The Affair [boyxboy]
Ch-Ch-Ching.
The sound of wind chimes penetrated my ears, pulling me out of my peaceful sleep. My eyes cracked open slightly, and I saw the sunlight peaking in through the window.
I squeezed my eyes shut tightly and rolled over, determined to fall back asleep. I pulled the warm covers up to my chin.
Ching-Ching-Ch-Ching.
Apparently the stupid wind chimes hated my precious sleep. I forced my eyes open and slowly got out of the comfortable bed.
I staggered over to the open window and peeked out. The wind chimes were too far away for me to bring the damn things into the house so they’d stop making noise.
Instead, I pulled the window shut and drew the blinds. The room was swallowed into a light darkness, and I managed my way back to the bed.
I crawled under the covers and once again pulled them up to my chin. I shut my eyes, hoping that now I could finally fall back to sleep.
A cold hand touched my back and I jumped in shock and let out a slight yelp. I groaned and rolled over, forcing my eyes open yet again.
“Can’t a guy sleep around here?” I grumbled.
Blake grinned at me and shook his head slowly. He gently stroked the side of my face and leaned in, pecking my lips.
“Sorry. No can do,” he said. “You woke me up getting out of bed. So I can’t have you falling back to sleep while I’m still awake.”
“I only woke up because of those stupid wind chimes! How did they not wake you up?!” I whined.
Blake chuckled and shrugged. “My mom always puts them out. I’m just used to sleeping through them, I guess.”
“I have a place your mom can put her stupid wind chimes,” I said, pouting.
“Next time I’ll be sure to close the window,” Blake promised with an amused smile.
“Yea, you better,” I growled.
“Aw, don’t be in such a bad mood. I’m sorry the wind chimes woke you up,” Blake said, laughing a little.
“Well how can I slip into a good mood when you’re laughing at me like this?!” I asked, pouting at him.
“You’re so cute when you pout,” Blake said, leaning forward and kissing me gently.
“I’m cute all the time,” I said with a smug grin.
I snaked my arms around Blake’s waist and pulled his body to mine. He rested his head on my bare chest and I pulled a hand free, raking it through his hair softly.
I kissed Blake’s forehead and smiled at him softly. “I hope you’re not falling asleep Blake,” I said jokingly.
“Now there’s the good mood I like,” he said, wrapping his arms around me and letting his eyes close.
We sat like that for a while, content in our position. I continued to play with Blake’s hair. I knew he loved when I did that.
His eyes remained shut, but I knew he was awake. He had a small smile on his face, and his thumb traced small circles against my back.
My stomach growled and Blake opened his eyes, laughing at me quietly. He sat up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, stretching and cracking his back. I copied him and we got out of his bed together.
We pulled on some clothes and took turns running Blake’s comb through our hair. Blake hugged me and kissed me, smiling up at me.
“Come on; let’s get you food before you starve to death,” he said.
Blake took my hand in his and led me out of his bedroom. We went into the kitchen and Blake released my hand so that he could hunt through his cupboards in search of something for us to eat for breakfast.
“Will cereal do?” Blake asked apologetically.
I chuckled and nodded at him. “Cereal will do just fine,” I assured.
Blake handed me a bowl and a spoon. I sat down at his counter as he grabbed a box of Cheerios and a gallon of milk.
We fixed ourselves some cereal and Blake sat down next to me. I wrapped an arm around his waist as we ate. When we had finished our cereal, Blake rested his head on my shoulder and I kissed his cheek lovingly.
After a few minutes, Blake got up, grabbing our bowls. He cleaned up the miniature mess we had made before going over to his couch.
I got up and followed him over there, sitting next to him and pulling him into my arms. He grabbed the television remote and put it on a random channel.
“Anything you want to watch?” he asked me.
“You.”
“You’re so creepy,” he said with a laugh.
A smirk danced on my lips and I nodded at him. “I am. But, hey, can you blame me? You’re one of the most physically appealing men I’ve had the pleasure of laying my eyes on.”
“Oh? And you like just my physical appearance?” Now a smirk was playing at his lips too.
I shook my head at him, pressing my forehead against his, my lips nearly touching his. “No. You have quite the fine personality too,” I whispered.
“Yours isn’t bad either,” he said.
I closed the small space between us, bringing our lips together. Blake’s lips were soft and comfortable against my own. They were familiar. Natural.
I pulled away and Blake let his head drop against my shoulder. I wrapped my arms around his waist and held him to me, neither of us paying much attention to whatever was on the television.
“What time do you have to leave?” Blake asked me.
My eyes flicked to the clock before meeting Blake’s gaze again. “I have about an hour left here before I have to leave.”
Blake frowned and hugged me tightly. “I wish you didn’t have to leave,” he whispered.
“I know,” I said, kissing him. “Believe me, I know.”
Blake flicked through several channels before finally leaving it on a replay of Full House. We cuddled together, watching TV together until it was time for me to leave.
I sighed and stood up with Blake still held to me. He hugged me and kissed me deeply, wrapping his arms around my neck.
I pulled away from him and gave him a weak smile. “Don’t act like you’ll never see me again Blake. I’ll see you tomorrow. And I’ll definitely be back,” I promised with a wink.
“But you know when I see you tomorrow it won’t be the same,” he mumbled, glancing down at his feet.
I gently gripped his chin and tilted his head so that he was looking into my eyes. I nodded at him, knowing he was right. I wasn’t going to bother denying the truth.
“You’re right. But that doesn’t mean anything. You know how I feel,” I said before kissing him.
I released his chin and went downstairs, Blake following behind me. He watched me as I pulled my shoes on and unlocked his front door.
I turned and hugged him tightly, kissing him one more time. “I’m sorry. Next time I’ll try to stay longer,” I said with a sigh, pulling the front door open.
“I’ll see you tomorrow then,” he said, watching me as I stepped outside and headed towards my car.
I got in my car and started it up. I plugged in my iPod and King For A Day by Pierce The Veil exploded out of my speakers.
I glanced up and saw that Blake was still watching me from the doorway. He did this every time. He hated to see me go.
I pulled out of the driveway, knowing he wouldn’t shut the door until I was out of his sight. I took off down the road and towards my house, not even bothering to glance back at Blake’s house as I left.
A few minutes later, I pulled into my driveway. I got out of the car, not bothering to turn it off. I had to head back out in a minute anyways.
I jogged inside and up to my bedroom. I dug around my dresser until I had produced a clean pair of jeans and a clean T-shirt.
I changed my clothes and ran a comb through my hair to fix it up a little. I used my cologne, brushed my teeth, and checked my appearance in the mirror before nodding to myself and heading back out to my car.
My music had changed, and now Better Than I Know Myself by Adam Lambert was playing. I smiled a little as I pulled out of my driveway and began to head towards Luka’s house.
I pulled into Luka’s driveway and unplugged my iPod. I stuffed it into my pocket and turned the car off before getting out.
I walked up the driveway and rang the doorbell. I stuffed my car keys into my pocket after locking the car while I waited for Luka to answer the door.
The front door opened and Luka smiled at me brightly. “You’re kind of early!” he said, stepping aside and motioning for me to come into the house.
I stepped into the house and slid my shoes off. “Sorry. I couldn’t wait to see you,” I said, returning the bright smile.
Luka grabbed my hand and pulled me through his entryway and kitchen into his living room. He had Ouran High School Host Club paused on his television screen.
“I couldn’t sleep in for some reason this morning, so I’ve been re-watching it while I waited for you to get here,” he explained. His smile grew. “I’m so happy you’re early!”
He glanced back at his kitchen and looked at me curiously. “Are you hungry at all? Did you have breakfast? I can make you something!”
“Luka, calm down,” I said, laughing at how adorable he was. “I had some cereal before I left my house this morning. I’m not hungry.”
“Well, tell me if you get hungry. Personally, cereal doesn’t fill me,” Luka said, a pout sliding onto his face.
I laughed at him again, pulling him into a hug. “You’re so adorable. I can’t even handle it,” I said, smiling down at him.
Luka blushed lightly and hugged me back. He rested his head on my chest and we stood there together, rocking slightly.
“I really am glad you’re early,” he said, glancing up at me. “I missed you.”
“I missed you too,” I said with a frown, running my hand through his hair.
“What are we going to do today?” he asked. “We can go on the trampoline or watch movies or go swimming or ride bikes or…anything, really.”
“Well, it’s early. We have all day to do whatever we want,” I said, the smile returning to my face. “We can do everything you just listed plus more. We can do anything you want to do, Luka.”
“It’s not all about me,” he said, the blush creeping into his cheeks again. One of the many things I loved about Luka was how easily he blushed. It was so cute.
“Oh, but it is. I want you to be happy. I want to see you have fun and be happy,” I said, my smile getting wider. I hugged him tighter as he looked at me with brightly shining eyes.
“I’m glad we get to spend the whole day together. I love you so much,” he whispered.
I nodded. “I’m glad too. I love you Luka. You know you’re the only one I love,” I whispered back, releasing him from the hug.
I cupped his face in my hands gently. “The only one I love,” I repeated before leaning down and giving him a gentle kiss.
My name is Connor Brennan, and this is the story of my affair.
