful Alpha female but what could he, the almighty Alpha King want with me? As I am thinking this I sense my mate is walking down the hall and getting closer to my office. He opens the door and walks in and comes over next to me, picking me up and sitting down and putting me on his lap. I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him softly.

"Hi love." I say noticing it's Rock in control at the moment.

"Hi, I heard you are going to see the Alpha King. Tony told us when he saw us a little bit ago. When are you leaving?"

"I have to be there next week; will you stay here and take care of things for me? I don't want to have to worry about the pack when I am there. I have no idea why he wants to see me; I didn't get any kind of warning he was sending me this invite. I'm so nervous, it's the Alpha King for goddess sake."

"You my darling beautiful mate have no reason to be nervous, if the Alpha King requested you, you surly have done something to catch his eye. And of course, I will take care of the pack, it's my family so no need to worry. I will also keep Brant in check as best I can. Who is going with you though?"

"Aaron of course and a couple guards, want to keep it low key, don't want all the attention being drawn toward me by having a lot of men follow me like I'm some kind of famous person or royalty." I said and he placed kisses on my mark causing me to moan loudly.

"Stop I can't do anything right now; I need to get this paperwork finished. It's the pack financials and requests to leave the pack for vacations and what not. I need to get this done before I leave so right now please stop." I said moving his head from my neck and looking into his eyes. He sighed and stood up and put me on the chair and kissed me softly and walked out.

A few hours later I am finally finished with the paperwork for the financials and I was about to start working on the requests when my stomach started yelling at me to feed it so I got up and walked out of my office. I went down to the pack kitchen and saw many members chatting and cooking and pups playing. I saw my little sweet boy who I fell in love with. His parents passed away and the pack take care of him, but he has a special place in my heart.

"Hey Austin!" I said to the little black haired green-eyed beautiful boy who was running to me when he saw me walk in and jumped in my arms.

"Hi Emma, how are you?" he asked in his sweet little voice while nuzzling into the crook of my neck and sighing softly.

"I'm alright sweetheart how are you doing?"

"Fine, just tired. Will you spend some time with me tonight, maybe read me a bedtime story and tuck me in?" He asked ever so sweetly.

"You can count on it. I am in the middle of paperwork but after I get a snack you can come to my office with me and play while I do it and then we can go to my suite and watch some cartoons and color or whatever you want and you can stay the night with me if you'd like."

"I would love that!" he squealed in happiness and I smiled at him.

"Ok, have you eaten dinner yet?" I asked and he raised his head and said no so I carried him to the fridge and opened it with my free hand and got out some soup and I put him on the counter and I saw him grab a cookie and break it in half and gave me half and he took a bite of the other half.

"Thank you, sweetheart. Did you help bake these?"

"Yes!" he said, and I took a bite.

"That is a delicious cookie, you are handy in the kitchen which is great for when you get older and you can cook for your mate."

"Does Luna Brant cook for you Emma?" he asked and that made me stop in my tracks and I tilted my head a little at him.

"No, he only cooked for me once weeks ago. I usually cook when I get to my suite if I haven't eaten anything and he is in bed by the time I get there. We haven't seen much of one another lately since I have been busy, and he has been helping with the training." He just nodded and took another bite of his half of a cookie.

I really need to spend some time with Brant, it's not like I don't want to it's just I have been busy with so many pack members that I hardly have time to eat let alone spend time with my mate but I need to, the bond isn't getting stronger so if we don't spend time together it will eventually just break and I don't want that.

After the soup is heated up, I put some in bowls for those that are hungry and I take my bowl and Austin's as he carries the bottles of tea up to my office. We sit at the table and eat and chat and after I am finished, I go to my desk and work on the mountain of requests I need to take care of before I leave.

A couple hours go by and I see Austin is sleeping on the couch, so I stop working and go pick him up and take him to my suite. It's only nine so I hope Brant is still awake. I put my thumb on the scanner and the door opens. I walk in and close it with my foot before taking Austin to a spare room and I gently lay him on the bed and take his shoes off and cover him up. I kiss his forehead gently and turn on the lamp across the room and put it on the low setting, so it doesn't wake him up. I walk out of the room closing the door almost all the way and make my way to my bedroom. Brant isn't here so I have no idea where he is. I sigh and go to get some clothes and go take a bath. When I am finished, I lay down and let sleep take over me. I just wish my mate was here in bed with me. I miss him.
