Chapter II
"Get back here!"
Aquaria laughed as she ran away from Varian.
"No! They're mine! You can't have them!" Aqua ran with his goggles, trying to make him stop working so he would get some sleep.
Varian caught up to her, but she held his goggles behind her and away from him as he reached for them.
Aquaria giggled, but when she felt his lips on hers, her arms fell to her side. She went to put her free hand on his cheek, but he took the goggles out of her hand when she was distracted.
He pulled away chuckling lightly with a pink blush crossing his cheeks.
"Oh, that was dirty!" Aqua exclaimed before she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his lips gently.
Varian smiled as he kissed her back, wrapping his arms around her waist.
Ruddiger climbed up Varian's back and chittered happily. Varian pulled away before kissing Aqua on the forehead.
"You need to go to bed, Varian. You've been staying up all night and it's not healthy," Aqua said as she rested her head on his chest.
"Okay... fine... but only because I could do with some snuggles," Varian agreed before scooping her up which made her laugh a little.
Varian took her to his room and she got into her nightgown while he put on his pajamas before crawling into bed. Aqua snuggled up against him and rested her head on his chest as he laid on his back, his arms slipping around her waist. Ruddiger padded his way over and curled up on Varian, purring happily as Aqua put an arm around his furry body.
"Goodnight, cupcake," Varian tried and Aqua scrunched her nose.
"That's not it."
"I'll figure it out one day." Varian smiled and kept her close as she closed her eyes.
"I know you will." Aqua fell asleep with a smile on her face.
"Aquaria? Are you paying attention?"
Aquaria looked up immediately to see Elsa looking at here.
"Huh? Oh, um, sorry. I was just... I had a memory..." Aqua sighed softly and looked at the group. "What were you guys talking about?"
"Well, I asked if you are enjoying your time here. I mean, it's been a couple months," Anna said to which Aquaria hummed and nodded.
"Yeah, I'm enjoying it a lot. I just... you know... I miss Varian... I-I haven't been away from him this long since I was eight..." Aquaria played with her necklace.
"He gave you that necklace, didn't he?" Kristoff said and Anna nudged him but Aqua smiled a little.
"He did... he made it out of Aquarian which is an element he created and named after me. He spent a long time on it," Aqua said happily and Kristoff smiled.
"It's very pretty. I'm surprised the kid could afford to make that. I'm honestly more surprised that he even has the skills to make that," he said and Aqua nodded.
"Well, we use crystals and diamonds a lot for different projects. He's actually pretty good at cutting jewels."
"He sounds so nice! I wish I could meet him!" Olaf was lying on his stomach as he looked up at Aqua with a childish glow in his eyes as he kicked his little legs up and down.
"He's usually really sweet. I finally got to be with him and now everything is ruined..." Aquaria sighed softly.
"It's gonna be okay, Aquaria. I promise," Elsa said before they all hugged the young princess tight.

Varian ran his fingers through Ruddiger's fur and sighed softly as his friend whined hungrily.
"So, do you think your girlfriend is ever gonna come back down to visit you?" Andrew asked from his cot and Varian huffed.
"Aquaria is not my girlfriend. She was, but she's not anymore," he said through clenched teeth.
Truth be told, Varian had expected Aquaria to come back down and try to talk to him. He wanted to see her again. He missed her smile, her laugh, the way she would always take away his tools and goggles to get him to go to bed, the feeling of snuggling with her, hearing her voice, singing with her, and just having her by his side. He truly wanted to take back what he had said to her, but he scolded himself for thinking that.
"Well, maybe she will be your girlfriend again once we get out of here and take over Corona." Andrew smirked and looked at the young boy.
"Take over Corona? You never mentioned that," Varian said with a raised eyebrow, intrigued by that plan.
"Didn't I?" Andrew laughed a little.
Ruddiger ducked his head down, wanting Aquaria to come back and take him home.

Aquaria held onto Sven's fur and giggled as they sped through the forest.
"Oo! Here, Sven! This is absolutely beautiful!" Aqua exclaimed as they stopped in a clearing.
Aquaria slid off his back and ran into the center of the clearing. She laid down and looked up at the night sky. It reminded her of when Varian asked her to be his girlfriend. Sven laid himself beside the princess happily.
As they looked at the starry sky, Aqua saw a shooting star zip across the vast blue.
"Make a wish, Sven!"
Sven closed his eyes and Aqua did the same.
'I wish that I will get Varian back soon. I love him so much,' Aquaria wished silently.
She looked over at Sven and smiled before saying, "I know what you wished for."
She pulled a bundle of carrots out of her satchel and laughed a little as she gave Sven the carrots.
Sven happily ate the treat he was given and Aquaria pulled out an apple. As she bit into the bright red apple, she thought of Ruddiger.
"I'm sure you and Ruddiger would've made great friends, Sven," she said softly and smiled a little as she thought about snuggling with Ruddiger.
She missed stroking his soft fur as he curled up in her lap, munching on an apple.
Aqua wiped away a few tears and sighed softly.
After finishing her apple, Aquaria looked at Sven and murmured, "we should get back to the castle, buddy."
Sven got up and Aquaria climbed onto his back.
They took off back to the castle to go to bed.
Once Aquaria was lying in bed, she looked at the painting on her nightstand.
"Goodnight, Varian. Goodnight, Ruddiger. I miss you both so much," she murmured as she gently touched the glass that protected the painting.
She blinked back tears, but a few made their way down her cheeks. She would give anything to still be with Varian.
She knew that she was truly in love with Varian. No one could tell her that she was too young to understand what love truly is. She understood completely because she couldn't stop thinking about Varian, she felt lost without him, and even though it hurt to remember the amazing times they had together, it still made her happy. He made her feel so special and she didn't know what to do with herself now that he was gone. She needed him and it was wearing her down each and every day.
