Okay... I'm sorry this is late. I want to finish this before I write my finals so I will probably be updating as frequently as I can so that I can  finish this before the end of the month.

When I'm done, I'll edit it from the beginning, making some adjustments here and there while I work on the second book... Yes the second book in the The Age of Elementals series ;)

Anyway.. Here is Chapter 20

"Is everything okay?" Paul said busting through the door. Kyle growled at him and I gave him a pointed look. Since Rose wasn't here I had could talk some sense into him. Even if she wasn't here I did still feel my feet pinned down on the bed.

"Nothing, I was just having a bad dream and Kyle was just checking if I was okay" it wasn't a lie, I had been having a very bad dream.

Paul moved towards my bed and I froze, oblivious to my reaction he came and set next to me on my bed, embracing me in a hug causing Kyle to slam the door behind him.

"I'm sorry I haven't been around most of the time but I promise its all going to change" he whispered in my ear

"Its okay" I said resisting the edge to shudder

"I can sleep with you if it will help you sleep"

"No" I said too quickly "I mean I just need to be alone for now" I covered up

"Sure no problem, just shout if you need me" He said getting up and giving me a peck in the lips"Goodnight"

"Goodnight" When he left I released a breath I didn't know I was holding.

After a few moments of deep breaths Rose appeared on the foot of my bed where she had been a while ago

"I'm sorry" she said removing her hands on my feet and that's when I realized I was crying. She came over and set next to me wiping some of my tears with her hands while I rest my head on her shoulder.

"But why?" I asked no one in particular

"I'm still trying to put the pieces together myself. I've been working on removing that spell since it was cast on Ethan and your family and its only now I had a breakthrough" She explained. She cupped my cheeks and looked me in the eye.

"We will figure this all out okay? All I want is for you to pretend that you don't know anything, go on as if everything is normal. When it is time to strike, we will do it, just be patient" She instructed. I just nodded my head against her shoulder, sniffling.

"Go to sleep, Its only 1am. When you wake up I will be waiting together with everyone who loves you" She said kissing my forehead and disappearing.

I didn't know if ever I will fall asleep, I kept tossing and turning but I wasn't thinking about the betrayal I felt, I was just thinking about a certain blond with sea blue eyes. Kyle.

"Its eleven already, I think we should wake her up" I heard hushed voices in my room

"No, we should let her sleep" I heard Ethan whisper to whoever was in the room

"Don't you want answers?" The other voice asked

"I do but remember this is harder for her" Ethan whispered back. I opened my eyes slightly and found Jane, Zoe and Ethan standing by my window looking at the view outside with their backs on me.

"I'm giving her two minutes and I'm waking her up" Jane threatened. Ethan was about to say something when I decided to join the party

"I'm awake now" They jumped when they heard my voice and the girls ran over to my bed

"Are you okay?" Jane asked

"Can I kill them?" Zoe asked

"I swear I'm going to kill the both of them" Ethan vowed. They kept on going like I wasn't really in the room until I couldn't take it anymore.

"Shut up, all of you" I snapped at them" No one is killing anyone, well at least not yet and yes I'm okay" They all nodded their head except Zoe.

"Oh c'mon" She whined. I shot her a glare and she put her hands up in mock surrender

"Okay, but as soon as you give a go ahead I'm going for Lisa. I always had an urge to snap her neck" She said with a sigh

"Live Paul to me" Ethan said

"You guys have to remember whats important is that we have to behave like everything is still okay" I told them

"Yeah we know"

"Good now get out of my room I need to take a shower" They all left but not before assuring me that they will fight side by side with me and I appreciated their support.

Getting out of bed, I went to my bathroom and took a shower. It helped a lot. When I was done, I settled into a pair of black jeans and a sweater running downstairs to get my breakfast.

When I got downstairs, I found Lisa and Paul eating together but I didn't miss the way they tensed up when they saw me. Deciding to make them pay a little for what they did, I went over to Paul and set on his lap kissing him even though it grossed me up and I felt like throwing up.

"Hey you" I said when I pulled apart stealing glances towards Lisa who was clenching her fists

"Hey, you look better today" Paul smiled but it did not reach his eyes

"Its because I'm in your arms now" I said kissing him again. Lisa dropped her utensils causing them to shatter on her plate, making me jump slightly. She got off the chair and slammed the front door on her way out. Just how I liked it.

"Is she okay?" I asked Paul faking concern

"She'll be okay" I'm sure she will. I get off his lap and sit on the chair next to him just as Ethan was walking in.

"Hey, lets go for a run" He says coming over to me and ignoring Paul

"Actually, I was wondering if we can go to lunch later?" Paul asked me

"Okay we'll have late lunch around three when I come back" He looks hesitant but nods his head anyway.

Going for a run in wolf form was like taking a bubble bath after a very long day, it was amazing. Ethan and I ran for a while, with our clothes in our mouth. Until we came to the clearing, changing back into human form and putting our clothes on.

"That was amazing" He said falling to the ground

"Yeah, it was" I said smiling. Through all the bullshit that was happening in my life, I was happy for the family I got, Ethan was the best.

"James had a heart attack" I froze

"Wait, James who?" I asked shocked

"Your grandfather"

"How? When? Why?"

"He got to upset when he found out about Paul and his scheming, he was more like a son to him" I swear If James dies because of this, I will kill Paul and Lisa with my own hands

"Where is he now?"

"I'm sure you haven't even noticed but Kyle and Brian took him to Dragon City but they promised to be back by the end of today" Talk about oblivious. It never really occurred to me that Kyle had left, I really hope he was going to come back soon.

"This is bad" I whined putting my head on his shoulder, James couldn't die. He's the only form of a parent I have left.

"He'll be fine, I promise you" he said kissing my head.

"How are you holding up?" He asks after some time

"I feel stupid and used" I tell him. Its true, I've never felt this cheated in my life

"You know, this explains why Lisa never wanted to have sex with me in the first place. She always made an excuse about waiting for marriage and staff" He says bitterly "and you know what the messed up part is, I don't think I will ever trust anyone, ever." For the first time I see how much this has hurt him. 

He has lost someone who he thought was his mate, I understood the feeling. It was like they've punched a hole in your heart. I have Kyle, although I'm not sure if he really is my mate but I had him to lean on while he had nothing. He had to start all over again and that alone was hurting him.

"I don't know anything but I'm sure you will find the right girl for you"

"I thought she was the right girl for me. How will I know that the next on is not some witch's spell" He says running his hand through his hair

"You will know" a familiar voice from behind us says. Rose.

"It will be different from what you first felt with Lisa" she says coming to stand in front of us.

"You like scaring the living shit out us don't you?" Ethan asks narrowing his eyes at Rose. at least I'm not the only one who thinks that

"Yes, Its fun" She shrugs her shoulders, smiling.

"I have a plan for your escape" Rose began"Your grandfather went to dragon city for reason" I  exchanged glances with Ethan

"You will live this place with the excuse that you want to go see your grandfather and you will refuse any company saying you want to be alone" she continues bringing our eyes back to her

"When you're on the other side of the world, no one will touch you"

"That should be easy" It sounds easy

After the last instructions, Rose lives me and Ethan to take run and play around while bonding. If it wasn't for my date with Paul, I would have stayed longer.

When I got back to the house, I went straight to my room to get ready for the date I had with Paul, when I was done I went to his room and knocked.

"Hey, you ready?" I asked as soon as he opened the door

"Yep, let me grab my jacket I'll meet you downstairs" He said. I nodded once and left.

"If anything happens just mind link me I'll come running" Ethan whispered to me as soon as I got the kitchen

"You talk as if I'm going away with him, its just a date" I whisper back

"I just don't trust him okay" Paul chooses that moment to walk in on us

"Who don't you trust?" he asks Ethan

"Kyle" he replies and I shoot him a glare which earns me a shrug from him

"Okay can we go" Paul asks taking my hand in his

'Be careful' I hear Ethan in my mind, I flash him a smile and nod my heard

Paul and I went to the same dinner as last time, It was a few miles away from the mansion. Throughout the whole ride, we had been silent and it wasn't the normal comforting silence, it was the uncomfortable silence and to top it all, I had bad feeling about where we were going right now. What actually scared me the most is that it was the same one I felt the night my adoptive parents where murdered. When we got to the dinner the feeling intensified and I knew better than to ignore my gut feeling, so I came with an excuse before we got inside.

"I think I'm not feeling well. Cant we go back and order out" I tried grimacing

"Lets get some water inside and order and then we can go back" I hesitate for a bit but nod and follow him inside.

The diner is literally empty except for the guy at the counter who looks like he's minutes away from pissing himself. We walk up to the counter and in his eyes I see fear, my gut feeling is screaming for me to run away because something sinister is coming but I cant do that without evoking suspicion from Paul so I just go with the flow.

"Why is it so empty?" I ask Paul

"I wondering the same thing" He says avoiding eye contact with me. I can see alarms flashing in my mind but how do I escape without any suspicions.

"I need some fresh air, let me just go wait outside?" I tell him not even waiting for his answer. Before I even move ten feet away from him, I see something that stops me in my tracks. There by the door is the witch Celeste and Dmitri looking at me with smug faces. I try mind linking Ethan but it doesn't work.

"Don't try it darling it wont work" Celeste says to me and turns  to Paul "You did well son all that's left to do is take the blood and kill her or do you want Dmitri to do it?" she asks Paul. Turning my head to him he looks at me with so much fire that I just want to struggle him

"I'll do it myself" he confirmed still looking at me" You and your family thought I will never know that you know that this is all a lie and you actually thought that I will just watch you go without getting my revenge? That's where you're wrong princesses, I'm going to make you feel the pain I felt" He said walking towards me

"You are going to pay for this" I threatened him but he came on matching towards me

"You know I was really starting to like you" He said coming closer. Before I can even move, something hard smacked on my head and I fell to the ground, I saw boots coming around to my face before the person kneeled down to my level

"That throne belongs to me. I am the rightful Queen and if you think for a second you are going to take that from me then you are crazier than I thought" I couldn't make out the face, my eyes were blurry. When the dizziness stopped and I was able to for focus, my eyes popped out of their sockets and I gasped loudly causing her to smirk at me and stand up. I blinked away the tears that were in my eyes.

"You are too weak, I wonder what they see in you" she said to me

"How can-" before I can even finish she kicks me hard on my head and I'm sent into darkness
