The Affair {3}

“I am so hungry I could eat a horse!” Luka whined as we walked towards our lockers together.

I squeezed his hand gently and kissed his cheek. “Now, don’t do that. You have a perfectly fine lunch in your locker. No need to go killing horses.”

We stopped at Luka’s locker and he put in his combination before pulling out his lunch. He shut his locker and we walked to the cafeteria together, sitting at our usual table.

“Do you have lunch money today Connor?” Luka asked.

I shook my head at him and he frowned deeply. Concern shined in his eyes and he leaned over and kissed me.

“When was the last time you had lunch?” he asked.

“Who cares? I’m not hungry anyways Luka,” I said, wrapping an arm around his waist and shrugging.

“Eat,” Luka commanded, pulling out a small bag of Doritos and shoving it in my face.

I gently pushed the bag away from my face. “Luka, I’m not going to eat your lunch,” I said patiently. We went through this a lot. Luka hated it when I didn’t eat.

I saw his bottom lip start to quiver and groaned, knowing that the Voice was coming next. And sure enough, it did.

“Connor, please eat,” Luka said in the Voice. He held the bag of Doritos out to me, giving me his sad eyes. “Please baby.”

“Fine,” I said, pouting and snatching the chips out of his hand. “You win. I’ll eat your lunch.”

“Yay!” Luka cheered, flinging his arms around my neck and kissing me deeply. He pulled away and smiled. “Now eat, mister! You’re too skinny!” He poked my stomach.

“Ah, I see Luka has won the lunch war once again,” Blake said as he and Felix sat down with us.

I pouted as I opened the bag of Doritos and tossed one into my mouth. “Shut up Blake,” I grumbled, glaring at the table.

“Connor? Don’t be mad at me,” Luka said in a small voice.

I groaned and pulled him into my arms. “You know I’m not mad at you Luka. I’m never mad at you,” I said, kissing his cheek.

“Are we all hanging out after school?” Blake asked.

“Yea! It’ll be fun! We can go to my house!” Luka said eagerly, wrapping his arms around my neck and jumping onto my lap.

I laughed and wrapped my arms around his waist so he wouldn’t fall over in his excitement. Luka smiled and kissed me before beginning to eat his lunch.

“We can go swimming,” he said thoughtfully. “But Connor, if you’re going to stay the night again, we need to stop at your house and get you clean clothes and your cologne!” He shot me a stern look and I laughed again.

“Yes master,” I said, bowing my head.

“Connor, do you have your car? If not, I’ll drive us to your house so you can get your stuff,” Blake offered.

“No, I have my car,” I said, resting my chin on Luka’s shoulder. “But thanks for the offer.”

“No problem. I’ll have to stop at my house to get my swim trunks anyways, and I’ll drive Felix to his house too,” Blake said, opening his Arnold Palmer and taking a sip of it. “So we’ll take a little while to get there. You guys will have plenty of time to stop at Connor’s house.”

Luka turned and kissed my cheek, smiling. “Make sure you grab your cologne,” he said, pouting at the fact that I apparently didn’t smell good today.

“Jeez Luka, thanks for telling me I smell like shit,” I said, rolling my eyes.

“No! You don’t smell bad! And stop using bad words,” he said, flicking my nose, his pout getting deeper.

“Sorry, sorry,” I said, rubbing my nose and sticking my tongue out at him.

Luka flicked his tongue against mine, smirking and winking at me. I grinned at him, my hands tightening around his waist.

“Yea Luka. Get some!” Felix cheered.

“Hush,” Luka said, blushing and sticking his tongue out at Felix.

We fell into casual conversation as we ate. The bell rang, and the four of us made our way to class.

When the end of the day came around, I walked to Luka’s locker with him. I watched him as he exchanged his books and stood up, shutting his locker.

“Let’s go get your stuff,” he said, grabbing my hand and pecking my lips.

“See you guys in a little,” Blake said as he and Felix passed by us on the way to their lockers.

Luka and I left the school and went down the hill to my car. We got in and I plugged in my iPod so that we wouldn’t have to listen to more Spice Girls on the way to my house.

Luka scrolled through my iPod in search of a song as I began to drive. He finally settled on “Cute” by Stephen Jerzak.

“And you’re as cute as a button!” he sang happily.

I smiled as I glanced at him. He was bouncing in the seat, singing along with the music, an adorable smile on his face.

“I love you Luka,” I said, reaching across and taking his hand in mine, squeezing it.

“Is there something in your eye? Oh wait, it’s just a sparkle,” he sang, winking at me and kissing my cheek.

I drove to my house and pulled into the driveway. I got out of the car and Luka copied me. I shook my head at him.

“No, stay in the car. I’ll only be a second,” I promised him as I grabbed the spare key and unlocked the front door.

Luka frowned and got back in the car, shutting his door. I let myself into my house and went upstairs and down the hall to my bedroom.

I opened the door and stepped in, looking around for my school bag. Spotting it next to my bed, I grabbed it and slung it over my shoulder. I grabbed another bag and tossed two changes of clothes and my cologne into it. I grabbed my toothbrush and threw that in too.

I made sure I had everything I needed before leaving my house and getting back into my car. I pulled out of the driveway and started towards Luka’s house.

We got out at Luka’s house and went inside. We changed into our swim trunks and sat down on Luka’s bed together.

I pulled Luka into my arms and laid down on his bed. He snuggled up against my bare chest and kissed me.

“Connor, I love you,” he said, smiling softly.

I ran my hand through his hair and smiled back at him. “I love you too Luka,” I said sincerely.

“And I’m the only one you’ll ever love, right?” he asked nervously.

“Of course,” I said, kissing him deeply. “You’re the only one I’ll ever love, Luka. You’re the only one I ever want to be with.”

Luka’s smile returned and he brought his lips to mine. I kissed him back, fighting off images of Blake. Blake wasn’t here right now. Luka was.

The doorbell rang, as if Blake knew what I had been thinking. Luka and I pulled apart and got up, heading downstairs and pulling the front door open.

                “Hey guys,” Blake greeted, grinning.

I took in his appearance, keeping my expression casual. I had seen him without his clothes on enough times, so why should I let myself get excited over the sight of him topless?

“To the pool!” Luka cried in excitement, grabbing my hand and dragging me towards his back door.

Blake and Felix laughed and followed us, shutting the front door for Luka. We went out to Luka’s backyard and over to his pool.

Luka dipped his toe in, a thoughtful expression on his face. “Warm,” he confirmed, pulling his toe out of the water and leaping in.

“Come in guys!” he said, waving us in once he had resurfaced.

Felix, Blake, and I shrugged before jumping into the pool. We swam around for a little, splashing each other and playing sharks and minnows.

Luka swam over to me and wrapped his arms around my neck, leaning up and kissing me. “I’m having fun Connor,” he said, smiling.

“I’m glad,” I said, wrapping my arms around his waist. I rested my forehead against his, looking into his eyes.

He kissed me again and rested his head on my shoulder. “Are you spending the night again? I can make you breakfast again!”

I laughed and nodded, tracing circles against his back with my thumb. “Yea, I’m staying the night again. And I can’t wait to see my bacon and toast smiling at me in the morning.”

“But when I tell you to get up tomorrow, you better get up mister! And you better not be a grumpy jerk again,” he said, pouting.

“Connor’s always a grumpy jerk in the morning,” Blake said, laughing. “He hates waking up.”

Well jeez. He acts like getting woken up by his mom’s stupid wind chimes was fucking fun.

“You guys are all just mean to me,” I grumbled.

“I’m not mean to you!” Felix whined. He paused thoughtfully. “Well, actually, you are a grumpy jerk in the morning. Sorry Connor, but that’s just a fact.” He snickered.

I rolled my eyes. “Well, now that you’re all being complete assholes to me, I’m going to go get us soda and chips because I’m thirsty and hungry.”

Luka smacked my arm. “Stop saying bad words!” he said sternly, pointing a threatening finger at me.

“Stop being mean to me,” I said, pushing his finger away from my face.

He giggled and kissed me. “I’m only saying the truth, baby! Now go get us some snacks and drinks,” he said, giving me a joking shove towards the edge of the pool.

I climbed out of the pool and Blake copied me. I gave him a questioning look.

“I’ll help you carry everything,” he explained.

I shrugged and we dried off a little before heading into the house together. We moved into Luka’s kitchen and I dug around for some chips and soda.

Blake grabbed my arm and pushed me up against Luka’s refrigerator. He grinned at me, getting up in my face.

“Doesn’t it excite you, Connor?” he asked, shifting and licking from my stomach up to my chest. “Being in the pool together? Like that night in the hot tub?”

I smirked, grabbing his hips and pulling him against me, kissing him deeply. “I remember that night in your hot tub,” I said, my smirk getting wider.

I glanced over at the window near us, making sure Luka and Felix wouldn’t be able to see us. My heart was pounding at the risk of this. Of Blake and I acting like this right in my boyfriend’s kitchen.

“And I’m the only one you’ll ever love, right?”

I froze, Luka’s words exploding in my mind. Blake frowned at me, cocking his head to the side curiously.

                “What’s wrong Connor?” he asked.

“Blake, let’s just go back outside. This is too risky,” I said with a sigh.

Blake smirked, pushing me back up against the refrigerator as I started to move. “You like the risk, and you know it.”

I opened my mouth to protest, but Blake cut off my words by crashing his lips on mine. I couldn’t help but kiss him back passionately, tangling my hands in his hair and drawing his face closer to mine.

Blake bit my bottom lip and I opened my mouth, letting his tongue in. Our tongue rubbed against each other playfully.

Blake pulled away from me after a little. He grinned. “I love you Connor,” he said, pecking my lips. He grabbed two packs of soda and headed towards the door, glancing over his shoulder at me.

I grabbed the chips and followed him. He gave me another kick kiss after making sure Luka and Felix couldn’t see us.

“I love you Blake,” I said once he had pulled away from my lips.

Blake smiled happily at that. We left the house together and set the snacks in the pool house before going out to Luka and Felix.

“Well this is a compromising position,” I said, raising an eyebrow at them.

Luka laughed. He was in Felix’s arms, his own arms wrapped around Felix’s neck.

“I was making him carry me,” Luka explained, grinning.

“Sure Luka. You were cheating on me,” I said in fake hurt, slapping a hand over my heart.

Luka’s grin dropped right off of his face and he slid out of Felix’s arms. He looked at me with the most serious expression I had ever seen him with.

“I would never cheat on you Connor. I love you too much,” he said. There wasn’t the slightest trace of humor in his expression.

I lowered myself into the pool and went over to him, pulling him into my arms and kissing him deeply. I offered him a small smile.

“I know you wouldn’t, Luka. And I would never cheat on you,” I said, gently stroking his face.

I winced as my heart slammed against my chest. Luka shot me a concerned look, gripping my arm.

“Connor? Are you okay?” he asked.

I nodded, rubbing my chest. “Yea, I’m fine,” I said, confused. Why had my heart started racing like that? “It’s just…I’m hungry. I need to eat something. I’m getting kind of dizzy.” That was a lie, but I didn’t know what else to say.

There was no way it could have been…guilt.

                Right?

Luka’s grip on my arm tightened, that concerned expression still on his face. I offered him a reassuring smile.

“Luka, I’m fine. Honestly. I just need to eat. Now stop cutting off my blood circulation,” I said jokingly.

Luka loosened his hold on my arm. He guided me out of the pool and into the pool house, Blake and Felix following us. We all sat down and I grabbed a chip, tossing it into my mouth.

“Are you sure you’re okay Connor?” Blake asked, concern also on his face.

I nodded and laughed. “Calm down you guys. I just got a little dizzy. I’ll eat and be fine,” I said, hoping I was right. Surely hunger was all it was.

“My mom will be home with a pizza in a little,” Luka said, scooting the stool he was sitting on closer to me. That concern still hadn’t left his face, and it made me smile softly.

I wrapped an arm around his waist and kissed him. “Calm down Luka. I promise that I’m fine. You don’t have to worry,” I said, gently stroking his cheek.

“But Connor, I DO have to worry,” he whispered, dropping his gaze. “You don’t eat right, and I’m scared you’re going to get sick because of it. You skip meals, and when you do eat, you don’t eat a lot. It scares me a lot.”

I frowned deeply. “I’m sorry Luka. I don’t mean to worry you,” I said, tilting his chin so that he was looking into my eyes. “I never want to worry you. You know that. I’ll try to eat right from now on.”

I hated to make Luka worry about me. I would do absolutely anything to make this boy smile. I was so deeply in love with Luka. All I wanted to do was make him happy.

My eyes slid over to Blake, and I saw the jealousy and concern in his eyes. He was worried about me, and jealous of Luka.

My gaze snapped back to Luka. Blake was a separate part of my life. I loved Blake, but I wasn’t in love with him. I was in love with Luka. No one else.
