Chapter 33: Taken and Almost Sold
January 1st (Hearthome City, Sinnoh)
(May's POV)
I woke up the next morning snuggled against something warm. After blinking the sleep out of my eyes, I noticed that it was Drew I was next to. After unwrapping myself from him, I looked and saw that this was not the room I fell asleep in with Dawn nowhere to be seen.
"Well, this ought to be an interesting story to hear," I mumbled tiredly as I sat up and stretched.
I found my bag and changed clothes. I then wrote a quick note to Drew so he won't panic when he woke up, grabbed my compowder, and left the room. I found somewhere private and called Clair to give her an update.
"This is serious, Cynthia is becoming concerned while all these missing girls and women. We can't avoid leaving this on the back burner anymore," Clair said concerned.
"Do you want me to investigate?" I asked.
"No, we'll get some other agents to it. I don't want you and the other girls near this, it's too risky."
"The guys would agree," I sighed.
"Exactly. At this point, you and the others should enjoy the remainder of your break."
"Alright."
"Take care."
Clair then hung up causing me to sigh. As much as I wanted to help, I knew Drew would be against it. If I snuck behind his back....I didn't want to think about it. With all of the drama that occurred a few months ago, I didn't want to repeat it. Plus the fact that I would soon be starting chemo or something of the sort sometime next week, I didn't want to put too much stress on me.
I looked at the clock and saw that it was 10:30 with no sign of anyone waking up. What happened last night where I wake up in a different room and everyone is still sleeping?
I sighed deeply as I walked into the dining area to grab something to eat. After finishing, I grabbed some food for Drew and went back up.
When I entered the room, Drew looked at me in panic then sudden relief before attacking me with a hug.
"Missed you to babe," I teased as I attempted to hug him back.
After a minute, I let go, but Drew still held me close, "Babe, you okay?" I asked starting to become concerned.
"I thought he took you again," he murmured into my hair.
"Who? Drew, what's going on? Why did I wake up in a different room?" I asked.
"I don't know," Drew said as I felt him starting to shake.
"You need to sit down and eat something before you pass out," I said causing him to do as I said and sit at the small table in the room as I set the food down.
After letting him eat a couple of bites, I asked again what happened.
"I don't know. Paul and I were sleeping when we heard Leaf scream from the hall. When we rushed out, we saw a guy carrying you and Dawn paralyzed on the floor. We got you back, but the guy escaped on a Salamance," Drew frowned.
"Is Dawn okay? Where is she?" I asked.
"We took Dawn back to your room. Leaf figured that Cherri berries would help cancel the paralysis," Drew said before giving a small grin. "They worked."
I gave a soft chuckle, "I bet Dawn appreciated that."
"Oh yea, she sat straight up complaining it was hot and Piplup came out of his pokeball and doused her with Hydropump."
I laughed, "Gotta love those two, life is never boring with them."
Drew then became solemn, "Anyway, we decided to get new rooms since this guy knew where we were and we paired off in couples because they only had single double beds left and we wanted to make sure you girls had protection."
I sighed, "Well that explains waking up in a different room with you here rather than Dawn."
"You feeling okay?"
I nodded, "I'm fine, I don't feel any affects from the tranquilizer."
I saw Drew's shoulders relax as he sighed in relief, "Thank Mew," he murmured.
I reached across the table and covered his free hand with mine.
As we were about to kiss, my compowder went off. I pulled it out seeing that the girls and I had a surveillance task that would take a few days and that more details would follow up shortly.
I sighed, "Just when you think we can catch a break."
Drew frowned, "What's up?"
"The girls and I have a surveillance mission that's gonna last a few days," I explained.
"That doesn't make any sense. What happened to Clair giving you off?"
I shrugged, "I don't know, but it can't be helped. Besides, Clair's stressed out with this human trafficking business and maybe she doesn't have anyone else to do it."
Drew shook his head and I could tell he still didn't want me to go.
"Hey, everything will be okay. I promise," I said as I sealed it with a kiss. "Now finish eating before it gets cold."
I then sent a message to the girls explaining the mission we were given and that they should get ready to leave in 30 mins. While Drew finished eating, I packed some stuff in a small bag. After we were both done, we left for the caf where we were supposed to meet up with everyone else. We grabbed a table and waited for everyone else to show up.
"I just hope that this mission doesn't take too long," I frowned in thought. "I was hoping to not have to do anything stressful before chemo."
"Babe, you okay?" Drew asked as he passed a steaming mug in front of me.
"Yea, just slightly peeved that the girls and I have to be called away," I said slightly lying as I took a sip of my drink.
I gave a small smile at the taste and felt it warm me up, Drew knew me well.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Leaf and Gary enter the caf.
"I heard you guys had a lot of fun last night," I said with slight sarcasm as they walked up to our table.
"Yeah, right," Leaf retorted before frowning. "You okay?"
I nodded, "I don't feel the effects of the traq darts at all."
I saw her shoulders relax, "That's good, hopefully Dawn can say the same."
"You can ask her yourself," I said as I gestured for her to turn around.
She did as everyone else came in and walked up to us.
"So what are we doing for this mission, you didn't really give us any details?" Misty asked.
"Grab some food first and I'll repeat what the message said."
After everyone grabbed something to eat, I repeated the message.
"So......all we have to do is some surveillance for the next few days of the address given?" Dawn clarified.
"That's pretty much it."
Drew frowned, "I don't like it. The message seems weird to me."
I frowned in return, "It's no different than the mission messages we typically get."
"I don't know. Just a gut feeling I guess."
I took his hand, "Babe, if you don't want me to go I won't."
He shook his head with a sad smile, "No, it's probably nothing. I'm just feeling off with what happened last night."
I gave a sympathetic smile in return before kissing his cheek, "I have a feeling this won't be long. Three days tops. So enjoy the orange islands for the remainder of break and we'll meet you there."
"While the girls are away, we can look more into who tried to kidnap May," Ash added.
Gary groaned, "That's gonna be like trying to find a needle in a haystack."
"He couldn't have just disappeared into thin air," Ash pointed out.
"Regardless, have some fun while we're gone," Dawn said as the girls and I kissed our respective other's cheek and left for the coordinates given in the message.

January 4th (Unnamed Island, Orange Islands)
(Drew's POV)
"Dude, you have been paced for the last 30 minutes. Quit it before you destroy the beach," Gary said tiredly.
"Does it not bother you we haven't heard anything in the past 3 days," I retorted.
"Yes, but that comes with the job," Gary retorted. "Look, the mission probably got more complicated than they thought and they have to observe a little longer, I don't know."
"I'm sure they're fine Drew, they have proven time and time again that they can defend themselves fairly well, considering your girlfriend is the Guardian of Arceus," Ash added.
I sighed heavily as I collapsed on my beach lounge chair between Gary and Paul, "I still can't help but be concerned."
"Then think of something else. We're on a frickin' gorgeous beach with no one around, use that as inspiration for contest moves or somethin'," Gary said tiredly.
"And don't try to think of the guy who tried to take May," Paul said inserting himself into the conversation. "We've looked at everyone possible angle in trying to find the guy and we reached a number of dead ends."
"Besides, the girls will probably show up today or tomorrow. If not, then we'll see them for classes since they start in few days," Ash said ending the discussion.
I sighed again as I lay down and closed my eyes. I knew that May was more than capable of taking care of herself, but there was a gnawing feeling that was telling me that something was not right.
I then heard a beep from my wallet causing me to sit bolt upright, I quickly grabbed it and saw a new message from May.
"Finally," I muttered as I opened the message.
"Was it from May?" Ash asked taking interest.
"Yeah," I said as I read the message aloud. "Surveillance is taking longer than expected. We'll meet you back at school for classes."
"See, what did I tell you," Gary said with an underlying tone of 'I-told-you-so'.
I typed a response before I closed my wallet and put it away before lying back down.
"I know I should feel relieved by May's message, but why do I still have the feeling that something isn't right."

(May's POV)
I cringed as I heard girl's screaming in pain.
"Those bastards," Leaf seethed.
The girl who screamed was sobbing as she was brought back to the "cells".
"Next time you shouldn't run away if you know what's good for you," a voice sneered as the door rattled and locked.
"You bastards won't get away with this!" Misty shouted.
"Quiet tomboy bitch or you're next," the voice threatened.
"Try me," she snapped.
"Mind your manners whore, you don't have a pretty face as your friends so you might be the next 'meal' for someone if you don't shut up."
"Misty, please stop," Dawn begged.
"Listen to your friend girly."
"Eh, why do you tell them that," a voice whined. "Those with are so much more fun to break their fighting spirit when we have fun with them."
I shivered. I felt useless as my powers were capped off with inhibitors. They did their research making this a much more deadly game. Being trapped and caged here was slowly starting to infest my brain and I could tell it was started to get to the others, but Misty kept fighting verbally, causing her to be a source of attention to the men who kidnapped us.
I tried to pull the inhibitors off as the men left, but they released a small shock in warning, causing me to groan slightly from the pain.
"Don't hurt yourself trying to get those things off May. The longer we play quiet, the longer it gives a chance for the guys to try and find us," Dawn whispered.
"The hell we do that," Misty hissed. "They have no clue that something is wrong. We have to try and escape."
"How?" Leaf hissed. "May's hands are tied so we can't use her powers to escape, let alone investigate where we are and plan an escape route."
Misty grumbled under her breath as the door opened up and I heard typing. The curtain in front of my wired cage was removed to show a well-dressed man.
"Thanks for the use of your device," he grinned egotistically as he showed my compowder.
I kept a straight face causing him to grin even bigger when he showed me the screen causing my eyes to shrink slightly in seeing that he texted Drew. The screen then lit up showing me a new message from him.
The man took my compowder back and tapped to open the message, "Aw, how sweet. He wrote back 'to stay safe and that he loves you'. Too bad for you you'll never see him again."
"What are you talking about jerk!" Misty shouted.
"I'm saying I texted your friend saying your 'mission' is longer than planned meaning they have no reason to suspect you were taken. Now no one will save you," the guy said smugly before laughing and bring the curtain down before leaving the room.
"The guys will find us, they'll figure it out," Dawn said though slightly wavered.
I made no response as a tear fell down my face. I wasn't sure anymore and I had no idea how to get out of this.

January 8th (Lilycove City, Hoenn)
(Drew's POV)
"That's it, I'm calling Clair," I said I as I reached for my wallet.
It was now the end of first day back for classes and the girls still had not come back, let alone leave a message.
"I'll try and track their compowders," Gary said frowning.
"Hello Drew," Clair answered.
"Clair, where did you send the girls for their surveillance mission?" I asked.
She frowned, "I haven't messaged the girls at all about any mission."
I felt my stomach drop, "The girls compowders are offline, I can't track them anywhere," Gary said concerned.
"Drew, what's going on?" Clair demanded.
"I'll call you back," I said quickly and shut my wallet.
"What do you mean you can't track them?" Paul frowned.
"Just that," Gary said slightly frustrated as he inputted the girls numbers again only for the computer screen to blink "not found".
"Try their last known location," I suggested.
Gary typed on the keyboard and brought up the coordinates of an office building in Celestic Town.
The computer then lit up to show an incoming call from Clair.
"Boys, what in the world is going on?" she demanded.
"The girls are missing on a 'supposed' mission they received a week ago", I summarized.
"Well I never sent a message for a surveillance mission," she said frowning. "We'll discuss this at headquarters."
Suddenly a Gallade appeared and teleported us, "Now tell me everything that has happened since New Year's," she said as Lance appeared.
After explaining everything that happened and what we could figure out, both Lance and Clair frowned.
"This isn't good, I'm wondering if the attempted kidnapping and actually kidnapping are connected," Clair wondered aloud.
"We can't locate the girls' coordinates, but we looked at their history of where they were last pinged," Gary explained.
"Look into it," Lance said. "We'll start investigating more into the attempted kidnapping."
We nodded and left to suit up. Shortly after, we left for the given coordinates.
"Okay, this building looks too decent to be suspicious," Ash observed when we arrived.
"Well, let's split up and look around," I suggested.
The others nodded and we went in at different entry points.
"You guys finding anything?" I asked after 30 mins into searching.
"Nothing."
"Bunkus."
"What they said."
"Drew, can you sense their auras at all?" Paul asked.
"Give me a sec," I said as I focused my energy.
"No," I answered after a minute. "No one is here, but us."
"Hey, I think I found something," Ash called.
"We'll be there in a sec," Gary answered as we made our way to Ash's position.
"What did you find?" Paul asked when we found Ash.
Ash turned around with the girls' bags from when we last saw them.
"Well, this is where they were kidnapped," I frowned.
Paul then brought out his wallet to call Clair to send teams to search the building for forensic evidence.
"We can't do that," Clair said with a frown.
"Why not?" Ash asked angrily.
"We need a search warrant," I said tiredly.
"So let's get one," he snapped.
"Not that simple Ashy-boy, we need probably cause to do that and we can't count the bags as evidence because we broke in," Gary said angrily.
"Who owns the building?" I asked.
Clair started typing, "It's owned by Carter Rhodes."
"Wait a minute, the entrepreneur?" I asked.
"You know him?" Gary asked.
I shook my head, "I've only heard of him. Everyone has good things to say about him and he gives to tons of charities, but Dad was always skeptic of him?"
"Why?" Ash asked confused.
"I don't know," I frowned.
"We'll call him in the morning and question him. In the meantime, go back to school," Clair said before signing off.
"So what, we just sit here?" Ash demanded angrily.
"We don't have anything else to go on," Gary retorted.
"Well let's scan some stuff near where the girls' bags were, maybe it'll give us a forensic clue," I said tiredly as I pulled my wallet out.
I then walked closer and began scanning the area only for nothing to be found.
"It was worth a try, but we'll have to wait and see if Clair finds out anything tomorrow," I said as we boarded a plane Clair sent to head back to school.
"What about your aura connection with May or finding her in the dream world?" Paul asked.
"I don't know, it normally works when May is nearby."
"Try it, we'll running out of time and options," Ash said worried.
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and focused my energy, but felt nothing after a while.
I sighed and shook my head causing the guys to sigh as well.
After reaching school and splitting for the night, I lay on my bed holding the pocket watch May gave me for our anniversary.
Somehow I must have fallen asleep because I found myself in a foggy area and hear someone faintly call my name.
"Drew....Drew!"
I then ran toward the voice as I recognized the caller.
"May!"
I tried to run further, but it felt like I hit an electric fence.
"Ah!" I cried in pain.
"Drew, don't come closer. I don't know how, but the inhibitors I am wearing are weak enough to allow this communication, but still have bad punishment in effect!"
"Where are you? Are you okay?"
"Yes, we're all fine for now and I have no idea in where we are. Babe, I don't know how to get us out of this!" May cried as her voice started to fade out. "Find.....me.....please!"
"May!" I yelled as I tried to push through the barrier, but got shocked again.
I then sat bolt upright panting and sweating trying to process what just happened.
Roserade then appeared out of her pokeball, "Rose?" she asked concerned.
"I'll be okay Roserade," I panted. "I found May."
"Rose roserade?!" she asked.
"I don't know where she is, but she's helpless and in a lot of trouble," I said sadly.
"Roserade?"
"I won't tell them til later, it won't do any good to tell them now."
I then returned her to her pokeball and tried to go back to sleep. Unfortunately, my mind had other ideas and I continued to toss and turn for the remainder of the night til my alarm went off.
After dragging myself up and getting dressed, I made my way downstairs to find the guys also looking like they didn't get much sleep.
"Looks you had gotten as much sleep as we did," Gary commented.
"I probably got less," I said tiredly as I sat on the couch and rubbed my face. "I somehow got into contact with May while sleeping."
That woke the guys up.
"What did she say? Are they alright? Did they say where they were being held?"
"Hey!" I shouted getting them to shut up.
"They are fine at the moment, I don't know where they are, and they are in really heavy trouble because May's powers have been blocked with inhibitors," I explained.
Ash started walking to the main computer with Pikachu scampering behind him, "We have to call Clair and see if she found anything."
"There's no point, she probably hasn't found anything yet," Gary retorted.
"So we just sit on our hands and wait?!" Ash shouted angrily.
"We don't have a choice, we have nothing to go on," Gary argued.
"Come on, we need to head to class or we're gonna be late," I said tiredly as I grabbed a granola bar from the kitchen.
We were leaving the yard when all of a sudden Misty appeared barely clothed as well as bloodied and bruised.
"Misty!" Ash yelled as he knelt down next to her and Pikachu followed suit.
"She's needs a hospital," Paul said as Ash took off his jacket and put it over her.
I pulled out my wallet and called Clair, "Clair, Misty teleported right in front of us, she needs a hospital stat!"
"We'll treat her here, help will be there in a few seconds," she said before her face disappeared.
Five seconds later, a Gallade showed up with two paramedics and Misty quickly looked over before lifted onto a stretcher. Gallade then teleported all of us to PHPA with the paramedics taking Misty away as soon as we hit solid ground.
"What happened?" Clair asked walking up to us.
"We have no fucking clue, what the fuck did they do to her?" Ash demanded angrily.
"Ash, cal...." Clair started to say, but Paul put his hand out to get her to stop.
He was right, it wouldn't do any good to tell Ash to calm down after seeing Misty like that. No doubt we would be having the same rage if any of the other girls were in her condition.
"The hell will I calm down. They fucking beat her," Ash raged as he collapsed in a nearby chair covering his face with his hands while Pikachu nudged his leg.
"She's a tough cookie Ashy-boy, she'll pull through," Gary comforted as he placed a hand on Ash's shoulder.

(Misty's POV)
I felt myself in a hallucinated state of being half-in half-out as I heard warbled voices talking.
"She's dehydrated.......slightly malnourished...........bad abrasions," someone said. "Part.......skin.......burned badly."
"What...........caused?" someone else asked.
There were a few seconds of silence, "It would be..........opinion..........attempted..........ape."
"What!!" someone familiar shouted.
Ash.
"What do...........tests say?" the second someone asked.
"Came.........negative," the first someone said as someone held my hand. "If you need.............I'll be two rooms down."
"Thank you Dr. Schmitt," the second person said.
Clair.
"I have to go to the situation room and inform the champions, let me know as soon as you find anything."
Mew, how did I get here?
I let out a groan.
"Misty?" Ash asked.
I groaned again as my throat was too dry to speak anything. I tried to open my eyes to see bright light and blinked a few times to try and get my eyes into focus.
I looked to my right and saw Ash looking relieved with tears forming in his eyes.
"Ash.." I croaked. "Wat..."
He understood as I felt him try to guide a straw into my mouth. After a few sips of water, I was a little more aware of my settings.
"What happened?" I asked groggily.
"We were hoping you could tell us that," Ash said as Pikachu landed on my bed.
My mind was foggy and I couldn't think straight. Glimpses of what happened in the past week zoomed in and out of my mind.
Pikachu lifted my hand with his hand and nuzzled it.
"I can't make heads or tails of anything, my mind is too foggy," I rasped.
I glanced at Drew to see him thinking and I could tell what his idea was.
"If it helps you find the others, I don't mind," I said tiredly.
"Are you sure?" he asked.
I nodded as I felt myself getting sleepy. A minute later, I felt people grabbing my hands and I suddenly appeared back when the girls and I were outside the building the coordinates gave us.
"Are you sure this is the place?" Leaf asked skeptically.
"Positive," May affirmed.
"Okay," Leaf said not buying it. "Misty, we'll take the bottom. You two can take the top."
"Works for me," Dawn agreed.
We then split into pairs and made our way inside.
We observed the place for 30 minutes and nothing really happened.
"How's it on your end?" Leaf asked.
"Boring," Dawn muttered. "I can't believe we had to give up a week at the beach for this."
"Same," I agreed as I went into an empty office.
"May?" Leaf asked as we had not heard a thing.
Suddenly there was a small gasp, "May?"
Then I felt something hit me and the lights went out.
Scenes from the past week then continued to play out til we reached where everything started to get hazy.
"Misty you can't do it, it's too dangerous," Leaf hissed as I continued to pick at the lock with a scrap piece of metal I was able to find.
"We have to try, we're running out of time and the guys have no idea where we are," I argued.
"Misty, these are some of the most dangerous people we've come across. I was able to make contact with Drew. Now, we have to wait and have faith," May pleaded.
"We don't have time, we'll be sold as virgin within the next day or so. I'm not gonna wait and let that happen," I snap as the lock clicked open.
"Misty, please!" Dawn cried.
I didn't listen as I shut my cage door and put the cloth down. I then crept to the door of the room where our cages were.
"Don't worry girls, I'll make sure we rescue everyone and shut these bastards down," I promised.
I tried the door to find it unlocked and poked my head out.
It was dark everywhere with the dim light of lanterns on the walls everyone so often.
"What is this place?" I muttered.
It looked like these were cave tunnels, but I had no idea where. I decided to go right and slowly crept through the tunnels. Every so often, I found more doors like the one I left through meaning more rooms of girls and I heard their soft sobs. I then reached a fork in the road with 4 paths to choose.
"Which one?" I muttered in frustration.
Suddenly an alarm sounded, "Someone escaped," a rough voiced called from on the tunnels.
If there was any time I felt scared to death, it was this moment. I had nothing on me to defend myself and all these guys were predators.
I quickly ran down path number 2 and ran as if my life depended on it. Unfortunately, I kept stumbling and falling due to lack of food and water making me feel tired and weak. Arceus must have been watching me because I picked the path that had a lot of light at the end of the tunnel.
Just as I was about to reach the end, I was grabbed from behind.
"Where do you think, you're going?" a voice sneered.
I felt a huge rush of panic, "NO! LET ME GO!" I screamed as I struggled to get loose.
I tried to fight back, but the dehydration and starvation were making my moves sluggish and not as effective.
"Sorry girly, but no girl ever escapes here," he said with an oily voice making me cringe.
I continued to scream as he pulled back into the darkness. I was crying in angish and in fear as I pulled further back into the hellhole.
I was then pulled back to my room where the guy with the salamance and two of his henchmen were standing.
"Well, if it isn't the tomboy whore," one sneered.
"Nice attempt in trying to escape, but we can't have that. Since, you will cause too much trouble for our clients, we'll have to break you first and mark to make sure you never forget," the guy with the salamance said.
The three then pushed me to the ground and my mind went numb in shock because I knew what was coming. I tried to fight them, but they started to hit me and scratch me as they were trying to get my clothes off.
"Misty!" the girls screamed as the salamance guy came up with a brander hot from the fire.
I felt myself faint from the heat and stress of the situation. I then woke up from reliving the nightmare with tears running down my face.
I then felt myself pulled into a tight hug as I sobbed my heart out.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
(Drew's POV)
After returning to reality from Misty's memories, she broke down in tears, not that any of us could blame her. Ash pulled her into a hug and the rest of us left the room, seething at the treatment she went through.
"Those bastards are going to pay," Gary snarled as we made our way to the situation room to report to Clair.
We walked into the room to find the champions along with Clair talking.
"Did you find anything?" Clair asked concerned.
"Once Misty woke up, she gave us permission to sift through her memories of her in captivity. From what we were able to observe, these group of bastards are looking of a system of caverns and caves somewhere," Paul reported.
"How's Misty?" Cynthia asked in concern.
We clenched our fists, "She's an emotional wreck, not that we can blame," I said causing Cynthia to nod sympathetically.
"So they are hiding the girls in caves, what else did you pull from her memories?" Lance asked.
"May's kidnapping was connected to this, but I do not think the guy with the salamance is the head of this operation," I said.
"For how the system works, girls who are pure are sold as virgin brides to the highest bidder while others are in the sex trade. If they try to escape and fail, they are branded near their ear as a warning to the others," Gary added harshly.
The champions looked shocked and angered at the information we just gave them.
"Also from what we could tell, the girls are being kept well to be sold so they are okay for the moment while Misty wasn't quite what they wanted hence their attempted gang rape and branding," I spat.
"For the girls' safety and all the others taken, we need to make this our first priority," Clair said breaking the silence. "For the caves and the tunnels, how many were there?"
"A lot more than the standard size," Paul answered. "It had multiple tunnels and rooms to hold the girls."
Clair imputed the data in to the computer to come up with a list of possible target places.
"It is also a high possibility that the caves are near a huge city because of clients," I added.
The results showed ten possible places, "Damn it, we don't have enough resources to search them all," Lance muttered.
I looked through the list, "It's Alamos Town."
Everyone looked at me, "How can you be so sure?" Lance frowned.
"Call me crazy, but I have a gut feeling about it and I feel if I was in that bastard's shoes, Alamos Town would fit the bill," I explained.
"We'll focus our plan of attack there. We'll strike in 3 hours," Clair decided.
We then left the room finding Ash walking towards us, "How's Misty?" Paul asked.
"She fell asleep after a while," Ash said sadly. "What happened in there?"
"We tried to where those bastards have set up shop and we got to a list of ten possibilities, but Drew claims that it's Alamos Town."
"As we've heard before from someone before, if we have a gut feeling about something, we should follow it through," I quoted.
"Well, I'm coming with you. They have hell to pay for what they did to Misty," Ash said angrily.
"Clair wants the strike to occur in less than three hours. We better suit up and fill our pokemon in on the situation," Gary said.
"We should tell the girls' pokemon too and bring them with, they'd want to get revenge as well," Ash added.
Within that time, we suited up and told all the pokemon. As expected, they were horrified and angered and wasted no time agreeing to fight with us. Before we were to teleport in the forest outside of Alamos Town, we stopped by Misty's room.
"Have you figured out where the girls are?" she asked anxiously as Ash came up to her and kissed her forehead.
"We have an idea of where they are and Clair's assembled a strike team," I explained.
Misty nodded tiredly, "Give them hell," she said tiredly as she fell asleep again.
Ash gave a small smile as he kissed her forehead again before releasing Misty's Azurill from its pokeball.
"You keep a good eye on your mistress, okay?"
"Azurill," it answered determined as it waddled up the crook Misty's arm and lay down.
"We need to go," Paul reminded.
We followed him out of the room and made our way to where we would be teleported out.
After a speech and directions from Clair and Lance, we were teleported out. We landed in the forest outside of Alamos Town and saw the cliffs the town sat on. It made more sense now because the bad could carve into the cliffs with no one noticing and gain access to the city.
Once we split off from everyone else, we were then able to find the entrance that Misty almost escaped from and made our way to it. At the entrance, I called out Lucario, Gardevoir, and Roserade, while Paul called out Weavile and Piplup, Gary called out Scizor and Espeon and Ash called out Inferape and Golduck.
I turned to Gardevoir, "As soon as we set any girls free, I want you to teleport them to Clair on the edge of the forest and any bad guys there as well in the make shift cells."
She nodded in understanding and we snuck our way inside. As we crept down the tunnels, we slowly took out henchmen in the way and had Gardevoir teleport them to where Clair wanted them. In hearing the girls wails as we walked, it set my nerves on edge and made me angry and scared. I wanted nothing more at this point than to just hold May in my arms and shield her from everything. No doubt the guys felt the same way.
We came across our first metal door and I used the infrared contact lenses to see inside. Much like the girls room, it had cages lined up covered with cloths. There were also four henchmen in there, three were holding down a girl and the other was at what looked like a fire pit heating a brander.
I looked at everyone and they nodded at me. I gave Lucario permission to kick the door down and we started fighting. We immediately knocked out two of the henchmen holding the girl down, but the third called out a golbat. The pokemon were on it while the guy with the brander tried to swing at me. He missed by a few inches and I retaliated by creating an aura hand gun and shot it. It knocked him back and made him drop the brander.
"Did you kill him?" Gary asked after we knocked out the henchmen and their pokemon.
I walked up to the sleaze bag and checked his pulse, "He'll live," I said as I looked at the gun. "Looks like this is more a stun gun of sorts more than anything. It'll come in handy against these creeps."
We then started to break the locks on the girls cages with them sobbing thanks as Gardevoir teleported them to somewhere safer.
"This is fucking depressing," Paul muttered as the last girl was teleported out.
"Ditto," Gary muttered as we moved to the next room a couple yards down the tunnel.
It was hours before we freed everyone and captured everyone in the tunnels.
"I hope they found the girls since we didn't," Ash said concerned.
"Can you find May using aura?" Gary asked.
"I don't know, I'll try," I said as I sat down cross-legged and focused my thoughts.
After sifting through everyone, not one of them matched May or the girls.
"I don't sense them, but that doesn't mean they're not by. Remember, I can only sense aura within a certain distance," I reminded.
"Did you look in the camp?" Ash asked.
I nodded, "They weren't there."
Gary sighed, "Well, head's back and see what Clair and Lance say."
We nodded in agreement as we returned the pokemon and had Gardevoir teleport us. We arrived at the rendezvous point to find Clair talking to some medics.
"Did you find the girls?" Clair asked as she turned around.
"No."
Clair frowned, "This isn't good."
"No shit Sherlock," Paul muttered for only us to hear.
"Ma'am, one of the girls has something to say about the missing girls and who the head person is, but will only talk to one of the higher females.
"Cynthia and I will talk to her," Clair said allowing the messenger to rely the news to Cynthia. "Drew, I'd like you to join us as well."
"Me?" I asked confused.
Clair raised her eyebrow causing me to shut up and follow.
We walked into a tent that had some tables and chairs. The girl was sitting at one wearing a heated blanket with the cup of water in front of her. The girl looked at me with fear so I stayed at the entrance with a small sympathetic as Cynthia came in.
"Do not worry, this is one of our agents, Drew," Clair introduced with a calming smile.
The girl lit of with recognition, "Does he have a girlfriend named May?" she asked.
The three of us looked stunned and I nodded. The girl gave a small smile in return, "I was in the cell across from May's. I remember her mentioning your name."
I walked up to the last remaining chair and she nodded her head giving permission to sit down.
"What's your name?" Cynthia asked.
"My name is Felicia Kane. I was kidnapped nine months ago," she said sadly.
"Where are you from?"
"I'm a trainer from Arrowroot Town."
"Do you know what happened to May?" I asked, interjecting myself into the conversation.
Felicia frowned with sad eyes and shook her head, "Before you arrived, May and some of the others were taken from their cages to be groomed for the auction."
I clenched my fists under the table in hearing that, "I was to be one of them before I tried to escape, but once they take you, you're enslaved to them," she said as she started to cry.
Cynthia rubbed her upper arm in comfort, "Do you know who is in charge of this?"
She nodded and I reached for my wallet to pull up a picture, "Is this him?" I asked.
She nodded as more tears fell. I then showed the screen to Clair causing her to frown and stand.
"Thank you for your help Felicia, we'll do everything in our power to stop him," she said before leaving the tent.
I then stood to leave, but Felicia reached out to stop me, "May never stopped believing that you would come."
I gave a small smile at her words before dropping it, "Is there anything you might have heard about where these auctions take place?"
Felicia shook her head before realization lit across her face, "I remember some of the guys complaining about having to wear black tie suits and not getting to eat fancy food."
I grinned at the news, "Thanks Felicia, it might not sound like much, but this is a huge help," I said before running out the find the guys.
"Did you find anything?" Gary asked anxiously as they stood in seeing me coming.
"You bet, guess who's running this whole thing?"
"Carter Rhodes," Paul answered.
"Guess your dad was right about him," Ash commented.
"Did she tell you where the auction was happening?" Gary asked.
"No, but she said the men complained about wearing black tie outfits and not getting to eat fancy food," I explained as I pulled my wallet out and pressed some buttons.
"What are you looking up?" Paul asked.
"This," I said as I showed them my screen. Carter Rhodes Foundation: Charity Event in Alamos Town 8:00 PM.
"Look at the fine print," Gary added. "Dinner to be followed by an auction."
"Let's hope to Mew that this is where the missing girls are," I breathed as we made our way to Clair with the news.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
January 8th (Alamos Town, Sinnoh)
(May's POV)
The girls and I along with 5 others were being led down a dark hallway for the room where the auction was to take place. Ever since I teleported Misty away, hopefully to the guys, I was able to loosen the inhibitors, but not enough to protect me in escaping. We entered the room to find older, sleazy looking men dressed in black tie garb holding glasses of alcoholic beverages.
"Welcome gentlemen," Carter Rhodes greeted, "and thank you for coming tonight. I hope you are able to take home the bride of your choice."
I shivered at his words as I was then grabbed by one of the guarding henchmen and pulled to a raised circular platform.
Drew, where are you?
"Gentlemen, we open bids at $50,000. Do I hear $50,000 for this unspoiled virgin?" Carter asked as he caressed my arm.
"50,000."
"51,000."
"Do I hear 52,000?"
"PHPA, nobody move!"
I glanced up and saw the guys along with other PHPA agents moving in with weapons calling for people to put their hands up.
I saw Drew with his aura gun pointed at Rhodes as he held a knife to my neck.
"Let her go Rhodes!" Drew snapped.
"Come any closer and I'll cut this whore," Rhodes threatened as he pressed the knife harder against my skin.
Drew looked furious and wanted to take a shot, but I was blocking his view. I then pressed my heel into the guy's instep allowing his grip to loosen and for me to free myself from his grasp and run to a nearby post for cover. Drew then immediately fired two shots at the guy, causing him to collapse.
I then ran to Drew and hugged him fiercely and he reciprocated with equal force, "I'd knew you'd come," I whispered as I looked over his shoulder to find Leaf and Dawn hugging Gary and Paul like I was.
"I always will my love," Drew whispered.
In hearing that, I felt tears escaping my eyes and broke down sobbing. As Drew held me tighter, I felt wetness on my shoulder as well.
After a few moments, I felt Drew's grip loosen on me as he guided me outside where we met Clair, Lance, and Cynthia.
"Thank goodness we found you," Clair said with a smile of relief.
"Boys, we'll need you to stick around for a little longer help sort this mess," Lance instructed.
I froze, I didn't want to let go of Drew, not after having found him and I could tell he was the same way.
"I'll be back soon," he promised as he kissed my temple and handed me my pokeballs.
Gardevoir then came up behind us girls and teleported us back to the house.
"You girls can use our showers, I'll use Drew's and Paul's," I offered.
The girls nodded in agreement and we went upstairs to shower and change out of those horrible dresses. I could not lie in saying the dresses were hideous because they were simple and elegant, but they represented something I never want to think about again. After showering, I grabbed some of Drew's clothes to change into and made my way back to my room to change. By the time I finished, I grabbed Blazkien's pokeball and went downstairs with my dress to find Leaf and Dawn with their dresses as well.
We said nothing as we made our way outside, a safe distance from the house. We then threw our dresses into a pile and I called out Blaziken.
"Thank you for coming to rescue us," I said as I gave my starter a hug which he returned.
"I give you permission to burn these things to ashes, we don't want to see them ever again."
He nodded in understanding and used firespin to set the dresses ablaze. After watching the fire slowly burn the dresses to ashes, I had enough.
"Please stay til the fire is put out," I said to which he nodded in understanding.
I then made my way back in the house as I felt the guys' auras appearing where we just were. Unconsciously, I found myself in Drew's room rather than my own, but I didn't care. I laid down on his bed as I felt tears fall. A moment later, I felt Drew's presence in the room. He didn't say anything as I felt him lay down next to me and pull me close to him, refusing to let me go and I let him.
