chapter eight
Trey's POV:
We've just finished practice and is on our way home with my brothers and my friend, Tommy. Mom tends to not be super forceful when it comes to punishments. A lot of the time she forgets that she put someone on punishment. Dad tends to be more strict about it, but only if he was the one to put you on punishment. Since it was mom, he's letting her have control. Ace is driving. Their friends, Adam, Liam, and Daniel, are in Daniel's car coming to our house. Tommy and Jace are agruing about which fast and furious movie was better. I my opinion, they all was good.
"I'm just saying the first one is always the best." Jace say.
"In some cases, but in this case, the fifth one was the best." Tommy argues.
"You no what, I'm done arguing with a junior." Jace grumbles.
"I'm done arguing with a senior citizen." Tommy remarks and Jace growls. Before he can say a come back, Ace butts in.
"That's enough arguing for one day."
"But he called me a senior citizen!"
"I know and I wouldn't waste my last days arguing with a toddler."
"Hey! I'm one year younger than you both!" Tommy whines.
"Tom, shut up. Then that makes you a senior citizen too." I say. Tommy smirks.
"Well, you is the same age as me, so you are one to bro." I glare at him.
"Well I may be old, but I still look good for my age." Jace says.
"Yeah, as good as a Jackass." I mummered.
"You shut up dumby or I'll put my foot up your a-" Ace cuts him off.
"We're here!" We get out the car and Daniel and them follow up behind us. Ace unlocks the door and we all walk in.
"Hey mom. Where's Jaz?" Ace ask.
"Upstairs in her room. Hi everyone." We all say hi while me, Jace, and Ace gives her a kiss on the cheek.
"Can we bring the game system in the living room?" I ask.
"Sure, go ahead. I have to finish cooking." She goes back into the kitchen.
"I'll run upstairs and get the Xbox and Call of Duty." I say and dash up the steps. First, I'll check on Jaz. I go in her room and she was laying on the bed crying. What's wrong?
"Jaz?" I touch her shoulder. She flinch and opens her eyes.
"Pl-please don't hurt me." She says in a smaller voice then her regular quiet voice. Why do she think I'm going to hurt her?
"I'm not going to hurt you. It's me Trey." She looks at my noise then relax.
"I'm sorry, I thought you was someone else." Who did she think I was? I voice my thoughts.
"Who did you think I was?" She looks at her hands.
"Do you really want to know?" She mumbles. Honestly, if you want to here her talk, you have to listen very closely. I nod and she sighs.
"I thought you was master cause I had a dream, well flash back while I was a sleep." My face hardens for a quick second, but then I hide it. I don't want her to get scared.
"Do you always have these flash backs while you're a sleep." She nods. "Do you have them when you are a wake?" She nods again.
"When y'all say some things that remind me of the past, it comes to mine."
"Why was you crying?"
"Because of the dream. It was about my last day there."
"What happened?" Her face becomes frighten. "You don't have to tell me, I pushed you already to much. Would you like to come down stairs with everyone?" She shakes her head no.
"I'll come down when dinner is ready."
"Ok, well I have to go downstairs. They are wanting for me. Just call if you need anything." She nods.
I get up, get the game, and go downstairs.
"What took you so long?" Tommy asks.
"I was talking to Jaz."
"Is she ok?" Ace ask.
"No really."
"What happened?" Jace ask.
"I don't want to talk about it right know. Let's just play the game." They nod and Jace plugs the game up.
After about two rounds, Mom called us to eat.
"I'll get Jaz." I say and run upstairs. I knock and she says to come in. "It's time to eat." She nods and we go down stairs. Dad was just walking in the house when we came down.
"Hey guys and gal." Dad says.
"Hey." I say.
"Hi dad." Jaz says. Then two huge and we go in the kitchen. Everyone sits and begin to eat.
Everyone was talking and enjoying dinner, but Jaz. She at quietly like always. I wonder what is going though that head of hers?
"Jaz, are you alright?" I whisper.
"Yeah, I was loss in thought." She responds.
"What was you thinking about?"
"Nothing, just drop it."
"But-" she cuts me off."
"I said drop it." She sat with a glare. Two seconds later her eyes soften. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been mean."
"No, it's ok. I shouldn't push you to talk of you don't want to."
I wonder why everytime she says a joke, get angry, or even laugh, she apologizes. Was she not allowed to joke or laugh or make mean comments. She looks at me for a minute then nods. She always agree to whatever someone says. I hope she knows that she doesn't have to agree to everything. People at school would take advantage to her. Me and the guys are going to have to keep a close eye on her so she doesn't get hurt or in trouble.
I join in with the guys conversation about there game tomorrow.
"Jaz, will you like to go?" Mom ask her. I already know that she was going to nod. She agrees to everything. I think she is scaried. Scared of us. Scared that we well hurt her.
"I don't see way not." She says send him a smile. I know she is scared off large crowds, but she does want to disappoint them.
"You don't have to go pumpkin." Dad reassures.
"No, I'll go. Might as will get a feel of crowds before I do to school."
Sometimes I wonder what she would've been like if none of these happened. I bet she would be happy and speak at a regular tone. She wouldn't have been shy and mostly like played soccer. She was on the soccer team before everything and was friends with everyone.
"Ok sweety." Mom says finalising the conversation.
We finished eating dinner, had a slice of cake and left the kitchen.
"Guys, you want to take the game upstairs so they can watch TV?" Ace ask and we nod.
We are in Ace room and he have just finished plugging everything in. It was Daniel, Ace, Liam, and Jace turn to play.
"So, Jaz is going to school?" Tommy ask.
"Yeah." I answer.
"How would that work, it's she far behind in school?"
"She won't be in classes. She will be working with some lady that will catch her up and in the next semester she will start school for real. She also have to take Saturday school and summer school." Ace answer.
"What was you and her talking about when you went to get the game?" Jace ask me.
"I went to say hi, but she was crying in her sleep. Then I woke her up, she thought I was going to hurt her until she noticed it was me. She told me she thought I was someone else. She said she was having a nightmare, well flashback while she was alseep."
"Who did she think you was?" Daniel asks.
"The guy that had her."
"Dam." Ace says.
Yeah, dam.
