Aquaria was getting ready to meet Varian to watch the Empyrean Shower.

She had put on her dress from Anna and Elsa, smiling as she looked in the mirror. She had gotten a letter from him telling her to pack for an overnight trip since they were apparently going out of Old Corona so she packed a change of clothes, her scarf, some snacks, a cup, a blanket, a small pillow, and some other daily necessities.

She walked out of her room and as she made her way to the exit, she saw Eugene.

"Are you sure you have everything?" Eugene joked when he saw her.

"Haha, Eugene. I'm just being prepared. Varian and I are gonna camp out for the night," Aqua beamed and Eugene grinned.

"Good luck, Squirt. I just know you two are gonna have a magical time during the shower tonight. I'm sure Varian has some tricks up his sleeve," he said with a little smirk, knowing Varian's plan.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Aqua raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, nothing. Just that he's all sciencey and stuff. He's probably got a few tricks for the shower. Now go on, Squirt. Have fun. I'm gonna head to pack up with Lance. See ya, princess," Eugene said before he ran off, knowing he would spill everything if he kept talking.

Aqua hummed and saw her parents.

"I'm leaving now. I'll see you guys tomorrow," she said as she hugged them. "I hope you have fun with Rapunzel and Aunt Willow."

Arianna grumbled, having wanted it to be just her and Rapunzel. "I'll try my best. Have fun with Varian."

"Stay safe, dear," Frederic said as he smiled at her.

"I will. I love you guys!" She waved as she walked to the exit.

"We love you too!" Arianna waved back with a smile before the üümlaut shook its rattle which was obnoxiously loud.

She found Max and smiled brightly. "Max! Do you think you could take me to Varian's house? I wanna meet with him as quickly as possible so we can go to the spot we're camping at and set up before the shower."

Max nodded his head slightly and let her on his back before he quickly ran off to take Aquaria to Old Corona.

She saw the rocks and frowned as she realized that they had spread from where she and Varian found them a while ago.

Max dropped her off at Varian's house and then ran back to the island.

Aqua walked inside and saw Varian putting a few things into a bag at the kitchen table. He looked over, having her the door open, and he smiled brightly.

"Aqua! I've missed you!" He said happily, having not seen her since the Expo since she was busy, but it made him happy that she still sent him letters in that time.

"And I've missed you! Are you ready to go?" She asked excitedly.

"Yeah! Let me just go say goodbye to my dad," Varian said as he closed his bag before running to tell his dad that he was leaving.

After walking through the woods for a while, Varian was getting so nervous. He was really excited to ask Aqua to be his girlfriend, but he was also really nervous.

"Where are we going exactly?" Aqua asked him curiously.

"A place my dad showed me. He said it's the perfect place to watch the shower," Varian said as he kept walking with her. "It's not much farther."

Once they got to the clearing where Varian was taking her to, Aqua gasped. It was absolutely beautiful. There was a cliff with a gorgeous view and the trees around the clearing still had flowers blossoming. Flowers and berry bushes lined the clearing and there was a perfect view of the sun starting to set.

"Wow... th-this is such an amazing view..." Aqua murmured in awe as she turned to look at him.

"You should see it from my perspective," he whispered with a smile as he looked at her.

"What did you say?" Aqua hadn't quite heard what he had said.

"I said, it's beautiful, isn't it?" Varian blushed as he rubbed his neck.

"It really is," she replied with a nod.

"Shall we get set up?" Varian put his bag down that had a tent for them.

"Yeah, let's do it," she said with a bright smile.

They set up the tent together in just a few minutes. Aqua put her blanket and pillow inside next to Varian's. There wasn't much space, but just enough for their stuff to be separated.

"I brought snacks," Varian said as he pulled out what he had brought.

"Me too," Aqua said with a giggle as she pulled out the food she had brought.

"Great minds think alike." Varian smiled and she nodded.

The sun was finally set and the stars were shining brightly in the sky.

"Come on! The shower's gonna start soon!" Aqua got out of the tent with the food and went to sit on the large blanket Varian had brought for them to sit on during the Empyrean Shower.

Varian breathed deeply and looked at her as she sat down. He started muttering to himself, "you've got this, Varian... just stay calm... don't mess up... if she says no, it's not the end of the world but you won't know her answer if you never ask..."

"Varian! You're gonna miss it!"

"Coming!" He quickly left the tent and joined her on the blanket. She smiled as she leaned against him and rested her head on his shoulder.

Varian smiled at her and leaned his head on hers gently.

"Don't forget to make a wish," Aqua said softly.

The sky lit up as the meteor shower started. Aqua watched the sky in awe as Varian put an arm around her.

The two of them both made their wish silently as they stared at the sky.

Varian glanced at her and smiled warmly. She looked up at him as she lifted her head from his shoulder, having felt his gaze.

"What did you wish for?" He asked curiously and she blushed as they turned to face each other.

"That I would never lose you... I know it's a pointless wish since you always say that we'll always be together, but I just... you mean so much more to me than you'll ever know... I don't know what I would do if anything happened to you or if you didn't want to be my friend anymore..." She looked at the ground but Varian couldn't look away from her.

He gently made her look at him and moved some hair out of her face. "It's not a pointless wish. I always wish that you'll be by my side forever, but what I wished for tonight..." He looked into her eyes, desperately trying to find the right words to say, but he was so nervous that this would go wrong.

Aqua looked at him, wanting to know what he was gonna say. She was curious as to what he wished for.

"Aqua, I-"

He had his eyes locked with hers. He just followed his instincts...

Varian leaned forward and pressed his lips to hers, taking her by surprise. She immediately kissed him back, but as she went to put a hand on his cheek, he pulled away.

He had panicked as he thought about what she would say about the kiss if she didn't like it. He pictured her rejecting him and their friendship becoming weak. He didn't know if she would still want to come and see him after she rejected him. All these thoughts scared him.

He quickly backed away from her which made her think she did something wrong.

"Varian, I-"

"I-I am so sorry... I shouldn't have done that... it was a stupid wish..." Varian got up quickly, not caring that the shower wasn't over. His heart hurt so much and he felt like a failure.

He thought for sure she didn't like it. How could she have feelings for him? Especially after the Expo. He had ditched her and made her feel unwanted. She was definitely going to reject him. How was he supposed to look at her ever again without hurting? He didn't even want to think about how she would look at him now. He stole her first kiss without asking and their friendship would become so awkward now. He stared at the ground as he walked towards the tent.

"Varian, wait!" Aqua quickly stood and stopped him. She grabbed his shirt and pulled him into a kiss, not wanting him to think it was stupid.

He quickly kissed her back and wrapped an arm around her waist while he used his other hand to caress her cheek gently. She wrapped her arms around his neck as they kissed.

They meteors lit up the sky as the two shared the special moment.
